DIVERGENT THINKING CHARACTERISTICS IN WRITING PAPERS
Get PDFThe purpose of this study was to describe the characteristics of divergent thinking in writing student papers. Characteristics of student divergent thinking are seen from the ideas expressed in a paper. This study used a qualitative approach, data were collected through documentation studies. The results of this study indicate that the characteristics of student divergent thinking in paper writing can be seen from varied ideas and have differences with other texts. These results are in accordance with the characteristics of divergent thinking, namely fluency, authenticity, flexibility, and sensitivity in detecting ideas and problems. The student connects and forms combinations of several ideas into new ideas so that sensitivity understands and responds to a statement correctly. However, students need continuous training in writing papers so that divergent thinking skills develop
HOMOSEXUAL ISSUES AT THE STAND UP COMEDY INDONESIA
Get PDFToday, the homosexual phenomenon is prevalent among Indonesian society. This is marked by the increasing number of LGBT communities spread across Indonesia. Increased number of communities is triggered by the socialization/performances/ recording, either directly or indirectly, both in social media and mass media. The Stand Up Comedy broadcasted in mass media is rumored to contain content indicated in relation to the homosexual or LGBT phenomenon. This indirectly reflects the existence of the LGBT phenomenon, especially the homosexual phenomenon. With the material presented by comics stand up comics, comics show indications of a homosexual issue embodied in speech, gestures, and physical appearance. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the comics MG and GB display gesture, speech, or appearance that reflects the existence of homosexual issues are displayed
DEVELOPING PARTICIPATIVE AND COLLABORATIVE LEARNING MODEL OF SCIENTIFIC WRITING SKILL AS A WAY OF PROMOTING STUDENTS’ SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Get PDFThe purpose of this research is to develop a learning model of participative and collaborative scientific writing skill to promote students’ social and emotional intelligence. This research is also intended to produce skilled graduates in terms of scientific writing and to enable the graduates to possess social and emotional intelligence. This is developmental research. In order to achieve research objectives, a developmental model of A Recursive Reflective Design and Development Model (R2D2) and Research Development Research (RDR) are used. The data consist of qualitative data and quantitative data. The technique used to analyze the data involved domain analysis techniques to analyze the qualitative data, and statistical analysis techniques for the quantitative data. The result of this developmental research is a participative and collaborative learning model of scientific writing to develop students' social and emotional intelligence. This research also has delivered a distinctive developmental product compared to a conventional learning model, including concept orientation, concept exploration, concept interpretation, concept application, and evaluation. In addition, a participative and collaborative learning model of scientific writing skills should be developed continuously and be promoted to students who are interested in scientific writing, as it can be used to develop students' social and emotional intelligence. On the other hand, lecturers can utilize this product to improve the quality of the learning process, the results of learning scientific writing and developing students' social and emotional intelligence in which this model can be employed as an alternative model to enrich the learning process

Literacy culture is hampered by the not yet forming mentality of students' reading and writing culture. Literacy culture must be instilled early in students to ingrained for the sake of achieving a superior generation, quality, and have a strong mind and character to face global challenges. Global developments in various scientific disciplines that are felt now certainly must be recognized by all parties, especially in the school environment. The school environment must make literacy culture the first and foremost door to build the progress of human civilization, society, and the Indonesian people. The mastery of literacy culture for these civilizations is important and should receive serious attention to make their lives more developed/modern, meaningful, and advanced both personally, socially, spiritually, and culturally. One of the ways to achieve and make students mentality is literacy culture is through literature. Literature becomes a creative work that has a distinctive or unique style in the use of its language. Literary creative works record a variety of phenomena in the social life of both real and fictitious ones that instill educational values. Through these various advantages, literary works must be used as an effective stimulus to foster a culture of student literacy. A STUDY ON THE PHENOMENA IN LESU-LULI`S POETRY IN BOBONARO MUNICIPALITY
Get PDFlesu - luli The aim of this research was to describe the history of Lesu-luli and to find the intrinsic elements in Lesu-luli’s Poetry. This research was a phenomenological research that using the descriptive method. In this study, the primary data was the script of lesu – luli’s poetry while the secondary data was the source text, such as literary theory books, the results of another literature research about poetry and culture, as well as the source from the internet. In this study, there were four informants. The data gathering from the informants was analyzed in three steps, namely data reduction and translating, data presentation and conclusion or verification. Based on the result of this study the history of “lesu-luli” is coming from the name of two grandfathers namely Mau Lesu and Lesu Tali. Mau Lesu came from uma Slelo while Lesu Tali came from uma Bere Ubu. Both of the grandfathers were a captain and a major. They had played the important role to struggle and liberate for the tradition of lesu luli. This struggle involved the eight households (that now become the eight of uma lisan or uma lulik) and also the kings. The kings were two peoples namely Talentuand Kornel. Talentu came from uma Bero Mau while Kornel came from uma Kali Ubu. Lesu – luli not only a sacred stone without meaning. Peoples in Meligo village made this place as a place where the people could ask the blessing of the ancestors and God. This was a culture and tradition that regularly conducted every year around September or October. Peoples in Meligo village believed that if the ceremony of lesu – luli was not celebrated, it would cause died, disaster, bad seeds, and drought (dry season). The intrinsic elements found in lesu – luli’s poetry were: (1) Structure. In the structural analysis, the writer found two elements line and stanza. The types of the stanza in lesu – luli’s poetry were a triplet, the quatrain, and the cinquain/quintet stanza. (2) Sound. The most type of sound found in lesu – luli’s poetry was ended rhyme sound. (3) Figurative language or diction. The style of language or diction that found in lesu – luli’s poetry was a formal language and the selection of words in this poem was very religious. Finally, the writer conclude that a culture must be protected because a culture is a foundation of human life
THE IMPACT OF SELF-ADJUSTMENT ON ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT OF THE STUDENTS
Get PDFThe purposes of this research is to discover the impact of self-adjustment on student academic achievement. The method that used in this study is a correlational study with random sampling. The subject of the research is Timorese student is studying in Indonesia, there are 180 samples. The data collection has used a scale of Likert. The date is analyzed with simple correlation. The result showed there is 46.1% of significant and positive correlation of self-adjustment on student academic achievement. It means if self-adjustment being conducted well, student academic achievement will increase
