    Latar belakang: Gigitansilang gigidepan jika dibiarkanberkembang akan dapat mengakibatkan terhambatnya pertumbuhan maksila dan tidak terkontrolnya pertumbuhan mandibula ke depan sehingga dapat menjadi maloklusi skeletal kelas III yang sang at merusak penampilan wajah. Perawatan sangat perlu dilakukan pada usia dini sejak periode gigi susu. Tujuan: Membahas perawatan gigitan silang gigi depan pada gigi susu menggunakan dataran gigitan miring dari resin akrilik yang dipasang secara cekat pada rahang bawah. Kasus: Dua kasus maloklusi pseudo kelas III dengan gigitan silang gigi depan pada periode gigi susu. Dirawat menggunakan dataran gigitan miring akrilik yang dipasang secara cekat pada gigi depan bawah. Kesimpulan: Maloklusi dapat terkoreksi dalam waktu 2 bulan, oklusi dapat dikembalikan ke relasi normalnya dan tetap dalam keadaan normal saat dilakukan observasi ketika semua gigi depan permanen telah erupsi.     Earthquake, tsunami and volcanic eruption are some of the various disasters thatfrequently hit in Indonesia. These disasters impact damage from small to large. These disasters also have a major impact on the balance of community lifes who are victims. Various efforts of reconstruction, rehabilitation and reconstruction are undertaken by governments, communities and various stakeholders. To succeed as expected, these efforts should be based on a spatial plan which is suitable and comprehensive. The spatial planning in disaster prone areas is indispensable in dealing with disasters before, during and after a disaster. Formulation and implementation of spatial plans are turned to face many problems sllch as limited and the loss of data due to disasters, as well as social and cultural conditions in disaster prone areas. To streamline the implementation of spatial plans and land use control need zoning regulation as a land use control instrument. Therefore, it is necessary to study the role of zoning regulation in the utilization of space and rebuilding in disaster areas prone. This study used a descriptive approach with literature sources. The results show that: (1) The Making of spatial plan on the basis of disaster mitigation in disaster prone areas is indispensable in dealing with disasters, before, during and after a disaster and should be complemented with zoning regulations, (2) The making of spatial plan and zoning regulations in the region after the disaster requires a special approach by modifYing the normal procedure, and (3) zoning regulation as a land use. control instrument control instrument guides the implementation of various activities related to disaster mitigation and need to be adjusted to the social, economic, cultural and characteristics of each disaster prone areas

    EFFECTOF THE IONTREATMENTONAN RNA HAIRPIN: MOLECULAR DYNAMICS STUDY

    Molecular dynamics has been employed to study the effect of ion treatment on the stability of 14-nucleQtide RNA hairpin of Coxsackievirus B3. Three AMBER force fields were used: AMBER94, AMBER98, and AMBER99, which showed no significant structural difference of the hairpin. Thereafter, we applied two different long-range electrostatic treatments that were reaction field and PME methods, and calculated the distribution of ions around the hairpin. Although the structural stabilities of the MD simulations using both methods were similar in 0.14 M Na+,ion environment around the hairpin was notably different. In particular, structural stabilition of the hairpin with increasing ion concentration and with ion Mi+ cannot be accommodated by simulations using reaction field method. Furthermore, the MD simulations using PME method suggested the strong similarity in structural and dynamical properties of the hairpin with 0.14 M Na+,0.50 M Na+, 1.03M Na+,and 0.08 M Mi+ concentrations.     EFFECTIVENESS OF TRANSBOUNDARY COLLABORATIVE CONSERVATION IN VIRUNGA NATIONAL PARKS

    The general aim was to assess the effectiveness of transboundary collaboration in the contiguously adjoining protected areas of Virunga massive. The specific objectives were, a) to identify the role of different stakeholders in the management of transboundary collaboration, b) to assess the level of collaboration between the three authorities and governments, c) to assess the participation of local communities in planning and management of the natural resources, and d) to establish the effectiveness of the approach in managing natural resources. The study employed both the primary and the secondary data sources. The questionnaires were used to collect data from officers and the discussion with relevant officials was conducted. A total 90 local community members were interviewed from the three countries. The secondary data were collectedfrom management of Mgahinga National Park, Parc Nationaux des Volcano of Rwanda, Parc National des Virunga IGCP staff and crossection of protected areas stakeholders and government institutions of the three countries. The Results indicated that regarding the collaborative management between the three authorities, it was found out that information exchange and joint patrol were the major activities. By 2003, in Ugandapoaching had reduced to 1 case and the wire snare to 54 which accountedfor 2.3% and 8.8% respectively from the 23.3% and 19.6% in 1997. However the figures in Rwanda reduce slightly due to the security situation. It was also discovered that the local communities of DR.     ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY BASED SHALLOW CRUSTAL DEFORMATION ANALYSIS IN AN ACTIVE SEISMIC ZONE

    This paper aims to assess the shallow crustal deformation in a highly seismic-prone zone of northeast India. For that purpose, Tripura University campus has been selected which is nearly 8 km away from Agartala city. Thefield work was conducted by using electrical resistivity meter. Vertical Electrical Sounding or VES method of resistivity survey was adoptedfor measuring the electrical resistivity and structural analysis of the study area. Total four VES points were recorded namely near the Department of Physics, Department of Geography and Disaster Management, Teachers\u27 Residential area and Girls\u27 Hostel. The recorded data was measured and two different electrical profiles were drawn i.e. (a) Physics building to Geography buildings and (b) teachers\u27 quarters to Girls\u27 Hostel. From the electrical resistivity profiles, a clear break in resistivity characters has been observed in the western part which is located near the Tripura University Girls\u27 Hostel. This clearly proves that a deformation occurred in this area below 4 m depth and it can be very dangerous if a high magnitude seismic slip takes place. From this observation, this hostel is detected as the most risk prone building. Apart from that, the teachers\u27 quarters near the Girls\u27 hostel have also been detected as equally risk prone. From this point of view it can be recommended that construction of heavy buildings should be restricted in Tripura University campus as the subsurface deformation zone can createfaulting dlling high magnitude earthquake

    HUBUNGAN ANTARA LEBAR DAN PANJANG LENGKUNG GIGITERHADAPTINGGI PALATUM PADASUKU JAWADENGAN METODE-PONT DAN KORKHAUS

    Latar Belakang. Setiap ras memiliki ciri-ciri khusus untuk suatu ras tertentu sehingga tidak dapat digunakan sebagai standar untuk ras yang lainnya. Pont dan Korkhaus menggunakan indeks yang didapatkan dari ras Kaukasoid sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian pada suku Jawa yang tergolong dalam ras Mongoloid. Sering dijumpai pasien dengan palatum tinggi mempunyai lengkung gigi yang panjang dan sempit. Hal itu menandakan adanya hubungan antara tulang kepala, maksila, dan palatum. Tujuan Penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai indeks lebar lengkung gigi, panjang lengkung gigi, dan tinggi palatum berdasarkan analisis Pont dan Korkhaus dan hubungan lebar dan panjang lengkung gigi terhadap tinggi palatum pada suku Jawa. Metode Penelitian. Penelitian bersifat deskriptif dan analitik. Sebanyak 31 subjek (8 laki-Iaki dan 23 perempuan) diambil dari mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Gigi Universitas Gadjah Mada angkatan tahun 2006-2009 dengan metode selectedsampling. Data diperoleh dari pengukuran pada model studi rahang atas meliputi lebar mesiodistal keempat insisivus, lebar interpremolar, lebar intermolar, panjang lengkung gigi, dan tinggi palatum sesuai dengan parameter yang digunakan oleh Pont dan Korkhaus. Analisis statistik deskriptif, uji t tidak berpasangan, dan uji regresi digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang diperoleh. Hasil Penelltian.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suku Jawa mempunyai indeks premolar Pont 82,62 :t 4,41indeks molarPont65,96:t 4,42indekspanjanglengkunggigi Korkhaus163,49:t8,02dan indekstinggipalatumKorkhaus36,29:t 4,42. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan.bahwa tidak ada korelasi antara lebar dan panjang lengkung gigi terhadap tinggi palatum (p>O,05). Keslmpulan. Tidak terdapat hubungan antara lebar dan panjang lengkung gigi terhadap tinggi palatum berdasarkan metode Pont dan Korkhaus pada suku Jawa:. Maj Ked Gt, Juni 201118(1): 6-1

    Latar Belakang. Aquaporin-5 (AQP5) di kelenjar submandibularis adalah salah satu anggota protein transmembran/ aquaporins (AQPs) yang memfasilitasi gerakan saliva sehingga mampu melewati membran sel. Di gingiva juga terekspresi aquaporin-3 (AQP3) yang diperkirakan juga berperan penting untuk memfasilitasi cairan sulkus gingiva sehingga dapat melewati jaringan ini. Sampai saat ini masih sedikit sekali informasi tentang dampak penggunaan radiasi ionisasi terhadap ekspresi aquaporins (AQPs), yang mendasari terjadinya xerostomia. Melalui pendekatan patologi molekuler, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek radiasi ionisasi terhadap ekspresi mRNA AQP5 pada kelenjar submandibula dan mRNA AQP3 gingiva. Metodologi. Penelitian dilakukan pada 20 Rattus novergicus keturunan kedua, sehat, jantan, usia 3-4 bulan, berat badan :I: 200 gr kemudian dibagi 2 kelompok, tanpa radiasi dan dengan radiasi C060dosis 10 gray pada ventral tikus. Pengambilan kelenjar submandibularis, dan gingiva dengan pembedahan. Seluruh sampel yang terkumpul dilakukan isolasi RNA dan dilanjutkan dengan pemeriksaan RT-PCR. Hasll. Penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perbedaan gambaran ketebalan band/pita ketika dibatasi oleh primer untuk identifikasi ekspresi mRNA AQP-5 kelenjar submandibularis tikus serta ekspresi mRNA AQP3 gingiva tikus akibat radiasi ionisasi 10 Gy. Kesimpulan. Terdapat penurunan ekspresi mRNA AQP5 kelenjar submandibula dan mRNA AQP3 gingiva akibat radiasi ionisasi ekspresi mRNA AQP5 pada kelenjar submandibula dan mRNA AQP3 gingiva. Tindakan operasi pembedahan pada daerah wajah akan mengakibatkan cacat wajah, gangguan fungsi bicara, penelanan, pengunyahan, estetik serta kejiwaan penderita dan dapat menimbulkan masalah pada rehabilitasinya. Tujuan. Penulisan laporan ini untuk menginformasikan bahwa defect atau cacat pada daerah wajah dapat direhabilitasi dengan pembuatan protesa maksilofasial dengan hollow bulb untuk mengembalikan fungsi. Kasus. Pasien laki-Iaki berusia 30 tahun datang ke RSGM atas rujukan dari R.S.Dr.Sardjito. Saat datang pasien merasa terganggu dengan adanya defect didalam mulutnya. Operasi hemimaxillectomy telah dilakukan oleh ~okter THT R.S Hasan Sadikin setahun yang lalu. Penanganan. Dilakukan pemeriksaan subyektif, obyektif, radiografi dan hasil diagnose terdapat defect klas IV Aramany. Rehabilitasi dapat dilakukan dengan pembuatan protesa maksilofasial dengan hollow bulb klas IV Aramany untuk mengembalikan fungsi dan menghindari akibat dari pasca operasi hemimaxillectomy lebih lanjut. Pemeriksaan retensi, stabilisasi, oklusi, estetik dan pengucapan dilakukan pada waktu insersi, begitu pula pada saat kontrol 1 minggu dan 1 bulan setelah pemakaian tidak ada keluhan. Kesimpulan. Pemakaian protesa maksilofasial dengan hollow bulb ini dapat berguna sebagai alat rehabilitasi yang dapat mengembalikan fungsi bicara dan mengunyah, estetik dan membantu proses penyembuhan jaringan dan psikologi penderita.     This article aims to examine how islah or reconciliation was achieved by Nahdlatul Wathan\u27 s elites. The conflict of NW in 1998 is one of the protracted conflicts in Lombok because the negotiation process of islahhas been failed. Both groups did not find an appropriate point or an ideal format of islah proposal. Through long way process of negotiation which is more than one decade finally both groups have achieved an agreement of islah on Mei 2010. In particular, this article aims to explore what are the backgrounds and what are motivations of NW islah between both groups? What are the efforts of NW elite for conducting islah during the conflict of NW? This article also aims to understand what the format of tslah that they have achieved and how they maintain the continuity of islah commitment and agreement? This article based on ethnographic research during two years (2008-2010) in East Lombok West Nusa Tenggara. In term of collecting and analyzing data it applied qualitative method.     PERTUMBUHAN MEGAURBAN KEDUNGSEPUR

    Over the last 20 years many urban areas have experienced dramatic growth, as a result of rapid population growth and as the world\u27s economy has been transformed by a combination of rapid technological and political change. In the cases of Kedungsepur, there is much more than a doubling. The inner zones are where the action is migrant come there from both the core and elsewhere in the country. Net migration in many cases contributes as much as two thirds of the population growth in these zones, whereas in the city cores, net migration contributes little to growth. A comprehensive model suggest that urbanization in Kedungsepur is influenced by structural and social demographic factors. So, the balance between managing urban discharges to environment and enhancing environmental resource capacity is the key determinant of the sustainability. Lebih dari 20 tahun banyak kawasan urban yang mengalami pertumbuhan drama tis sebagai hasil dari pertumbuhan penduduk yang sangat cepat dan transformasi ekonomi dunia akibat kombinasi dari perubahan teknologi dan politik. Dalam kasus di Kedungsepur, kawasan dalam didatangi para migran yang datang dari kawasan inti maupun dari pelosok negeri. Migrasi netto dalam banyak kasus memberi kontribusi bagi pertumbuhan penduduk di kawasan tersebut, sedangkan di kawasan inti migrasi netto kecil kontribusinya. Model yang komprehensif disarankan karena pertumbuhan megaurban Kedungsepur dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor demografi yang bersifat struktural dan sosial. Oleh karena itu, keseimbangan antara pelaksanaan manajemen lingkungan perkotaan dengan peningkatan kapasitas sumberdaya lingkungan merupakan kunci utama bagi keberlanjutan di kawasan ini
