The Influence of organizational injustice in the motivation for the practice of cybercrimes

This research analyzes how the perception of organizational injustice motivates the practice of cybercrimes in the workplace. In a qualitative and exploratory investigation, interviews have been carried out for 16 specialists in cybernetic security. Data were analyzed through the categorical content analysis technique. The results obtained suggest that the perception of injustice produces negative feelings, such as low self-esteem, frustration, and lack of guilt, and these emotions, in turn, motivate the practice of cybercrimes. Different perceptions have been identified among the interviewees of this study, which are associated with the literature review related to the theme, allowed the proposition of a conceptual model

The objective of this research is to identify the social responsibility information of the stakeholder interest for the disclosure of a Philanthropic Higher Education Organization - PHEO. The exploratory inductive study was developed with application of a questionnaire elaborated with the main social responsibility categories, through meetings with groups of the priority stakeholders. The content analysis and the triangulation of the evidences identified the indicators. The research identified 169 indicators, of these, 69 are new. These indicators were also subdivided into categories: The environmental category presented 26 indicators, of which 10 were new; the social category presented 41 indicators, 11 new ones; the economic and financial category presented 29 indicators, of which 10 were new; the category of products and services presented 29 indicators, 16 of them new; already the strategic category presented 23 indicators, being 8 new ones; and finally, for other information 21 indicators were obtained, of which 14 were not previously found in the studies and documents reviewed. Some of the new indicators are specific to the organizational type under study, confirming the need to observe the specific stakeholders’ interests because they have the power to legitimize the organizations in the communities where they are inserted

Innovation system in air transport management

Identifying previous research subjects on innovation management in air transport provides not only updated references on new technologies in this industry, but also indicates which areas need to be prioritized in future research. A systematic literature review of publications in this field over the past decade, from 2005 to 2015, including 2016 publications in progress, was carried out, adopting as a control document the proceedings from the 19th ATRS World Conference, held in Singapore in 2015. The searches were done on ScienceDirect and included reports from over 2,500 journals. The abstracts, titles, and keywords were considered, and Boolean connectors were used. The term “innovation” was combined with at least one of eight different strings: air* (e.g., airport, airline, and aircraft), flight, transport, aviation, carrier, lcc, fsc and seat, which were identified as the terms with the highest frequency of incidence in the 129 files in the control document. From the 731 articles identified and analyzed, 92 were considered as directly related to innovation management in air transport. The results showed that the areas with a higher incidence of studies were the aircraft industry (energy efficiency, industrial process, and noise and pollutant emission reduction), airlines (business model, IT and planning and management), policies (sustainable transport, incentive mechanisms and societal aspirations), and airport (services, security, self-financing and air traffic control and projects). From this review, it was determined that, in addition to the limited studies on this subject, there is also a lack of research on innovations in airport structure, such as runway pavements and the optimization of airport sites, as well as on new forms of disposal of wastes generated during the flight, crew training and integrated innovation planning in the sector. These can direct future studies on the subject in the four application areas identified and promote the development of an integrated innovation system in air transport management

Multicriteria analysis of the compliance for the improvement of information security

Information security is a current issue of protection of information assets that considers significant variables of a strategic, organizational and IT governance nature, and that requires to analyze the compliance with international standards that regulate business actions. In this way, the work analyzes institutional compliance to improve information security applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process methodology to the specific practices defined in ISO/IEC 27002:2013. Expert Choice has been used as Decision Support Systems that has generated as a result the ranking of priorities of the criteria and alternatives used in the decisional process. It has been later applied in a medium-sized Brazilian industrial company. The results identify that the main security practice is the one related to the independent critical analysis of information security

A comparison of hedonic and utilitarian digital products based on consumer evaluation and technology frustration

This study explores how hedonic mobile applications (apps) compare to utilitarian apps in consumer evaluation. We posit that achieving a set of passionate consumers is a pre-cursor to product success in markets, whereas technology frustration is a negative hindrance to the product success. Also, we argue that technology frustration may act as a negative complementing factor to consumer passion, and this effect is higher for hedonic products than utilitarian products. We contextualize our study to the android apps, and used a dataset that tracked 19,121 apps in the android market for three months and coded our variables from this dataset. We conducted empirical analysis and found support for our hypotheses. This study contributes to the information systems and marketing literature in providing a new dimension associated with consumer evaluation of digital products, and draws evaluative comparisons between hedonic and utilitarian digital products

The usefulness and usability of moodle LMS as employed by Zarqa University in Jordan

This research investigates the usefulness and usability of Moodle LMS, as employed by a case study university (Zarqa University), based on students’ experience with Moodle LMS on desktop/laptop and mobile/tablet interfaces. A total of 320 students participated in this research in two stages. The results of this research showed that the students at Zarqa University used frequently only two features on Moodle on both its interfaces. The results of this research also showed that a large number of the students required the provision of 15 features on the local instance of Moodle which are not currently provided. Furthermore, the results showed that a large number of the students identified nine usability problems on the interfaces of Moodle, and a large number suggested nine improvements to the design of Moodle to make it more usable. Finally, this research suggests recommendations to improve the usefulness and usability of Moodle LMS as used by the case study university

This article aims at analyzing the factors which influence the staff of the Brazilian Air Force Information Technology Board – DTI in relation to the understanding of the application of the Information Security Management practices. This attempt was based on the hypothetical-deductive method and, as to its objective, it was descriptive in nature. As to the approach of the research problem, it was quantitative in nature. In order to achieve the proposed objective, an adaptation of the Theoretical Technology Acceptance Model – TAM, which allowed the analysis of the relation between sociodemographic profile, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude and behavior of the users, and the level of understanding of the Information Security practices. The survey was conducted with 59 military servants and civilians which are part of the Brazilian Air Force Information Technology Board, to whom a questionnaire was applied, submitted and approved by the Committee of Ethics in Research (CAAE: 62636016.7.0000.5111), which was based on the precepts of ISO/IEC 27001 (2013) and 27002, which deal, respectively, with the Information Security Management system and with the code of practice for Information Security controls. Once the data were gathered, they were tabulated and statistically analyzed, which enabled the demonstration of the influence of sociodemographic and behavioral factors and of the precepts of the TAM in the perception of the Information Security practices by the DTI staff
