    Feltevésünk szerint az álhírek rendelkeznek olyan nyelvi és nyelvhasználati jegyekkel, amelyek megkülönböztetik őket a valódi hírektől. Előzetes kvalitatív elemzések alapján a felszólításokat tartalmazó megnyilatkozások nyomásgyakorló szerepe ilyen jellemzőnek tekinthető. A felszólításokat tartalmazó megnyilatkozások előfordulási gyakoriságára és eltérő funkciójára vonatkozóan az alábbi hipotéziseket fogalmaztuk meg: (i) az álhírekben több a közvetlen felszólítás, mint a valódi szövegekben a nyomásgyakorlás erősebb motivációja miatt, és (ii) az álhírekben vs. a valódi hírekben a közvetettség és erősség szempontjából is lehet eltérés a direktívák között.     Synthesis and Antimicrobial Evaluation of (+)-Neoisopulegol-Based Amino and Thiol Adducts

    A library of neoisopulegol-based amino and thiol adducts was developed from (+)-neoisopulegol, derived from commercially available (−)-isopulegol. Michael addition of different nucleophiles towards its highly active α,β-unsaturated γ-lactone motif was accomplished, resulting in diverse amino and thiol analogs in stereoselective reactions. Then, the lactone ring was opened, with NH3 and benzylamine furnishing primary amide and N-benzyl-substituted amide derivatives, respectively. The in vitro antimicrobial effect of prepared compounds was also explored. The results revealed that naphthylmethyl-substituted β-aminolactone, the most promising compound, displayed selective inhibition for the Gram-positive bacteria S. aureus with an MIC (minimum inhibitory concentration) value of 12.5 μM.     Quinoline Quest: Kynurenic Acid Strategies for Next-Generation Therapeutics via Rational Drug Design

    Background: Quinoline-derived metabolites exhibit notable chemical complexity. What causes minor structural alterations to induce significant changes in disease outcomes? Historically, eclipsed by more straightforward scaffolds, these chemicals serve as a dynamic hub in tryptophan metabolism, linking immunomodulation, excitotoxicity, and cancer. However, many of these compounds struggle to cross the blood–brain barrier, and we still do not fully understand how certain structural changes affect their bioavailability or off-target effects. Thus, contemporary research highlights halogenation, esterification, and computational modeling to enhance structure–activity relationships. Summary: This narrative review emphasizes the integration of rational drug design, multi-target ligands, and prodrug methods in enhancing quinoline scaffolds. We explore each molecule’s therapeutic promise, refine each scaffold’s design, and develop each derivative to maximize clinical utility. Translating these laboratory findings into clinical practice, however, remains a formidable challenge. Conclusions: Through the synthesis of findings regarding NMDA receptor antagonism, improved oral bioavailability, and reduced metabolic instability, we demonstrate how single-site changes might modulate excitotoxicity and immunological signaling. Advancing quinoline-based medicines will yield significant advancements in neurology, psychiatry, and oncology. This enlarged framework fosters collaborative discovery, engages various audiences, and advances the field towards next-generation disease-modifying therapies. Robust preclinical validation, patient classification, and comprehensive toxicity evaluations are crucial stages for achieving these extensive endeavors and fostering future therapeutic discoveries globally

    Mongolian Adolescents’ Sexual Behavior and Beliefs in Light of Their Health Risk Behavior, Social Support, and Well-Being

    Adolescents’ health risk behavior may have a longstanding impact on their later adult life and health. The aim of this cross-sectional study is to report on health risk behaviors and sexual attitudes in a sample of Mongolian adolescents (N = 312) in light of their levels of social support and well-being. Measurements were derived from the Health Behavior in School-aged Children (HBSC), including substance use and sexual behavior, whereas social support from parents and peers was measured with the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Student well-being was evaluated using the WHO Well-Being Questionnaire (WBI-5). The frequency of current smokers was 13.1% (boys: 18.9%, girls: 10.2%; χ2 = 4.61, Phi = −0.12, p = 0.032). The prevalence rate of current alcohol consumption was 11.2% (boys: 14.2%, girls: 9.7%; χ2 = 1.38, Phi = −0.07, p > 0.05), similar to the nationwide results. The percentage of students who have ever had sexual intercourse was 6.4 (12.4% of boys and 3.4% of girls, χ2 = 9.33, Phi = 0.17, p = 0.006), similar to Central Asian countries included in the HBSC survey. Boys were more likely to associate sexual activity with self-esteem, intimacy with a partner, and positive perceptions among peers. Conversely, girls expressed greater concern about the negative consequences of sexual activity, such as STDs and pregnancy. Social support from the family played a protective role in frequencies of smoking and drinking. However, levels of the social support subscales did not differ by the students’ relationship status or previous sexual intercourse. These results suggest that there is a need for a complex prevention program to avoid increases in Mongolian adolescents’ smoking and drinking and promote their healthy sexual attitudes and behavior
