The purpose of this article is to analyze the role of local bureaucracy in increasing competitiveness and local investment. Research method is library research.The result show that bureaucracy is a central influenced in increasing competitiveness and local investment. PENGARUH TIGA DIMENSI INTANGIBILITY PADA PERCEIVED RISK (STUDI TERHADAP PENGGUNAAN INTERNET)
This study examines the influence of the three dimension of intangibility : physical, mental, and general intangibility) on perceived risk. In the model, the influences of these variables were moderated by knowledge and involvement.Survey was conducted to collect the data. Sample consists of 170 undergraduate students in business management who was taken by simple random sampling technique. Structural Equation Model (SEM) was used to explain the relations among of these observed variables.The results indicate that the perceived risk was influenced by mental intangibility and generality, moreover knowledge and involvement are variables that were found to moderate the influences of these variables. PENGARUH DAUR HIDUP PERUSAHAAN TERHADAP KEPUTUSAN STRUKTUR MODAL
This research investigate the effect of corporate life cycles on capital structure decision and analyze whether capital structure that considering corporate life cycles influence the company\u27s performance. Using manufacturing companies that listing in Jakarta Stock Exchange in 2006 this research found that : (1) corporate life cycle influence capital structure decision only in the big-size companies. The big-size firms use larger debt ratio when the companies enter into growth level of life cycle; (2) capital structure decision that considering corporate life cycles do influence the company\u27s performance, when using cumulative abnormal return as a proxy of company\u27s performance.In the big-size firms, the stockholders give negafive reaction to the increase of debt in the pioneering level of life cycles. In the medium-size firms, the stockholders give positive response to the increase of debt in the mature level of life cycles. In the small-size firms, the stockholders give positive response to the increase of debt in the growth level of life cycles. Capital structure decision that considering corporate life cycles do not influence the company\u27s performance, when using return on investment as a proxy of company\u27s performance. DESENTRALISASI DAN GAYA KEPEMIMPINAN SEBAGAI VARIABEL MODERATING DALAM HUBUNGAN ANTARA PARTISIPASI PENYUSUNAN ANGGARAN DAN KINERJA MANAJERIAL
The relationship between budget participation and managerial performance has been attracting researchers attention. However, the result of previous studies on relationship between budget participation and managerial performance has been often contradictory. One way to reconcile these conflicting result is to investigate the hypothesized relationship utilizing a contingency approach.The purpose of this research is to examine the existing relationship between budget participation and managerial performance. Empirically examined whether decentralisafion and style of leadership are moderating variable that influence the relationship between budget participation and managerial performance. The sample of this research are taken from hybrid public sector organization population in Yogyakarta. From 350 sent questionnaires, there are 112 respondents than send their answer back. Only 101 questionnaires that fulfill the requierements to be processed in final analysis.The empirical result using simple regression show that budget participation influence the managerial performance. But empirically result using residual approach show that a fit between budget participation with contingent factor (decentralisation and style of leadership) does not effect managerial performance significantly.Keywords: Budget participation, Managerial performance, Desentralization, Style of leadershi
PENGARUH IKATAN HUBUNGAN TERHADAP KESETIAAN PELANGGAN
This research explains about the effects of three relationship bondings, namely financial bonding, social bonding and structural bonding to consumer\u27s trust that will lead to the commitment of the consumers and ultimately will affect the loyalty of the consumers.Data was gathered by distributing questionaire to 100 respondents who have been a student in their course center. The sampling technique used was a purposive sampling. The analysis tool used was Structural Equation Modeling using Amos version 16 software. .The hypotesis testing result showed that among three relationship bondings, the bonds that has a significant effect to trust are social bonding and structural bonding, whereas financial bonding has no effect to the trust of consumers. Trust also has a significant effect to commitment and ultimately the commitment has an effect to loyalty.It is highly recommended to explore another services industry beside education industry for the next research and possibly to add other variables which may have any effect to the variables observed by this current research.Keywords : Relationship bonding, Trust, Commitment, Loyall
MEDIASI BETA SAHAM DALAM MODEL PERTUMBUHAN HARGA SAHAM DENGAN PROFITABILITAS DAN SUKU BUNGA
Understanding the empirical description of the behavior and role of beta is fundamental to portfolio risk management. This study evaluates the behavior of beta under the influence of stock prices\u27 factors, and evaluates the role of beta affects the stock prices. Path analytical model was designed with beta as the intermediate variable where the interest rate factor and return on asset profitability factor were exogenous, and the average growth rate of stock prices movement became an endogenous variable.This model had been estimated by using the data of 32 property stocks listing at Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). Daily prices for the stocks, BEI Composite Index, profitabil4ty, and interest rate were obtained from BEI and Bank Indonesia tapes for January 2000 to December 2004 period.This analysis indicates that beta would become an effective intermediate variable for transmitting effect of the factors toward the stock prices. Stocks prices influence by beta which it influence by factors (interest rate and profitability), on the other hand, stocks prices influence by factors via beta. Here, if interest rate lead to set down or profitability grows up, of ceteris paribus, beta would forces up, and then the stocks prices would move up. The mediation of beta in this model has shown how the investors decide a stock be yet in their portfolio. The positive relationship of beta with stock prices show that investors like more sensitive stock on following market (higher beta). This decision forces most dominant by leading the economical setting (interest rate) rather than growing the firm\u27s fundamental (ROA profitability). The background of this research "conventional marketing wisdom holds that a market orientation provides a company with a better understanding of its customers, competitors and environment, which subsequently leads to superior business performance. While researchers have explored the relationship between market orientation and business performance in different organizations, such studies in retailers industry are scarce."The objective of this research: "Is there an influence from the market orientation towards business performance of retailers industry?". This research is attempt to test the links among three dimensions of market orientation (intelligence generation, intelligence dissemination and responsiveness) and also the link between market orientation and business performance."Data for this study were collected through personal interviews; and Kohli, Jaworski and Kumar\u27s market orientation scale was used to specify the dimensions of a market-oriented organization. These questions were structured in a Likert Scale model. Because of the size of the sample and number of variables; this research used the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) analysis."The result of this research conclude that Kohli, Jaworski, and Kumar\u27s market orientation scale provides a good measure of market orientation in this setting. PENGARUH BRAND COMPETENCE, CREDIBILITY DAN SATISFACTION TERHADAP WORD OF MOUTH BEHAVIOR MELALUI TRUST
The purpose of this study is to examine whether there are exists the influence Brand Competence, Brand Credibility and Brand Satisfaction towards Corporate Brand Trust will influence of Purchase Intention and WOM Behavior.Data collected by distributing questionnaires to 120 respondents who used Nokia handphone product. This research used purposive sampling technique and overall of hypotheses tested by structural equation modeling using Amos 7.0 program.The result showed some variables not support for hypotheses, which is Brand Competence and Satisfaction has positive effect to brand trust. Corporate Brand Trust has positive effect to Current Purchase Intention. Brand credibility has negative effect to brand trust and brand trust has negative effect to purchase intention for product innovation. Corporate Brand Trust has negative effect to WOM Behavior. ANALISIS PENERAPAN TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT (TQM) TERHADAP KINERJA INOVASI: STUDI PADA PERUSAHAAN MANUFAKTUR DI JAWA BARAT
Total Quality Management (TOM) is a topic that is often linked to company performance. Some studies showed that TOM has influence on performance, while some others showed contrary results. This study examined the effect of TQM on innovation performance of manufacturing companies in West Java. The method of data collection was conducted through mailed questionnaires, which consist of 155 respondents using purposive sampling. Multiple regression analysis is a statistical tool that was chosen to analyze the hypotheses. The results indicated that all TQM variables had significant influence on innovation performance. This research attempts to discover the reasons of the women who are interested in working in the non government organization and reveal their aspiration to be involved in such an organization. Besides that, it also attempts to understand the women\u27s freedom in determining their careers and the variables influencing such a determination. It includes twenty woman activists in the non government organization. Based on the in-depth interview with the woman activists working in the non government organization, the reasons of being interested in working in such organization such as their concern of social environment, seeking an experience and place for learning, expressing their idealism, being flexible to manage time and independent or without depending on others.
