A Generic Taxonomy for Steganography Methods

    No full text
A unified understanding of terms is essential for every scientific discipline: steganography is no exception. Being divided into several domains (e.g., network and text steganography), it is crucial to provide a unified terminology as well as a taxonomy that is not limited to few applications or areas. A prime attempt towards a unified understanding of terms was conducted in 2015 with the introduction of a pattern-based taxonomy for network steganography. In 2021, the first work towards a pattern-based taxonomy for all domains of steganography was proposed. However, this initial attempt still faced several shortcomings, e.g., remaining inconsistencies and a lack of patterns for several steganography domains. As the consortium who published the previous studies on steganography patterns, we present the first comprehensive pattern-based taxonomy tailored to fit all known domains of steganography, including smaller and emerging areas, such as filesystem, IoT/CPS, and AI/ML steganography. To make our contribution more effective and promote the use of the taxonomy to advance research, we also provide a unified description method joint with a thorough tutorial on its utilization

Formulation and characterization of propranolol hydrogel with sodium alginate for the treatment of infantile hemangioma

    Get PDF
This study focuses on the development and characterization of a sodium alginate hydrogel as a topical formulation for release of propranolol hydrochloride (PPL HCl). Our research indicates that local or transdermal drug administration is a viable alternative to oral administration, especially for drugs like oral propranolol, which undergoes first-pass metabolism. The primary objective of this study was to formulate a product for the local delivery of propranolol hydrochloride for the treatment of infantile hemangioma, exhibiting favorable physicochemical properties. It was conducted in two phases: preformulation and formulation. In the preformulation phase, initial gel formulations were developed with different concentrations of propranolol hydrochloride (1%; 1.5%; 2%; 3%) gelled at various temperatures and stirring rates. The results demonstrated that high preparation temperatures disrupted the gel structure, whereas gradual and controlled gelation led to mechanically more stable gels. The inclusion of CaCl₂ in the matrix improved the mechanical properties and consistency of the hydrogels. Gel structure degradation (syneresis) was observed after the addition of propranolol hydrochloride, necessitating the use of a buffer in further formulation development. Buffer systems (NaOH and NaHCO₃) regulated the pH value of the medium, leading to improved mechanical properties of the gel structure while also exhibiting surfactant-like effects. They did not interact with the active substance and contributed to nearly identical physicochemical characteristics in the formulation analyses. In the formulation phase, two optimized formulations were developed with 2% sodium alginate and 1% propranolol hydrochloride, where the pH value was adjusted to physiological values (6.98 and 7.04) by adding NaOH and NaHCO₃. The analyses demonstrated pH stability over 14 days, good spreadability, maintained texture, and аппроприате microbiological purity. Spectrophotometric analysis confirmed the presence and stability of propranolol hydrochloride within the hydrogel matrix. Due to the observed higher absorption in the gel where NaOH was used as a buffer (pH 7.04) compared to the other with NaHCO₃ (pH 6.98), we concluded that this formulation potentially exhibits better stability or a different interaction of propranolol with the gel matrix depending on the pH value of the system

Fibrous epulis - a case report

    Get PDF
Fibrous epulis is a benign tumour of the gingiva, commonly appearing in the area of the interdental papilla as a result of local chronic irritation, improper dental restorations, carious teeth, subgingival deposits, or a combination of all these factors. The aim of our research is to present a clinical case of fibrous epulis in the upper jaw. A 66-year-old male patient was admitted to the Oral Surgery Clinic due to the presence of a nodular formation localized in the anterior region of the left edentulous alveolar ridge in the upper jaw. Clinical examination revealed the presence of a tumoroid lesion measuring approximately 10 mm. The treatment is surgical excision of the lesion when it presents a functional or aesthetic problem for the patient or when there is a need for differential diagnosis in relation to gingival hyperplasia, papilloma or other benign or malignant neoplasms. Clinical findings and histopathological analysis confirm the diagnosis. The histopathological finding is the golden standard that concludes the initial clinical diagnosis and differentiate possible histopathological types of epulis. Evaluation of dental and facial midlines among dental students

    Get PDF
Objectives: Ensuring the alignment of the facial midline with the maxillary dental arch midline is considered as essential aesthetic principle in dental prosthetic rehabilitation, as symmetry plays a key role in achieving facial harmony and the overall success of esthetic treatments. The objective of this study was to determinate the coincidence of the dental and facial midlines in young individuals. Methods: The study included 110 dental students of both sexes aged 18-22 years who had never been subjected to any dental treatment. Frontal full-face photos were taken with teeth in occlusion using professional digital camera Nikon Z6 II–24.5 MP from distance of 100cm each. Specialized software programs were utilized to analyze the alignment of the facial and dental midlines. SPSS Version 23.0 was used for data analysis with level of significance set at 0.05. Results: The results indicate that the midline is situated in the exact middle of the mouth in approximately 60% of the students. Most of the study participants displayed a deviation of 0–1 mm between the facial midline and the midline of the anterior teeth. The coincidence of the maxillary and mandibular midlines was 38.1%. Left-sided deviations were also recorded more frequently. Conclusion: The coincidence of the maxillary and mandibular midlines was observed in just over one-third of the participants. The facial midline aligned with the anterior teeth midline in approximately 60% of the sample, with left sided deviations being more frequent. Keywords: Dental midline, Facial midline, Facial esthetic

Индивидуализирана фитотерапија и модерни аспекти на улогата на фармацевтот во издавање на хербални лекови во аптека

    Get PDF
