Bentuk-Bentuk Pesan Dakwah dalam Kajian Al-Qur’an
This paper aims to examine the form of da’wa message in the al-Qur’an. It argues that the forms of proselytizing (da’wa) message in the Qur’an encompass; Qur’anic verses, prophetic tradition, scholar’s opinions, research results, stories, and news. The Qur’anic verses play a major role in regard with da’wa message due to its distinctive functions, namely as guidance or humankind, criterion between right and wrong, evaluation standards for other holy scriptures, and as a medium of enlightenment. Ḥadȋth of the Prophet Muhammad, Saw., also considered as form of da’wa message because it interpret some verses or make clarifications of ambiguities which hide in some verses. While ulema roles is as a reference for religious studies as well as stories and news constitute the proselytizing message
The Discourse of Friday Sermon in Indonesia: A Socio-Cultural Aspects and Language Function Studies
This research attempted to explain the Friday sermon by analyzing the structure of its discourse, the selection and composing of its topics, the functions of its codes and code-switching, the function of its speech acts, and the characteristics of its language and specific terms. By using descriptive and qualitative, this study found that the Friday sermon contained oral discourse which has a regular and specific structure. The strategies of the composition of the topics consisted of quotation, storytelling, usage of popular expressions. Whilst the forms of the codes and code-switching involve Arabic, Indonesian, local languages [Javanese], and English languages. In addition, the utterances of the sermon contain all forms of speech acts and various terms appeared in the sermons indicating that the Friday sermon functions as a register or usage of language in a particular field
Retorika Islam Nusantara Elit Intelektual NU di Media Online
This article reports on study of NU’s elite intellectual rhetoric on Islam Nusantara published by NU’s official web portal. Using Stephen Toulmin's rhetorical analysis and the Teun A. van Dijk's text analysis, the findings illustrate that the rhetoric of NU's elite intellectuals on Islam Nusantara, conveyed through their articles, frequently presents the background attributed to the NU's 33rd summit and provides argumentation based on a local situation that are directed to make the conclusion that Islam Nusantara is a distinctive Islam of NU. It is not aimed to localize Islam, but it attempts to understand and perform Islamic teachings, without putting aside the place where Muslims are held and embraced
Konstruksi Wacana Kuliah Gender Lintas Agama di Media Lokal Aceh
This study aims to find out the discourse construction of an interfaith gender lecture published in Serambi Indonesia. Using Van Dijk's discourse analysis model on three news reports during 7-24 January 2015 and on inter-views with three journalists and an editor as well as three readers of Serambi Indonesia, the study concludes that there is a unified discourse found in the elements of text, social cognition and social context which has produced negative impressions towards Rosnida Sari and recovered the image of UIN Ar-Raniry. In short, the news contruction of Rosnida Sari tends to represent her image as a less responsible person and should be academically punished and it reinforces prior discourse depicting her as the cult practitioner
Problematika Dakwah di Kalangan Minoritas Muslim Desa Poka Kota Ambon
This paper provides an in-depth analysis of proselytizing problems and strategies among the Muslim minority in Poka Village, Ambon City. Using qualitative des–criptive method, this research concludes that many da'is in Poka village have faced two main problems both internal and external issues. The former related to the number of da'i, the role of da'wah institutions which is not optimal, and the lack of community solidarity in propagating Islam. In addtion, many da’is do not possess a high Islamic intellectual quality and a good quality of education. The latter problems related to the lack of government attention on Islam as well as the dominant influence of non-Muslim environments. Korelasi Komunikasi Interpersonal Efektif & Kualitas Layanan Tim Medis terhadap Kepuasan Pasien
Effective medical staff-patient interpersonal communication is a central clinical function. This study was a survey of 96 patients at Claudia Bagan Batu Hospital, Riau attempting to contribute the role of interpersonal communication and a hospital's service quality towards patient satisfaction. By utilizing correlation analysis between variables and regression to each variable, this study has found a strong correlation between variable of interpersonal communication and variable patient satisfaction (0.805) and the moderate correlation between the variable of service quality and patient satisfaction (0.639). In short, it has revealed that there has been a strong influence between interpersonal communication and service quality at Claudia Bagan Batu Hospital on patient satisfaction (87.8%)
THE INTERFAITH YOUTH CAMPAIGN FOR A CULTURE OF PEACE (A Case Study of an Interfaith Youth “PELITA” from Cirebon)
Violent conflict in the name of religion has been causing anxiety amongst societies, including the youth in Cirebon and surrounding areas. Through the efforts of peace-building, a number of youth of different faiths, beliefs and cultures, has declared as an Interfaith Youth Organization or popularly known as “Pelita”. They campaign culture of peace as one of the peace-building efforts with a variety of activities. Pelita is not only utilizing conventional campaign, but also modern campaign by utilizing mass media, social media, and blogs. The conventional campaign hold through a variety of events or activities considered are the best able to persuade the society such as roadshow and peaceful demonstration. Pelita's campaign strategy is also incorporating elements of local wisdom. By using campaign culture of peace, Pelita has been able to encourage the appreciation, participation and minimize the destructive elements of solidarity and community integration

Indonesia is a country with diversified ethnics, religions and race. There are many ethnics, religion and race, unconsciously, in need of tolerance which otherwise can result in conflict and disunion. Mass media is one of instrument in mass communication process and it is the filter to select any news and sort of conflicting event to be presented.Objective of this study is to see how conflict-presenting mass media with peace journalism will be one of alternative solution in han dling conflicts in Indonesia. Transcendental communication is often assumed as a exclusive form or pattern of communications, even though transcendental communications laden with human values inclusively. KiaiKanjeng is a group or arts community especially in music, which with unique deemed to have values in their transcendental communications and so far can still exist amid the mainstream of the music industry today. Research on Transformation of Meaning of Transcendental Communications Cak Nun to KiaiKanjeng is an attempt to formulate a transcendental communication to the ‘soft’ implementation area, so communication in transcendental area is not something complicated to understand. The method used for this study is a qualitative research with phenomenological methodology. The results obtained from this study is the transformation of meaning of the transcendental communication Cak Nun to KiaiKanjeng; understand, feel and believe that what is happening is part of the process from Journey by Allah. WHEN RELIGION MEETS THE INTERNET (Cyber-Religion and the Secularization Thesis)
This article examines the presence of cyber-religion, the worldwide increasing use of the Internet for religious purposes, in which religion is migrating online as its strategies of adaptation and shaping a new environment. It aims to look at the phenomenon of religious migration to virtual world and its possible implications for secularization thesis. The article argues that the massive emergence of online religion serves a (another) counterpoint to the prediction of the end of religion in modern society as proposed by the proponents of secularization theory. It also claims that religious use of the Internet among religion surfers has no significant impacts on the real world organized religions and their religious communal identity
