BAGAIMANA MENGHUBUNGKAN PUBLIKASI ILMIAH DENGAN DATA PENELITIAN?
Full text linkScientific data repository has a main role in science because data can be reused, reproduced, and preserved in a long time. In Indonesia there is no institution that manage scientific data repository, generally they only manage publication such as books, journals and proceedings. This is because, most of research data is still managed by a researcher or research group. By using literature study and survey to the journal publisher, authors want to get an information on how to manage research data by publications. Furthermore, the result of literature study is compared to the survey result that produces an important point i.e journal publisher strongly agree to make a policy to the author to attach research data in every paper submitted. Most of journal publisher use Open Journal System (OJS) in managing journal articles, start from paper acceptance until paper publishing. Through this way, research data that attached will be automatically stored to the scientific data repository system based on Application Programming Interface (API)

No full textInformation retrieval requires an finding aid called catalog. Over time the catalog as a surrogate of documents increasingly to experience changes and paradigms. Starting from a concept that further exploit carrier cataloging to evolve in to a content cataloging, introduced as Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR). Without much realization it turns out Google search engine indirectly apply the concept of FRBR in the search results. The purpose of this paper is to show that the concept of cataloging that supports content management needs to be known. The method used in this paper is the literature review. The results of the study show that Google search engine shows the concept of FRBR in its search results

No full textThe research on the analisis of information literacy skills of undergraduate students of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman by using standards of information literacy competency ACRL has been conducted. It is aimed to know the literacy skill of undergraduate students of bacth 2014 and 2015. The skills include determination of the nature and scope of the required information; ability of access the information needed effectively and efficiently; evaluation of information and sources critically; capability of using the information to accomplish particular purposes; and understanding of economic, legal, and social aspects which are related to the use of information. This is a descriptive research with samples of undergraduate students of Unsoed as many as 334 students among 7,376 students. Thus, one variable analysis is used in order to see the value of the central tendency and then tested by using the rate value. The results showed that students’ information literacy skills measuring by the standard information literacy competency standards for higher education from ACRL are in the skilled category. Some standards need to be improved, e.g., the competency standard in determination of the nature and scope of the information which has the lowest score of 3,73. The others, the standard of competence to access information effectively and efficiently, with an average score of 3,88 as well as the competence standard to evaluate the information and its sources, with an average score of 3,84 are also need to be improved

The information sources available in library are selected and provided systematically makes people easy to find the needed information. However, some libraries suffer of lack of user so must be done library management for existance empowerment. This paper discuss implementation of “pencils” of public relations, it is a strategy in library empowerment conducted in Telkom University Open Library. Pencils of public relations is a strategy based on creating good relationship with relevant stakeholders which consists of publications, events, news, community involvement, identity tools, lobbying, and social investment. The research method used is descriptive qualitative and data collected by interview and focus group discussion. The results shows that the Telkom University Open Library has implemented “pencils” of public relations in strengthening its existence

Full text linkThis study aims to measure the level of productivity of authors affiliated with Andalas University in journal published by ScienceDirect, to illustrate the level of contribution and utilization rate of e-journal subscriptions at Andalas University. Descriptive bibliometric method is used to measure the researcher's performance. Data is retrieved over the last 10 years. Data collection techniques from the ScienceDirect use advanced search facilities, typing the "universitas andalas" and "andalas university" keywords in the search field for the affiliation category specific to the Journal article type. Author productivity is measured using descriptive statistical methods presented based on geographic (faculty), time period (year), publisher, author and collaboration pattern, and field of science. The results of this study indicate that although in the last 10 years, numbers of Andalas University publications in ScienceDirect trend tends to increase but in terms of the number is still small, only an average of 10 articles a year. The authorship collaboration pattern reached 0,82 with the number of collaborations with outside authors reaching 78%. Distribution of users is also not evenly distributed. Only two faculties have the most benefits of ScienceDirect, Faculty of Engineering and FMIPA

THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ARSIPARIS AND INDEPENDENT PROFESSIONAL RECORD MANAGER
Full text linkIn this article the author argues that the globalization and independent professionalization makes it imperative that archivists and arsiparis are engaged in a joint enterprise hence differ in the status of independence and the relationship within the government institution. This paper presents Participatory Action Research (PAR) which is an approach to research in communities that emphasizes participation and action. It seeks to understand the world by trying to change it, collaboratively and following reflection. Informants of seven record managers in Indonesia are the source of data on this research. In developing this argument, the common roots of archivist and arsiparis are examined its emergence of archives in Indonesia in the 1950s and their subsequent divergence over the next three decades. The author identifies the common ground that archivist and arsiparis share in dealing with recorded information. This common ground, which includes records integrity, archive provenance, and archive original order over time, is linked into a single unifying theme by the importance of the contextual relations. Arsiparis, record manager, and archivist are considered as two ways of managing document in organization under the same roof of governing government. The article concludes with a call for archivists and arsiparis to participate in the design of independence professionals, in order to ensure that archivists and arsiparis are acceptance within the competition of global market under the protection of independence professional association, and legitimized by the regulation of government under the constitution
