    Mapping the Paradigm of Disabilities in Afghanistan from the Lens of Law and Policy

    Disability is a cross-cutting issue in Afghanistan. After four decades of armed conflict, it is unknown how many Afghans are disabled, and accurate data are scarce. Afghanistan has over a million people with disabilities, and their situation is generally poor. While war and landmines rendered hundreds of thousands of Afghans crippled, many more suffered birth defects, accidents, hunger, and diseases that could have been avoided but the inner lives of those with impairments do not concern most the others in an armed conflict state. The interactions with people who have disabilities have been a brief “Salam Alaikum” (Hello) and a respectful “Tashakor” or “Manana” (Thank you). However, many people with disabilities experience stigma, prejudice, and exclusion from society. Still, neither the government nor the international non-governmental organisation has disclosed the statistical information and challenges that differently-abled persons face in Afghanistan it could be male or female. This article looks closely at the legal system in Afghanistan that protects the people with disabilities that they need to engage in public life on an equal footing with other people. The current study uses a doctrinal approach with an emancipatory perspective on impairments to suggest possible solutions to alleviate and improve their situations. The study is limited to drawing the attention of NGOs and policymakers to mid the condition of people with disability from the breath and the length of Afghanistan. In this article, the study has focused mainly on the legislative framework and the issues that smoke screens the overreach of the law for the protection of disabilities and prohibit discrimination in public life, also exposing obstacles that impediment people who are physically or mentally challenged

    The purpose of this paper is to asses the economic impact of Self Help Groups as a development model for the poor in Yaraganahalli Panchayat, Mysore. We therefore seek answers to questions “What is the role of SHGs in improving the socio economic development of the poor?     Crystal Structure Characterization, Interaction Energy Analysis and DFT Studies of 3-(4-Chlorophenyl)-N-phenylquinoxalin-2-amine

    The title compound is synthesized, and characterized by spectroscopic and XRD methods. The compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system with the space group P2(1)2(1)2(1). The structure exhibits C-H center dot center dot center dot N intermolecular interaction and pi center dot center dot center dot pi interactions. Hirshfeld surface analysis was performed to determine the individual contributions of intermolecular contacts to the crystal packing. The structural and electronic properties of the molecule were investigated by density functional theory method with B3LYP hybrid functional. Intramolecular interactions involved in the crystal structure was analyzed through topological atom-in-molecules analysis and noncovalent interactions method. Molecular electrostatic potential surface shows the chemical reactive regions around the nitrogen and hydrogen atoms. GRAPHICS]

    The novel azo-azomethine 4-((E)-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-5-((E)-thiazol-2-yldiazenyl)benzylidene)amino)-1,5-dimethyl-2-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-3(2H)-one (HTDP) and its Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes were synthesized, and their structure was confirmed by using physicochemical techniques. The spectrochemical data indicate that the synthesized ligand is tridentate in nature. The antimicrobial, anti-diabetes (A-DM), and anti-mycobacterium tuberculosis (M-TB) activities against ligands and their metal complexes were screened. The complexes exhibited enhanced bio-efficiency inhibitory results when compared to the HTDP. Excess nitrate poses harmful effects on the ecological system and causes the blue baby syndrome. The modified glassy carbon electrode prepared using Co(HTDP)2 is used for electrochemical sensing of nitrate under different concentrations and displayed good electro-catalytic activity with long linear range (10-80 µmolL-1), sensitivity (0.172 μAμM−1 cm-2) and the LOD (limit of detection) found to be 3.333 µML-1 in PBS (pH 7) Further, the prepared sensor has more stability and showed less pouling property. © 2023 by the authors.     On subclasses of analytic functions involving q-derivative operator with negative coefficieents

    The purpose of this work is to introduce and study new subclasses of analytic functions using a new q-derivative operator. This operator generalizes the operators introduced by Al-Oboudi, Catas, Cho and Kim, Cho and Srivastava, Maslina Darus and R W Ibrahim, Sǎlǎgean, Uralegaddi and Somanatha. We investigate coefficient bounds, growth, distortion and closure theorems for the functions belonging to these classes.     On a Modular equation of degree 23

    On page 249 of his second notebook, Ramanujan incorrectly recorded and crossed out a modular equation of degree 23. B. C. Berndt has corrected and proved the same using the theory of modular forms. The main objective of this article is to prove the modular equation of degree 23 corrected by Berndt by employing the method of parametrization.     Molecular Docking and Dynamic Simulation Studies of Cu(II) Metal Complexes with Covid-19 main Protease

    Although the vaccine against the COVID-19 pandemic has been achieved, therapeutics still have to design to treat the infected patients. Several studies by the scientific communities are involved all over the world to develop a novel therapeutic agent against the COVID-19 virus. This study screened four β-diketone-based Cu(II) complexes against COVID-19 main protease to study their potential as an antiviral drug molecule. A molecular docking study revealed the excellent inhibitory activity of Cu(II) complexes with good binding energy values. Molecular dynamics simulation studies were carried out for 50ns to explore the selectivity profiles, conformational stability, and fluctuations of protein-ligand complexes during the simulation. Using DFT calculation, the highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals, electronic properties, and molecular electrostatic potential were investigated and compared with the docking results

    Sustainable approach of La doped CuFe2O4 nanomaterial for electrochemical lead and paracetamol sensing action with multiple applications

    This present research aimed to investigate the novel applications of synthesized La doped CuFe2O4 nanomaterial (LCF NMs) using renewable bio-fuel (Aegle Marmelos extract) by combustion process. The sensor applications were accomplished by modified electrode using LCF NMs with graphite powder and examined its excellent sensing action towards heavy metal (Lead content) and drug chemical (Paracetamol) substances. The thermodynamics of redox potential and super-capacitor behavior of LCF NMs were investigated through Cyclic Voltametric (CV) and Electrochemical Impedance Spectral (EIS) methods under specific conditions at scan rate of 1 to 5 mV/s. The heterogeneous photo-catalytic process of prepared NMs on Fast orange Red (FOR) dye-decolouration was investigated and noted its excellent degradation (91.7) at 90 min using 20 ppm of dye solution and 40 mg of synthesized samples under Sun-light irradiation. Further, the antibacterial activity of synthesized NMs is investigated against various strains of gram positive (Bacillus subtillis) and gram negative bacteria (Pseudomonas aeruginosa), which confirms that the LCF NMs have higher activity towards gram positive bacteria with an average inhibition zone of 19 mm. This synthesized LCF NMs is a multi-functional material with stable and eco-friendly materials. © 2023, Springer Nature Limited

    Distribution of U and 210PO in groundwater of Kodagu district, Karnataka, India

    Trace amounts of uranium along with its decay products are found in varying levels in natural soil, rocks, water and air. They are a matter of significant concern due to their carcinogenic nature. In the present work, the distribution of U and 210Po in groundwater of Kodagu District, Karnataka, India, was studied. The concentration of total U in groundwater samples was estimated using LASER and LED fluorimeter, and the activity of 210Po in groundwater was studied using electrochemical deposition followed by alpha counting method. The concentration of U and 210Po varied from 0.4 to 8.8 μgl−1 and 0.47 to 4.35 mBql−1, respectively. The ingestion dose due to U and 210Po in groundwater varied from 0.33 to 7.17 and 0.41 to 3.81 μSv y−1, respectively. The estimated U activity was found to be well below the standard safe limits of 30 μgl−1 in drinking water, as recommended by WHO and USEPA. The 210Po activity was low compared with the recommended 100 mBql−1 standard of WHO. © The Author(s) 2023
