O-toluidine Polymerization in Aqueous Phase and Its Development to Produce In Situ Poly-o-toluidine Films. Polymerization parameters of aqueous phase which have an effect to polymer film were studied in order to establish indirect control of film fabrication by means of controlling the parameters of aqueous phase. Among the parameters studied are the concentration of HCl, APS/o-toluidine ratio, polymerization duration, and temperature. HCl concentration was found to be optimum at the excess value of 1.0M, whereas ratio of APS/o-toluidine at 1.25. Polymerization duration was found of having an effect to both stability and thickness. As a rule, longer duration of polymerization leads to a thicker and more stablized polymer film. Temperature was found to be a parameter that  ave a defining role in the control of film thickness. Despite of the rather semi quantitative nature of the data, the results show a clear indication that indirect control is possible for in situ method of o-toluidin film fabrication. The variety of six enzymes locus on three populations of Dioscorea bulbifera was revealed using both starch and polyacrilamide gel electrophoresis. Present study showed three polymorphic loci has each 2 alleles with nine total numbers of alleles for all populations examined. The higher alleles variety detected within population (Hs=0,08) than among population (Dst=0,04). The high levels of gene flow (0.53) were due to low differentiation among population. This result supported low levels genetic variation among population examined. Alozime data revealed moderate differentiation genetically between Western and Eastern part population from Bukit Barisan edge. Keywords: allele, electrophoresis, gene flow, genetic variation, locu

Effects of type and temperature of coagulant on the morphology and characteristics of cellulose acetate membranes. Cellulose acetate membranes have been made in this work by phase inversion method using 10 wt. % of cellulose acetate, 10 wt. % of formamide and 80 wt. % of acetone. The dope was coagulated in water or 2-propanol at varied temperature ranging between 5 and 25 oC. The characteristics of the obtained membranes were measured by their water flux and rejection towards dextrans with varied molecular mass, while membrane morphology was observed by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The results showed that membranes coagulated in 2-propanol was denser than the ones coagulated in water resulting in higher rejection of dextrans and lower water permeability. Coagulation in lower temperatures decreased the diffusion rate between solvent and non-solvent and the membrane structure was less porous. Keywords: cellulose acetate membrane, coagulan

SUPER EDGE MAGIC TOTAL LABELING ON UNICYCLIC GRAPHS

    No full text
Let G = (V,E) be a simple, connected and undirected graph with v vertices and e edges. An edge magic total labeling is a bijection f from V∪E to a set of integers {1,2,…,v+e} such that if xy is an edge of G then the weight of edge f(x)+f(y)+f(xy) = k, for some integer constant k. A super edge magic total labeling is an edge magic total labeling f which f(V) = {1, · · · , v}. In this paper we construct new super edge magic total labeling of special classes of unicyclic that we construct from a super edge magic total labeling of odd cycles. Our construction uses embedding process of odd cycles, which is labeled by edge magic total labeling to grid, and uses edge transformation to obtain interesting new classes of super edge magic total unicyclic graphs

Physical Oceanographic Condition of the Western Waters of Sumatera (Simeulue Island Water) on August 2007 Pasca Tsunami December 2004. The physical oceanographic condition of the western waters of Sumatera was observed in August 2007 after tsunami disaster using the RV Baruna Jaya VII. The tenth CTD stations were observed for measuring the temperature and salinity. The temperature and salinity conditions after two years and seven months of the disaster have been normal as a usual condition. The temperature of 28 – 30oC gradually increased from north to south and salinity of 32.8 to 34 PSU gradually increased from the coastal area to the open Indian Ocean. The horizontal distributions and vertical profiles of measured parameters are explained in detail in this paper.  Keywords: physical oceanographic condition, Simeulue Island, tsunam

The Degree of Heavy Metals Pollution in Seawater and Sediment in the Waters of Muna, Kabaena and Buton Island, Norteast of Sulawesi. Muna, Kabaena, and Buton are islands found in Northeast of Sulawesi. One of them, namely Kabaena Island is island which has high Nickel content. Some of mining industries has explored the Nickel content in this area. Tailing come from mining thrown to the sea, will increase the heavy metals content in seawater and sediment in the waters of that third island, remembering the position of that third island not so far. In order to marine pollution monitoring by heavy metals, Research Center for Oceanography has done some marine research in the waters of that third island in April 2006. The aim of this research is to know the impact of Nickel mining activities to heavy metals content in seawater and sediment in that third waters. Heavy metals monitored is Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, and Ni. The results  showed that the content of heavy metals Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, and Ni in sea water still in line with the threshold value according to Kep MNLH No. 51, 2004 for sea biotas. The same condition also found in sediment, where the content of Pb, Cd, Cu, Zn, and Ni is low relative, and still in line with heavy metals content found in normal seawater. Keywords: heavy metal, Northeast of Sulawesi water
