MY LEARNING SPEAKING JOURNEY USING TECHNOLOGY: MY MULTIMODAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE
In recent years, Youtube is technology of video showing that consist a lot of content which is; music, vlog, science, lifestyle, education, tutorial, etc. This technology commonly used by human around the world. In the field of education, youtube can help me to gain my knowledge to be more developed, especially in learning speaking. I need to use my imagination, diligent, and also motivation to learn speaking using this technology. Furthemore, the purpose of this research, I conducted this study to discover how YouTube assisted me to practice my speaking ability. This study also explored the intersemiotic practice experience and This research used autobiographical narrative inquiry as the research design. Intersemiotic is meaning making from word to word that I have learnt on the field. I was conducting by daring system through mobile phone. By mobile phone I able to surfed the data from internet freely. Participant of this research was me as the narrator. I also used justification of my self to tell what I have took on my learning progress. Autobiography is kind of narrative inquiry that I take for my research. The data were collected by learning log, reflective journal, and documentation. After the data collected, I would itterative, emergent and interpretative the data.This analysis data related on my research The result of the data, i found a lot topic that able to enhance my speaking ability, by using documentation i able to monitor my improvement of speaking. And also by used learning log was really helpfull to guide me to classify word, vocabulary and sentence form. For the last one interpretative was a soul of my research. With interpretative I able to improve my speaking ability autonomously. By using some strategies that I have found in the journal
STUDENT EFL PERSPECTIVE TOWARDS EFFECTIVENESS EBOOKS AND PRINTED BOOKS IN A PANDEMIC SITUATION FOR INCREASING READING COMPREHENSION AT UNIVERSITY SINGAPERBANGSA KARAWANG
The present study reports students’ responses on the usage of e-books as well as its effectiveness following their experience. This study also examines the students’ preference and experience for printed books and e-books. The method of this research is qualitative method. The data was collected through observation, interview, and documentation. Qualitative findings show that: (1) All of the students had an interest in using e-book in pandemic situation; (2) the use of e-book in in pandemic situation made students independent and active in reading comprehension; (3) e-book engaged them in reading comprehension rather than printed book; (4) e-book motivated students in reading comprehension. The findings of this study may be useful to other researchers who are interested in EFL teaching innovation or teachers who seek effective reading teaching method
TRAITS OF MASCULINITY AS DEPICTED IN AVENGERS: ENDGAME MOVIE
The concept of masculinity has broadened as a result of gender equality. Masculinity refers to a culture in which men's and women's social roles are clearly defined. This research objective was to find out traits of masculinity of male characters in Avengers: Endgame movie based on the theory proposed by David & Brannon, Beynon (2007). The research method used a descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research are dialogues and scenes in Avengers: Endgame movie. The results represent that there were seven traits of masculinity found in the male characters of Avengers: Endgame movie were be a big wheel, be a sturdy oak, give 'em hell, new man as nurturer, new man as narcissist, new lad, and metrosexual men. Innovative Technology in English Language Teaching: Enhancing Early Start in Teaching English through Zoom
Eearly start in teaching English became an ability to create successful learning by using innovative technology. The purpose of this study is to investigate an early start to learn the English using Zoom by enrolling five students to participate along with problems. The researcher gained by observation techniques, interview and uses qualitative method. The finding revealed that students are more interested while learning by Zoom. ACQUISITION: PROCESS, STRATEGY, PROBLEM IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING
This paper explained the pattern of overcoming difficulties of foreign language learning, identifying based one previous study in learning English as a foreign language. Yet, it also shows general strategies that are useful to overcome the difficulties of acquiring a foreign language based on processability theory. Then, it examines that for learning a foreign language, as the learners need proper time and good management; however, the concept reveals need to focus that teacher’s role, learning methods, and strategies are advised. LITERACY INFORMATION ON INDONESIAN LANGUAGE TEACHERS AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF FUTURE TEACHER BOOKS
This article aims to describe (a) Teacher's Book Encourages Information Literacy and (b) Teacher's book Encourages the Improvement of Creative Critical Thinking Ability. The teacher's book contains a variety of information, from the procedures for using the book, the substance of learning materials, to comprehensive literacy content. In addition, the book must also be able to guide the teacher to be able to select and apply learning materials and strategies according to the times and needs of students. FOLKLORE IN LITERATURE LEARNING AS A MODEL FOR DEVELOPING CULTURAL CHARACTERS AND STUDENTS 'PERSONALITY
Folklore is one of the literary genres which is a cultural product of society and belongs to the community. As a cultural product, folklore contains noble cultural values that are upheld and respected by the people. The messages conveyed in the folklore contain character education values that should be emulated by the reading community. Therefore, folklore can be a vehicle for learning and character building in students that can be conveyed through literary learning. Literature learning must be able to generate and foster good moral values in students that can make students behave in an acceptable manner by the community. Literature learning must be able to develop critical, creative, polite, responsible, disciplined, respectful attitudes to students, both in relation to themselves, relationships with others, and relationships with worship. These individual, social and religious values can be found in folklore. The Application of Online Caricature Momentcam as A Media for Biography Text Writing About Jokowi’s Outstanding Character By Senior High School Students
This research aims at examining the application of online caricature application MomentCam on student’s biography text writing about Jokowi’s outstanding characters. This research employed a qualitative method. The data in this research was in the form of students’ writing results from the application of MomentCam. The subject of this research was a tenth grade students of senior high school. The research particularly aims at identifying (1) students’ biography writing skills outcomes that explain positive and outstanding characters of Jokowi by using MomentCam online caricature application and (2) the description of positive and outstanding characters of Jokowi within students’ biography text writing by using MomentCam online caricature applicationThis research confirms that the utilization of MomentCam online caricature application is successful in assisting students’ writing ability, particularly in writing biography text which consisted outstanding characteristics of Jokowi.
THE USE OF COMMUNICATIVE APPROACH IN TEACHING SPEAKING COMPETENCE
This study aims to inquire into the use of commonicative approach in teaching speaking competence for young learners. The researcher found that the speaking skills or competence was the important skills that learners needed to grasp for improving their language competence. Young learners need to learn English as their foreign or second language as fun as possible. Speaking competence will teach English beyond grammar, words function, so that they feel free to express their opinion. By feeling comfortable to express themselves, they have good self-esteem to learn new knowledge and language. A CONVERSATION ANALYSIS OF PREFERENCE ORGANIZATION IN BRAVE MOVIE
This study is aimed to explain the feature and strategy responses of preference organization used by the main character in Brave movie. In analyzing the data, it was used Levinson’s theory (1983) for the features and Schegloff’s theory (2007) for strategy responses of preference organization that found in the movie. It is a descriptive qualitative research. The data of this study are in the forms of words, phrases, and sentences that contain the features and strategies of preference organization and explained descriptively. Numbering was only used to simply classify the categories. The result showed that the features and accuracy responses of preference organization in Brave movie contain preference organizations of agreements, expected answers, and denial. For dispreferred response, there were refusals, disagreements, and unexpected answers. Meanwhile, the strategies response of preference organization consists of preferred responses in simple and no delay way and elaboration.
