Get PDFMany research organization have been developing institutional repositories (IRs) to increase their researches impact, but in Indonesia there is only one research organization’s IR i.e. Indonesian Institute of Sciences (Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia/LIPI) Institutional Repository. Therefore, the study of this IRs is very important to encourage research organizations to develop their IRs. This study analyzed the quality and self-archiving facilities of LIPI and world best IRs website based on Webometrics ranking. The method used web analysis on content, features and policies. The result showed that best quality IRs has a mandatory regulations to deposit researcher’s scientific work as well as a clear policy on the type of content, copyrights, and access. These IRs also provide informative features and services to supporting researcher’s self-archiving as well as facilitating public to access the web
KEMAMPUAN MENELUSUR KATALOG DARING: HASIL PENGUJIAN KATALOG DARING PADA 10 PERPUSTAKAAN BESAR DI INDONESIA
Get PDFThe study aims to find out whether important search techniques could be employed to find records in the ten online public access catalogs (OPACs) tested. The following search tests are conducted: (1) test to determine the fields used as access point to records, and the number of fields searched when a two-word syntax was used; (2) search using one to three charaters, one word, and English stopwords; (3) search using boolean AND, OR or NOT and their combinations; (4) phrase search; (5) truncation search; and (6) search using filters (e.g., language or year of publication) provided by the OPACs. Results of the tests were: (1) access to records was available through title, author, subject, series, and note in eight systems; (2) a two-word syntax was searched only in one field in all systems; (3) English words and syntaxes of one to three characters were searched in eight systems; (4) boolean operators AND, OR and NOT and their combinations could be used only in one system; (5) search employing filters could be performed in three systems. It was concluded that nine of the ten OPACs could not provide optimal access to records. The OPAC is the only access to library collections for those who search through the Internet; therefore, complete search tests of its search facilities are required before a system is released. Further research is needed to find efficient search test methods that could be used by the developers and librarians to prove that a search facility functions
KAJIAN BIBLIOMETRIK TERHADAP ARTIKEL BIDANG TEKNOLOGI MINYAK DAN GAS BUMI DI INDONESIA (BIBLIOMETRIC STUDY OF THE OIL AND GAS TECHNOLOGY FIELD IN INDONESIA)
Get PDFEnergy problems is still a big topic and be a tough challenge in Indonesia so it is important to present a strategic move to seek a solution through research and study. Lembaran Publikasi Minyak dan Gas Bumi, Scientific Contribution Oil and Gas, dan Jurnal Teknologi Minyak dan Gas Bumi is the tool used by researchers to compile the results of innovative research and studies. To know the charge articles, authorship patterns, characteristics, and productivity of researchers used bibliometric study. During the period 2011-2013 as many as 91 researchers produced 159 articles. Most are the result of research on the exploitation of the technology by 71 articles (44.65%), while the other main focus of exploration technologies such as achieving 17 articles (10.69%). Coverage includes a research collaboration between countries, involving two to four researchers over the level of collaboration reached 61.01%. Overall oil and gas research activities dominated R & D institutions, universities and businesses.
ZOO INDONESIA: SUATU STUDI INFORMETRIKA
Get PDFThis study aims to determine the development of Tropical Fauna Journal Zoo Indonesia which includes article distribution, patterns of authorship and fauna research subject at issue in 1983-2014. This study uses informetricsanalysis of all articles in the journal. The results showed: (1) the distribution of articles on every volume published by Zoo Indonesia have increased with the last number is six articles on each volume to its publication; (2) authorship patterns show the dominant by single author of 46,08%; and (3) research subjects that most discussed is about arthropods amounted to 30,41%. The conclusion is Zoo Indonesia on his way continuously tries to improve its quality as a scientific journal by a system of e-journal and also continue to fix both physically and editorial system aspects in it
KINERJA PERPUSTAKAAN PDII-LIPI SERPONG BERDASARKAN INDEKS KEPUASAN PENGGUNA, RANKING ASPEK LAYANAN, DAN PERBANDINGAN DENGAN LEMBAGA SEJENIS
Get PDFPDII had a unit in Puspiptek Serpong called UPJ PDII Serpong in charge of providing access to scientific information. To improve its service quality, it was necessary to evaluate user’s perception on provided services and compared it to the other library services in Puspiptek area. Evaluation was done on user’s satisfaction in the aspects of content, personnel, facilities, and price. Data were collected using questionnaires in the form of Google Form. Questionnaires were distributed to researchers in Puspiptek Serpong area, which were from LIPI, BATAN, and BPPT. Data obtained were analyzed using statistic descriptive method. Performance aspects were analyzed using Shannon Entropy to get the weight and the rank performances. The Performance of UPJ PDII Serpong compared tothe similar institutions using the Wilcoxon Match Pairs Test. Result showed that the customer satisfaction consist of content availability, servicespeed, price, librarian’s attitude, facilities, suitability of the content had an index of satisfaction with the value of B (Good). The librarian’s attitude had the highest performance, followed by the availability and suitability of content, service speed, facilities, and price. The performance of UPJ PDII Serpong superior in all aspects compared to BPPT and BATAN library performance

Get PDFThis purposed of study to determine: 1) the types of information packaging products; 2) the process of information repackaging; and 3) the complied effort to the user information needs of smart scale enterprises (UKM) through PDII-LIPI information packs. Data of this study is a descriptive. Data collected by a discussion with the users or subscribers of information repackaging products of PDII-LIPI. The collected data are then be identified, analyzed, and interpreted the results and discussion chapter. The results of this study are known: 1) the types of information repackaging products of PDII-LIPI, namely: paket informasi teknologi, informasi kilat, pohon industri, panduan usaha, tinjauan literatur, fokus informasi indonesia, dan film animasi; 2) the process of making the package of information repackaging PDII-LIPI, namely the determination of topics, literature searching, analysis of the literature, making the design/template, duplication of information packing, and report generation; and 3) the efforts of institutions to complied the information needs of UKM through the product of information repackaging, namely: promotion, identification of needs, choosing the sources of information, product offerings, product evaluation utilization, and create innovative policies. In principle that the packaging of the information provided and created by PDII-LIPI had oriented by information needs of users, in particular to meet the UKM information needs

Get PDFThe main focus of this paper is to explore students’ understanding of information entrepreneurship. This is a qualitative study using grounded theory. Selection of the method is based on research conducted purpose, namely to build a theory based on the views of respondents. The steps taken to obtain the data are interviews, observation, and document review. The data is analyzed based on data analysis model constructivism form of transcription of data and interpretation of data through open coding, axial coding, and selective coding. Because that’s grounded theory meant to know in depth understanding of information entrepreneurship is mainly done by the students. The study also covers entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial activity information extracted information from the perspective of students. The conclusion of this study is an entrepreneur information definition. That defi nition is work in the fi eld of information that can be done independently or in groups, with flexibility in the time and place of the work, in the form of search activity information, creating web and library systems, consulting libraries, teachers, and librarians to make money, add experience and knowledge, as well as develop social activities
