Analysis of Family Resilience: The Effects of the COVID-19
This study aims to analyze family resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic is a worldwide health problem at this time, including Indonesia, with a massive spread. Various issues arise due to the COVID-19 pandemic in economic, social, cultural, educational, and social welfare. This research was conducted on the people who lived in the COVID-19 red zone at Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) area, with a total sample of 311 people. This study's data are political data collected using the Family Resilience instrument distributed using the Google Form application and data analysis using the Rasch Model and SPSS. Based on the research, it was found that the level of family resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic was in a suitable category. Therefore, it is necessary to increase parents' understanding in maintaining harmony and stability in the family conditions
Survivor of Sexual Violence in Quranic Perspective: Mubādalah Analysis toward Chapter Joseph in Tafsir al-Azhar
This research aims to examine and understand cases of sexual violence that befell the Prophet Joseph that was recorded in the verses of the Quran. The Prophet Joseph as a survivor of sexual violence suffered from verbal sexual harassment, attempted rape compulsion, and victim-blaming. The data is obtained by library research and analyzed using the socio-historical approach and qirā’ah mubādalah to analyze the method. The research results indicate that men and women must create a safe space of sexual violence and avoid destructive actions. The Prophet Joseph's strategic move came out of the circle of sexual violence and became a survivor by implementing the unity of God's values in various conditions
Mental Health of College Students and Its Relation to Life Satisfaction and Social Media Abuse
Adolescents are known for their critical development period due to problems they often face in their daily lives. The problem occurs as a result of adolescent developmental tasks that have not been appropriately fulfilled. One of the problems of adolescents is social media abuse. This study analyzes college students' mental health and their relation to life satisfaction and social media abuse. This research is a quantitative approach that involved 302 college students from the Vocational School of IPB University as respondents. The sampling technique used convenience sampling considering the data is taken online and distributed to as many population members as possible. With this technique, respondents are assumed to be willing to fill out the questionnaire because they feel more comfortable and safer. The results prove that male students in this study more often abuse social media than female students. College student life satisfaction in this study is not related and does not influence mental health and social media abuse. Mental health is proven to be related and influenced by abuse behavior, where an increase in mental health will decrease the tendency of social media abuse on college students
The Construction of Women’s Image and the Narrative of Nationalism among Face veiled-University Students in West Nusa Tenggara
This article discusses the image of women and nationalism in the view of 15 female students of the Islamic Religious University (PTKI) in West Nusa Tenggara behind their face-veils (cadar). Methodologically, this study encourages the interpretation of facts from the perspective of the agents by involving the voices of women as subjects who are able to describe their choices and explain their actions responsibly. The choice of female university students as subjects for veil-related research is short among the general trends of research on veils targeting women from militant groups. This research reveals the meaning of the veil as a dynamic and open contestation of women’s identity, gender ideology, and nationalism. The dynamics and openness are possible due to the fact that female students are still in the formation phase of identities while veiling existence nowadays more about fashion trends and lifestyle. The dynamics appear in the ambiguity of the self-image of women they hold by placing women as sources of defamation (fitnah) as well as being pillars of the state. Openness is seen in the narrative of their nationalism which is wrapped in a strong inclusive and tolerant attitude, in addition to the tendency of exclusivism and conservatism of a small number of them. The findings of this study contribute to ideas for emancipatory movements such as gender equality and strengthening nationalism. The movements are to continue to be active and more creative in offering alternatives to the establishment of those female students’ identity and ideology in a more progressive direction
To Cheat or not to Cheat? Sex Differences and Academic Performance as Factors of Cheating Behavior
Cheating behavior at higher education is a global phenomenon since it is found at any university in any country. This study is to examine whether sex differences and academic performance reflect the different likelihood of doing cheating among students. Using a questionnaire, data were collected from 436 students selected from different semesters and study programs in all faculties at a State Islamic University. Data were analyzed by using logistic regression, both separately and simultaneously. The results of data analysis revealed that male students tend to be more likely to do cheating categories than that of their female counterparts. It also found that academic performance affects negatively the likelihood of students to cheat in three categories of cheating behavior, but not in the other three. There is no stimulant effect of sex and academic performance on the likelihood of all categories of cheating behaviors. In other words, the effect of sex differences is not depended on academic performance and vice versa
Islamic Psychotherapy for Children and Adolescents
The two great paradigms typically seen as two opposing are Islam and Psychology, which accumulate the cultural paradigm associated with mental health. Depending on the history, personality inside Islam and psychopathology has been present for centuries. Nowadays, Indonesia well-known as a great Muslim population, which means, the need for mental health service among Muslim society is paramount. Arising awareness of mental health issues and services has increased in the use of mental health services. Therefore, it is substantial that the psychological society at richly understand how Islamic principles can be integrated into psychotherapy. This observation tries to outlining strategies to incorporate the Islamic values into psychotherapy with adults, which the research concerning utilizing Islamic psychology principles with children and adolescents not properly utilizing
Perilaku Beragama Perempuan Ngorek di Pesisir Lamongan
This study aims to look at the religious behavior of fish sorting women laborers in the coastal area of Lamongan. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method, with observation and in-depth interviews with fish sorting women laborers, boat owners and the Head of fishermen association. Data were analyzed using the Miles-Huberman model with stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. This article produces that: first, the understanding of religious women is inseparable from their belief in things that are transcendent able to move worldly life, by applying in daily behavior in the workplace by maintaining an honesty attitude, still carrying out prayer and in their social environment while maintaining friendly relations by adjusting the traditions that run in the community. Second, various social actions that can be taken can be seen from instrumental rationality, value rationality, affective rationality, and traditional rationality
