Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to develop multimedia developed using Lectora Inspire software based on the Self-Learning method to increase high school students’nationalism awareness. The multimedia development uses the 4D model. To see the improvements students’ nationalism awareness, appropriate media are integrated into construction exposition texts learning and researched using classroom action research. The result is a Self-Learning method multimedia product built using the Lectora Inspire software feasible and inspiring student awareness to internalize the values of nationalism with an average score of 61.8 (cycle 1) and 84.5 (cycle 2)

PERSONIFICATION IN GELONG MARO AS ORAL LITERATURE TANA TORAJA COMMUNITY
Get PDFGelong Maro is a poem that is one of the oral literature of the Tana Toraja community. Gelong Maro has two unique aspects, namely in terms of pronunciation or delivery. Gelong Maro is delivered in a more upbeat and rhythmic rhythm so that the speaker can interpret or feel the presence of the Gods when singing maro poetry. Furthermore, the uniqueness of the spiritual aspect is Gelong Maro which contains expressions, prayers, and hopes that are very meaningful. Where the dancers chant maro poetry that aims to refuse reinforcements and can be a means of healing for the dancer or people who experience disease. The highlight of Gelong Maro is possession. The purpose of this presentation is to describe the meaning of personification in Gelong Maro as the oral literature of the Tana Toraja community. To understand the extent of personification, a qualitative study was conducted. The data source for the study came from the Gelong Maro video recording spoken by Tominaa Ne'Lumba. The techniques used in collecting data are listening and interview techniques. The results showed that the meaning of personification in Gelong Maro is containing disclosures that attach human traits to inanimate objects and abstract ideas and include the joints of Toraja people's lives
SCRUTINIZING PICTURES, ESSENTIALIZING ECOLOGICAL CARE: ANALYSIS OF ECOLOGICAL LINGUISTIC LANDSCAPE ON ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION POSTERS IN SCHOOLS
Get PDFEcologically oriented poster texts contain ecological information and messages. These texts can be categorized as ecocritical text. Environmental (care) posters, in particular, can be found in schools. This is due to regulatory reasons, school reputation, and school initiative. Environmental posters are potential media for character education which concerns with environmental care. In order to find the socio-ecological meaning of the poster texts in internal public spaces (schools) and use them as a stepping stone to strengthen the nation’s character, an integrated linguistic landscape and ecocriticism approach is used. The results show ecocritical posters in schools visually depict ideal places and harmonious conditions. In terms of ideas, the ecocritical posters have presented natural environment (non-human) as an existence that determines the survival of humans; therefore, humans and non-humans interests are legitimate respectively. Furthermore, the existing condition of the environment is communicated through a symbolic vision of damage and destruction
Translation Techniques Analysis of Commissive Speech Act in Political News
Get PDFABSTRACTLately, media are spreading everywhere and the information provided is accessed by all the people around the world. Therefore, that information should be presented accurately. This research paper is aimed at identifying the role of commissive speech act in political news. Journalism language is used to split the information on political news.A lot of politicians use promises in their speeches to gain sympathy and trust from their audience, society. Promise, threat, guarantee, offer, and refusal are examples of the utterances done in commissive speech act.This research paper employed a qualitative method by analyzing the descriptive text of political news. The data are taken from political news in both language of source and target text after that the researcher analyzes to examine commissive speech act found on political news text. In translating the political news, in order to get a good result in the target language, various techniques of translation are needed, such as transposition, generalization, amplification, and literal translation. There are no significant difficulties in translating political news. Still, if the message in the source text is not delivered correctly, the news will be considered a hoax.Keywords: commissive, speech act, political news, translation, equivalence
Online Peer Assessment in Nurturing Students Writing Skill
Get PDFABSTRACT:This study aims to investigate the process of online peer assessment implementation in a writing activity and to find out the students’ responses toward the implementation of online peer assessment in learning writing skills. This research uses a qualitative approach and case study as the research design. The data were collected with the triangulation data by observation, interview, and documentation. Observation checklist, in-depth interview, and documentation used as data retrieval instruments. The subject of this study is an English teacher and students of class XI TKJ 1 at SMKN 1 Rawamerta. The result of this study shows that teaching writing to the students’ responses toward the use of peer assessment was positive. It can be seen from the attitude and enthusiasm. Students agreed that peer assessment is a very effective technique used in writing activities. Keywords: Peer Assessment, Writing Skill
GANDRUNG EXISTENCE REALITY IN BANYUWANGI OSING COMMUNITIES
Get PDFGandrung is a distinctive art that has become the mascot of Banyuwangi tourism. Behind the fame of Gandrung's art today, there is a debate concerning the existence of Gandrung. The debate occurred between two groups who had different views about Gandrung. This study aims to dissect the reality of the existence of Gandrung based on these different views. The focus of this research is the reality of Gandrung in the Osing community in Banyuwangi. This research uses a qualitative approach. The data of this research are in the form of utterances sourced from the results of interviews with Gandrung art activist informants. Based on data analysis, it was found that Gandrung's reality in Banyuwangi included: (1) Gandrung and art for struggle, (2) Gandrung differences then and now, (3) Gandrung art is not a ritual, (4) Gandrung dancers are not highly educated, (5) Gandrung is considered far from religion, and (6) Gandrung is a good user of witchcraft
