Study on the impacts of radiant cooling on students’ thermophysiology and cognitive performance
北九州市立大学博士(工学)This study examines the effects of traditional air conditioning, radiant whole-wall cooling, and radiant wall/ceiling systems on occupants’ physiological regulation, thermal comfort, and cognitive performance. Integrating physiological sensing and attention evaluation methods, experiments were conducted across varying thermal conditions to analyze interactions among environmental parameters, physiological responses, subjective perceptions, and cognitive outcomes. Findings reveal how different radiant cooling configurations, particularly the placement of panels, influence student comfort and performance. The results provide practical insights for optimizing thermal environment design in modern buildings.doctoral thesi

Study on evaluation for the synergistic effect of urban waterbodies and greenery on thermal environments
北九州市立大学博士(工学)This study quantifies the synergistic impacts of Urban Blue-Green Infrastructure (UBGI) on urban microclimate, focusing on Tianjin, China. Combining field measurements, numerical simulations, questionnaires, dimensionless modeling, and neural networks, it explores how water bodies and greenery collaboratively mitigate urban heat. Two evaluation models are developed: the SESF model (assessing localized thermal environments based on waterfront distance and effective greening area) and the BGTE model (evaluating overall thermal environments using water area and greening coverage). User thermal comfort surveys establish thermal neutral temperature benchmarks for these models. The research addresses gaps in UBGI synergy mechanisms, providing dual-scale quantitative strategies to optimize blue-green spatial configurations, alleviate heat island effects, and enhance climate-resilient urban planning. Assessment of envelope deficiencies and climate-responsive improvements for indoor hygrothermal conditions of warehouse buildings for food in a humid subtropical region
北九州市立大学博士(工学)As environmental demands intensify, warehouse buildings in humid subtropical regions require climate-responsive design to maintain stable temperature and humidity, vital for food storage. This study investigates a dried food warehouse in a humid subtropical region, identifying building envelope deficiencies through monitoring, infrared thermography, and simulations. Results reveal inadequate insulation, poor airtightness, and thermal bridging cause high humidity and condensation, especially during colder periods. Simulation analyses indicate that a combined roof and floor insulation strategy—adding 100 mm of glass wool to the roof and 100 mm of expanded polystyrene to the ground floor—significantly reduces heat loss and fluctuations, lowering condensation risks while stabilizing indoor humidity. These findings underscore the importance of tailored insulation strategies and climate-responsive interventions, offering practical guidance for architects and facility managers seeking resilient, efficient warehouse environments.doctoral thesi
Toyota’s Autonomous Driving Technology: Comprehensive Overview of Future Opportunities and Challenges
During the last decade, the production and autonomous driving technology advancement at Toyota has revolutionized the automobile industry. Toyota’s autonomous driving technology has achieved significant milestones in research and development over the last decade. There is increasing interest in this field as deploying self-operating vehicles promises safer and more ecologically friendly transportation systems. The industry has witnessed the opening up and growth of several emerging markets. The automobile industry is now facing new and pressing challenges, as globalization, digitalization, and increasing market competition are changing the industry’s face. Toyota has been pursuing a dual path toward autonomous vehicles as part of a long-term goal of developing fully autonomous vehicles that would serve the elderly and disabled. This study provides an overview of current academic research and Toyota’s published and unpublished documents on the potential effects of autonomous vehicles. This paper presents a short overview of Japan’s automobile industry and highlights the industry’s challenges. This article presents an overview of viable challenges and opportunities resulting from developing autonomous vehicles, such as self-driving or driverless road vehicles. A study on enlightenment and intervention regarding awareness of gender roles among young people
本研究では、ジェンダーに関する意識を改善するために、性別役割分担意識が全国より地方の方が強い傾向がある調査結果を啓発動画として提示するフィールド実験を行った。実験参加者を2つの介入郡(啓発動画視聴のみ、啓発動画視聴とグループワーク)と1つの対照郡に分け、各郡に対し介入前後にジェンダーに関するアンケート調査を実施した。その結果、ジェンダーに関する10項目の質問のうち、2項目で介入効果が確認された。departmental bulletin pape
