PENGARUH PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF MODEL RECIPROCAL TEACHING DENGAN TEKNIK EXAMPLE NON EXAMPLE TERHADAP BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA (SISWA KELAS XI MAN 2 JEMBER)
Abstract. Educational effectively in Indonesia is very low. Research and surveys conducted by educational practitioners find one reason which is the absence of a clear educational goals and lack of teacher's knowledge about teaching method how to train students to become more active in the process of learning so that education becomes ineffective. Effective learning is expected to train students to think critically. Teaching's process by the teacher is not training students to think critically, so that students are not challenged to think critically. Critical thinking skills are expected to deepen students' understanding and learning materials can be related to everyday events. Deep understanding of the students will impact positively to the student' learning outcomes, because in this case, the students have understood the essence of the materials. Reciprocal teaching cooperative model with example non- example technique is the activity to summarize which is preceded by reading, asking questions, predicting an answer and clarify answers. Summarizing activities, can train students in managing information. Data analysis critical thinking and student learning outcomes using ANCOVA test. ANCOVA test results showed that the students' critical thinking has a probability (P) < 0,05, whereas the student learning outcomes have the probability (P) < 0,05. It can be concluded that the cooperative learning model of reciprocal teaching by example non-example techniques can train critical thinking and improve student learning outcomes. HUBUNGAN ANTARA STRATEGI GURU DALAM PENGEMBANGAN DISAIN PEMBELAJARAN PRAKTIKUM BIOLOGI DENGAN AKTIVITAS DAN CAPAIAN HASIL BELAJAR PRAKTIKUM SISWA (KELAS XI SMAN DI KABUPATEN BONDOWOSO)
Abstract : The learning of biology practical works is the process of effective learning to achieve the three objectives simultaneously, those are; improving cognitive skills, affective skills, and psycomotoric skills. This research aims to analyze the relationship between teacher's strategies in the development of design learning biology practical activity and achivement of student learning outcomes. The research method is research method survey. Classically, the results of syllabus quality is 84% and lesson plan was 79.1%, and the strategy used is the experience learning and interactive. The results of students’ activity in the scale of score 1 up to score 4, the highest score that is score 3 was 47.69% and the highest score of the result of practical works activities and test that is “C” score (enough) was 65% and 59.3%. The relationship between teachers’ strategy and students’ achievement of practical works analyzed by using correlation shows that the result was not significant because (P) > 0.05. THE EFFECT OF USING NUMBERED HEAD TOGETHER TECHNIQUE ON THE EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION ACHIEVEMENT AT SMPN 2 TANGGUL JEMBER
Abstract.This article is intended to discuss the effect of using Numbered Head Together (NHT) technique at the eighth grade students’ reading comprehension achievement at SMPN 2 TanggulJember. Reading is one of the basic skills that are taught to students at junior and senior high school. Reading relates to reading comprehension. It means that a reader should think critically how to understand the text. Through reading activities, the students are expected to be able to comprehend the word, the sentence, the paragraph, and the text meaning. Therefore, a good reading ability is needed to make students master in reading. The use of Numbered Head Together technique in teaching reading is effective, since it lets the students to cooperate with their group by putting their head together to discuss the problem. This research applied a quasi-experimental with posttest only control group design. The research was conducted at SMPN 2 TanggulJemberwith the eighth graders as the research population. Considering the Homogeneity test’s result, the population was homogeneous, therefore the research sample was chosen by using lottery. VIII-B which had 35 students was the experimental group and VIII-C which consisted of 36 students was the control group. The result of the students’ reading comprehension test was calculated by using independent sample t-test through SPSS program. The result of the calculation showed that the use of Numbered Head Together Techniquegave a significant effect on the eighth grade student’ reading comprehension achievement at SMPN 2 TanggulJember. Abstract : The object of this reseach was K.H. Anwar Zahid speech. This research was conducted because K.H. Anwar Zahid speech representattive speech that was delivered with humor and it had interesting type, modus, and strategy. This reseach was intended to find the attractiveness of the speech in terms of type, modus, and strategy contained in K.H.Anwar Zahid speech. The method used in this reseach was qualitative and descriptive reseach. The results showed that type, modus, and strategy a representative speech was delivered firmly, tow tune, but emphasizing on certain words with humor so that the audiences could understand, felt happy and satisfied. Based on the result and explanation, it can be concluded that K.H. Anwar Zahid speech had spesific sharacteristics that difference with other religious spaker. K.H. Abstract : This article aims at describing students’ ability in writing recount text. Writing a good text in English as a foreign language is a problem. The difficulties in writing a text in English is due to the fact that English is not their mother tongue. In Senior High School at SMAN Arjasa Jember, there were many problems in writing such as: organization, grammar, vocabulary, mechanics, content, and organization. However, there haven’t been any records telling/showing exactly the students’ ability in writing covering those aspects. THE EFFECT OF USING STORY MAPPING TECHNIQUE ON READING COMPREHENSION ACHIEVEMENT OF THE EIGHTH YEAR STUDENTS AT MTs. NEGERI BANGSALSARI
Abstract.This article was intended to investigate the effect of using Story Mapping Technique on reading comprehension achievement at MTs.NegeriBangsalsari.Through Story Mapping, the students were helped to comprehend the English text more easily.In this research, two classes were chosen as the experimental and control group. The quantitative data gathered from the result of the mean difference from both of groups to answer the question “Is there any significant effect of using story mapping technique?”.The result of the research proved that “There is a significant effect of using Story Mapping Technique on reading comprehension achievement of the eighth year students at MTs.NegeriBangsalsari”. The findings of the research suggested the English teacher to apply Story Mapping Technique in teaching reading comprehensionto help and improve students’ ability in comprehending the text, so that it give positive impact for students’ learning achievement. Abstract : Songs can be viewed as a form of social practices related to social reactions. Forms of social pathology is quite popular and can be appointed as a theme song that hit today. Slank is a band on board who has many fans in Indonesia. Some of the album contains the songs on the theme of social pathology. To find meaning in a song, one can use discourse analysis. Discourse in principle, be used to argue, influence, persuade, supporting, reacting, and so on. Social Pathology felt suitable for use in a song to influence discourse, debate, and so on. Therefore, by using the concept of Critical Discourse Analysis, developed by Van Djik, I try to assess the meaning of critical, pathological forms of social and moral messages in the album Plur. method used is descriptive qualitative. The data are words, sentences, and discourse in the songs contained in the album Plur. The results and discussion indicate that there are six songs critical implies that 1) the discourse song Gledek Samber is the impact of drug 2) discourse Jakarta Explode Again song has a meaning that is abuse of democracy. 3) Investigation Atjeh discourse song has meaning critically about the GAM and TNI 4) critical meaning in discourse that is satirical song Street Gossip political elite (government) 5) the meaning of critical discourse that song Indonesiakan UNA concerns of parents to raise children in the country, 6 ) discourse song meanings critical Complex bureaucracy is bureaucracy that makes people confused. THE EFFECT OF USING OUNDTABLE TECHNIQUE IN COOPERATIVE LANGUAGE LEARNING ON TENSES ACHIEVEMENT OF THE EIGHTH YEAR STUDENTS AT SMPN 1 JENGGAWAH IN THE 2012/2013 ACADEMIC YEAR
Abstract.An English tense is one of the language components of English that is very important in learning English. It cannot be ignored because it is needed by the students to master four language skills, namely: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Though English tenses are very important for the students to master four language skills, many students experience difficulties in learning English tenses. There are many reasons that cause this problem. One of the reasons is the students do not have motivation in learning English tenses. Many students are bored when they learn English tenses in the same situation, such as the the lecturing method. The use of Roundtable Technique in Cooperative Language Learning in teaching English tenses can be an appropriate technique since it can increase the students’ enthusiasm in learning English tenses. This research applied a pre-experimental with non-equivalent posttest only design. This research was conducted at SMPN 1 Jenggawah with the eighth year students as the population. Two classes were taken by using lottery since the result of homogeneity test was homogeneous. Class 8H which consisted of 38 was students as the experimental group and class 8E which consisted of 37 was students as the control group. The students’ posttest scores were analyzed by using Independent Sample T-test which was available on SPSS. The result of the Independent Sample T-test showed that the use of Roundtable Technique had a significant effect on the students’ tenses achievement. Abstract: Learning science, especially biology, is closely related to the concept of contextual learning. It required a real media, so students have a clear concept to an example directly. So, teachers can bring the object of observation which taken from the environment. Insects are the Arthropoda that have three pairs of legs, a segmented body divided into three regions (head, thorax, and abdomen), and found everywhere. Diversity and density of insect of tomato (Lycopersicon Esculentum Mill.) at Desa Sapikerep Kecamaran Sukapura Kabupaten Probolinggo can used as alternatif of learning source. The purpose of this study is to know diversity and density of insect of tomato at agriculture area Desa Sapikerep Kecamatan Sukapura Kabupaten Probolinggo, and Probolinggo and the usage as insect field guide book. Diversity of insects were observed by observational method, an 8 m2 area of tomato plants in the morning. Diversity of insects were analyzed by Shannon-Wiener diversity. Insect of tomato plants consist of 8 orders belonging to 35 species. The result of this study usage as insect field guide book. To facilitate the learning process, teacher can use a supporting reference book, that is a field guide book. Field guide book contains pictures of species, descriptions, and glosary that can help readers to understand latin terms. From the result of validation test of products, the field guide book can be recommended as one alternative learing resources in form of reference books in school, especially in the learning material biodiversity. DIKSI DAN GAYA BAHASA DALAM PERCAKAPAN “SENTILAN SENTILUN”
Abstract : Diction and style of language is one of the invoices that affects one's speaking skills. When expressing ideas, thounght, and feelings to other, language users often do not state what is meant directly but by using words or terms whose meaning can not be directly interpreted in accordance with the origin or meaning of the term. Users diction and style of language are also present in conversation “Sentilan Sentilun”. The existence of unique words and style of language variation in the event behind this research. Based on this, it can be formulated the following issues: (1) how the diction and style of language used and Sentilun scolding figures in conversation "scolding Sentilun" and (2) how the function of the diction and style of language used and Sentilun scolding figures in conversation "scolding Sentilun ". Using a qualitative descriptive research, the results obtained in the form of the word connotative meaning, a scientific word, style and style mesodiplosis cynicism that dominates in every conversation "scolding Sentilun". In addition, the function of the diction and style are classified based on the notion of diction and style of the language it self. “Sentilan Sentilun” is one of the show's title that aired every Monday at 10:30pm at Metro TV. When viewed from the means used to convey to the audience (audience, viewers, or listeners), the show is the kind of television drama. While if it is seen by figure presenting, including comedy drama. Use of words in conversation “Sentilan Sentilun” figures containing style of language will be more easily understood by the listener if these words are commonly used in the general public. Use of diction and style of figurative language also makes the languageso it would sound more appealing to listeners to listen to scrutinize to motivational listen comedy drama and received messages to be conveyed by the characters.
