A Qualitative Study on Job Satisfaction among Blind and Visually Impaired Employees
Studies related to job satisfaction among employees with Blind and Visual Impairments (BVI) had been
given less attention by researchers either locally or internationally. The objectives of this study were to\ud
investigate how employees with BVI perceived their job satisfaction, examine factors that lead to job
satisfaction and causes of job dissatisfaction. A total of 12 respondents working in public sector, semigovernment,
private and NGO in the Klang Valley took part in this qualitative study. The data
collected were through semi-structure and phone interview. Overall, the results demonstrated that BVI
employees generally satisfied with their work. The research finding also indicated that factors which
could lead to job satisfaction were relationships with colleagues, salary, benefits, recognition, physical
conditions at work place, and working conditions within the company., Finally, the study found that
causes of job dissatisfaction include feeling lonely and isolated; the management likes to see their
disability rather than their abilities, no promotion opportunities, co-workers felt that they just need a job
and salary, and no training is given. (Abstract by author

As such, it is the interest of this paper to discuss how Open University Malaysia
expands its higher educational programmes via collaboration with international
partners. Additionally, the paper discusses the function of the International
Operation office in managing the operational activities and sustainability of the
collaboration. Furthermore, a number of challenges that have surfaced in the

Open distance learning in heritage recognition and appreciation : building capacity and strengthening Malaysian livelihoods
Heritage appreciation has been easily neglected and been taken advantage of over the years despite its invisible primary role in the tourism industry. The value of heritage is invaluable and its loss is an irreversible loss to the nation as a whole. Heritage appreciation could play an important role in rural development, with mostly positive impact to the local and economy as the whole. Tourism has many potential benefits for rural areas because it can secure more jobs for non-metro communities, especially for those that are economically underdeveloped. Mainly because jobs in the tourist industry often do not require advanced training, local residents with few skills can readily work as food servers, retail clerks and hospitality workers. Tourism also not only offers business opportunities to local residents, but it can serve as an opportunity for tourists to return later to retire or start a business locally. Tourism can also enhance local quality life where tourism can serve as an important course of tax revenues for governments. [ABSTRACT BY AUTHOR
Advantages Of Internet Usage Among Final Year Diploma Nursing Students At Bestari University College, Setiu, Terengganu
Internet use has become very popular in education in recent years because it contains vast quantities of information that likely has a great impact on the student’s academic achievement. This study employed the survey method to explore individual students’ differences in Internet usage, impact on their general learning and improved English language skills. This is within the context of total time spent online during weekdays and weekends among 100 final year nursing students at Bestari University College, Setiu, Terengganu. The study also examined the relationship between Internet usage domains, Internet usage and socioeconomic status. Lastly the study ascertains the effect of Internet use on their academic performance. Results indicated that students used the Internet mainly because they perceived the Internet to be useful to their job tasks, secondarily it is enjoyable and lastly it had an impact on their general learning especially their English language skills. Findings demonstrated that while usefulness was consistently perceived higher among the older students for all usage domains, the younger students perceived more on enjoyment. The results revealed no significant gender differences in all four aspects of internet usage. Findings implied that both genders had equal rate of computer utility and possessed almost comparable knowledge about Internet usage and its potentials. In fact, Internet usage neither depends on students’ place of residence nor socioeconomic status. However Internet usage when perceived for learning purposes was closely associated to academic achievements

we have examined socioeconomic attributes on the open and distance learning
mode in Malaysia using the multinomial logit model. The findings revealed that,
male respondents with higher income are significant for the programme and
facilities offered as compared to female respondents. The attribute of institution
reputation too has increasing positive value for both levels for respondents who
are single with higher income. While the attribute of facilities offered is significant
for male with higher income. The highest level of attribute for programme offered
