    Soft skills for employment

    No full text
Soft skills are really important for each worker, especially nowadays, because they are necessary to get the jobs and make that development happen. Within the framework of soft skills, one can mention cooperation and the ability to realize it in any form and at any level. Leadership, on the other hand, is an important soft skill that people at a higher level must possess and understand as such in order to know how to develop and help develop others

The role of methods in the postmethod era

Throughout the history of language teaching a lot of linguists, psychologists and educators have been trying to create the best method. The main problem in this search for the best method is that they were looking for a universal method that would be appropriate for all teachers and learners and all contexts. Numerous methods and approaches have been developed, some of which lasted for a long time while others were short-lived, some had an enormous influence on language teachers and learners, while others were discarded as impractical or inefficient, some were widely accepted, while others were severely critisized. However, despite their shortcomings, every method and approach can offer some valuable principles and insights and provide useful activities and techniques that can be incorporated into any language teaching methodology. However, during the last three decades a number of linguists have started questioning the notion of method and the wisdom of searching for the best method. It seems that the zest for the search for the best method has been replaced by the zest for completely discarding the concept of method. Postmethod pedagogy has become the hot topic of discussions and debates in the field of language teaching and learning. The aim of this paper is to present and discuss the characteristics of postmethod pedagogy and the role of methods in the postmethod era

Kantian economics, impure altruism, Berge equilibrium, Arrow-Lind principle, with linear-cost equilibrium

In this paper we will review some results in Kantian economics, (im)pure altruism (warm-glow model), Berge equilibrium altruism and social welfare Arrow-Lind principle and a linear-cost-share equilibrium which is a special case of a Lindahl equilibrium. A strategy profile is a Kantian equilibrium if no player would like all players to alter their contributions by the same multiplicative factor. We study Kantian equilibrium here in Laffont,1975 setting of macroeconomic constraints. Simulations show Kantian equilibrium is in the upper part of efficiency curve, while the ethics utility is maximized, meaning that Kantian equilibrium is efficient but with ethics taken into consideration. Also, as in the case of Nash equilibrium individual utility is more maximized than societal. In a setting with money neutrality as macroeconomic constraint, impure altruism equilibrium or warm-glow equilibrium is at the same point as Berge equilibrium and that is the highest point of efficiency utility line. Kantian and Nash equilibrium are on the same point in this setting while modified Lindahl equilibrium (linear-cost share equilibrium) is as efficient as Pareto equilibrium, other equilibriums are all settled on the efficiency line except for the Kantian, Nash that also are on the warm glow utility line. Pareto equilibrium together with Kantian-Nash equilibrium are on warm glow, and ethics utility line. In the second simulation Kantian is same as Pareto and modified Lindahl equilibrium, impure altruism remains the most efficient equilibrium, Berge equilibrium now is the second most efficient. If marginal cost (Arrow-Lind principle) line crosses sum of marginal benefits (Samuelson condition), then the best equilibrium based on welfare is Nash Equilibriu

    Selecting a mining warehouse location

Choosing the optimal location for building a new or renovating an existing mining warehouse is of great importance, especially when it comes to a company that has multiple mines in different locations and needs to build one main mining warehouse. Multi-criteria decision-making finds wide application in solving many problems in mining, such as selecting the location of a main mining warehouse. When multi-criteria decision-making is applied to solve a problem, a larger number of criteria are taken into account that affect the alternatives differently, and the optimal alternative is chosen based on them. In this paper, a methodology for optimal selection of the location of the main mining warehouse will be developed using seven multi-criteria decision-making methods. After the problem has been solved using all seven methods, the resulting rankings will be compared and the optimal location of the main mining warehouse will be selected

Language Learning in Synchronous and Asynchronous forms of Distance Education

This paper explores the role of synchronous and asynchronous distance education (DE) in the development of the four core language skills—speaking, writing, listening, and reading—and examines the crucial role of the teacher in facilitating effective language acquisition in an online environment. It highlights how different DE formats impact the mastery of productive (speaking and writing) and receptive (listening and reading) skills. The paper argues that synchronous DE is particularly beneficial for developing speaking and listening skills due to real-time interaction and immediate feedback, while asynchronous DE supports writing and reading skills by providing students with more time to reflect and complete tasks at their own pace. Furthermore, the paper emphasizes the evolving role of the language teacher in DE, who must adapt to technological advancements, engage students through various interactive and task-based activities, and foster self-regulated learning. The findings suggest that a blended approach combining both synchronous and asynchronous DE methods is most effective for language learning, as it allows for the development of all four language skills in a balanced and integrated manner

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the development of organic agriculture in North Macedonia and propose key policies, legal adjustments, and strategic directions necessary for its harmonization with EU Regulation 2018/848. The plan is proposed to support sustainable growth of the organic sector, enhance rural development, and ensure compliance with European standards. A comparative analysis and adaptation of specific articles from the regulation, to the conditions of these areas in North Macedonia are used as methodologies applied in the preparation of the draft plan. Key words: organic, agriculture, sustainable, rural developmen

Various Designs of Spoke-Type Permanent Magnet Motor for Performance Optimization

Obtaining an optimal motor design is not always a simple task, considering that it involves designing a model with many interrelated parameters, where each modification significantly affects the motor’s performance characteristics. This paper analyses numerous synchronous motor models with embedded magnets of spoke-type, obtained by varying several parameters (magnets and motor length, magnets width, and number of conductors per slot) within defined limits in a software module optimetric analysis. Each combination of these varied parameters results in a different motor model with corresponding performance characteristics. From the obtained models, the best solutions are identified, i.e.,combinations of parameters that result in high efficiency while simultaneously minimizing the consumption of magnetic material and reducing cogging torque. The conducted analysis revealed that there is more than one model that can be considered as optimal, especially when considering multiple objectives, such as high efficiency, low magnetic material consumption, reduced dimensions, and low cogging torque. The application of optimetric analysis also enables the execution of a sensitivity analysis, examining the impact of each varied parameter on the corresponding objective function. The presented methodology offers the designer a range of solutions that can be identified as optimal, providing greater flexibility in the construction of appropriate prototypes

Comparative assessment of water quality for irrigation in the karst area of the river basin of Slatinska Reka

This study used available hydrochemistry data to determine the suitability of water bodies in the lower karst area in the river basin of Slatinska Reka for irrigation. Surface rivers Krušeska Reka, Markoska Reka (two points), and Slatinska Reka, as well as the springs Slatinski Izvor and Solenica, were observed between December 2011 and November 2013, and water samples were taken from each point. Irrigation quality parameters, such as Sodium Absorption Ratio (SAR), Sodium Percentage (Na%), Magnesium Adsorption Ratio (MAR), Kelly Ratio (KR), and Total Hardness (TH), were analyzed for suitability for irrigation. All analyzed parameters pointed out that surface rivers and the karst spring Slatinski Izvor were suitable for irrigation, whereas most of the water samples taken from the Solenica spring were not suitable for irrigation purposes. Also, the Solenica spring downstream of Markoska Reka influenced the irrigation properties of the river water, especially during the low waters. The process of karstification had a significant impact on the chemical composition of the water in the basin. Key words: irrigation water quality; river basin of Slatinska Reka;l karst are
