No full textAbstrak; Institutional respository telah menjadi perhatian utama pada lembaga pendidikan tinggi di Indonesia. Perkembangan jumlah institutional repository meningkat salah satunya setelah muncul pemeringkatan web of repositories yang dilakukan oleh the Cybermetrics Lab pada tahun 2008. Mulai saat itu perguruan tinggi berlomba membangun institutional repository dalam mengelola karya ilmiah dan berusaha agar peringkat mereka lebih baik. Hal ini merupakan suatu bukti pencapaian kinerja yang dapat menjadi sarana promosi dan meningkatkan visibilitas bagi lembaga. Universitas Surabaya melalui perpustakaan juga termasuk salah satu yang mengembangkan institutional repository. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisa terhadap konten yang tersedia serta kebijakan akses institutional repository Universitas Surabaya yang ditetapkan dalam memberikan layanan kepada sivitas akademika dan pengguna dari luar. Metode dalam kajian ini menggunakan observasi terhadap institutional repository Universitas Surabaya dengan tinjauan pustaka untuk menjelaskan analisis konten dan kebijakan akses. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa peran perpustakaan yang mendapatkan wewenang untuk mengelola karya ilmiah sivitas akademika Universitas Surabaya dapat dilakukan dengan baik melalui institutional repository. Namun demikian masih perlu dilakukan upaya lebih proaktif bagi perpustakaan dalam melakukan sosialisasi peraturan tentang wajib serah simpan karya ilmiah, dan promosi secara intensif dengan menyampaikan berbagai keuntungan dalam pemanfaatan institutional repository.Abstract; Institutional repository has become a major concern of higher education in Indonesia. The number of institutional respository was increased, one of the reason is the ranking web of repositories has been conducted by the Cybermetrics Lab in 2008. At that time, many institutions started to build institutional repository in order to manage the scientific work and also trying to reach the better ranks. Meanwhile, it is an achievement of institution performance which can be promote and increase visibility for the institution. University of Surabaya has also developed the institutional repository and managed by the library. The aims of this study is to analyze the content availability and access policies defined by the University of Surabaya repository providing services to the academic community and external users. The method used in this study by using observations of the institutional repository University of Surabaya with a literature review to clarify the analysis of the content and access policies. The results of this study indicate that the library's role is has the authority to manage the scientific work of academic community can be done through the institutional repository. However there is still need for library to be proactive to communicate regulations on mandatory deposit of scientific work and create intensive promotion of the institutional repository.

Filologi Nusantara dan Perpustakaan: Potret Layanan Khusus Pengguna Studi Islam Indonesia
No full textAbstrak; Ada kegelisahan sebagian pengguna perpustakaan ketika sedang mengkaji Islam di Indonesia berbasis naskah kuno. Salah satu kegelisahan itu adalah ketidaktersediaan sumber informasi tentang naskah kuno Nusantara di perpustakaan PTKIN. Informasi naskah kuno yang paling sederhana ini melalui katalog naskah kuno. Di Indonesia, katalog naskah kuno ini sudah ada sejak tahun 1950 oleh Poerbatjaraka, Voorhoeve, dan Hoykaas dengan titel Indonesische Handschriften hingga saat ini. Katalog naskah Nusantara itu memuat informasi asal usul naskah, isi naskah, dst. Lebih jauh lagi, tentu saja seharusnya perpustakaan PTKIN menyediakan naskah-naskah kuno tersebut, sekalipun dalam bentuk digital. Salah satu bentuk penyelamatan naskah kuno itu melalui program digitalisasi. Dalam konteks itulah filologi Nusantara penting untuk menjadi alat bantu dalam pengembangan perpustakaan PTKIN.Sebenarnya, filologi bukanlah ilmu baru di lingkungan PTKIN. Sebagai mata kuliah, filologi atau studi naskah kuno diajarkan pada Jurusan/Program Studi Sejarah Kebudayaan/Peradaban Islam Fakultas Adab dan Humaniora. Hanya saja, kajian Islam berbasis filologi masih dapat dihitung dengan jari. Karena itu, sangat wajar juga jika pihak perpustakaan hingga saat ini masih belum ada koleksi khusus tentang hal itu. Berangkat dari kegelisahan itulah nampaknya penting diungkapkan saat ini sebagai kajian awal tentang filologi Nusantara dan perpustakaan. Pengalaman kecil di Pusat Perpustakaan IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon melalui layanan khusus Cirebonese Corner dapat menjadi pintu awal kajian ini.Abstract; There are discomfort and worry among library users when they want to study Islam in Indonesia based on ancient manuscripts. One of them is caused by the unavailability of primary references about ancient manuscripts in the library of PTKIN. In the meantime, they find them such references by searching through a catalog of ancient manuscripts which has been around since the 1950s, written by Poerbatjaraka, Voorhoeve, and Hoykaas entittled Indonesische Handschriften. The catalog contains information of origin of scripts, contents, and so on. Furthermore, PTKIN libraries should provide these ancient texts, albeit in digital form. And it is through such digitization program that we can save manuscripts. It is also in the context that the philology of Nusantara becomes important to be assistive instrument to develop PTKIN libraries.Actually, philology is not a new science in the PTKIN. As a university subject, philology, or the study of ancient texts, is taught in the Department of Islamic Civilization, Faculty of Adab and Humanities. However, studies based on philology Islam are relatively low. Therefore, it is reasonable that libraries have no special collections on it. With this background, it is the time to raise the two issues as a stepping stone for the study of Nusantara philology and Libraries. A few experience in the Central Library of IAIN Sheikh Nurjati Cirebon through special service called “Cirebonese Corner” can be the beginning to address these two issues

Even in Indonesia it canbe said to be late, but considering the importance of the benefits of information for the development of the awareness that literacy should be developed. Information literacy is defined as one’s knowledge of the needs information, the ability to identify, seek, evaluate, organize and effectively create, use and communicate information for solving problems. Those Knowledges are a prerequisite to live in an information society and part of one’s basic right to lifelong learning. In a number of libraries that have implemented information literacy, some progress has been achieved. Indeed it is still limited in higher education, sothat information literacy programs in schools should be encouraged and realized. This literacy can be done through various programs: through user education during new student orientation, incidental activity, or to integrate IL into the school curriculum. To realize this agenda all librarians should continue to learn and develop their competences. Without it, they are impossible to carry out information literacy at the school

Dengan maraknya sentuhan teknologi informasi, konsep aggregator bisa menjadi salah satu pilihan.Tujuan makalah adalah mengenalkan konsep agregator berbasis web untuk diterapkan sebagai alat pengembangan koleksi perpustakaan. Agregator dibangun dengan memanfaatkan sindikasi dari situs web. Di konsep ini koleksi dapat ditentukan terlebih dahulu sehingga kualitas terjaga dan sesuai kebutuhan. Proses pemutakhiran mudah diatur secara berkala. Berbasis web hingga memudahkan pemustaka ketika mengakses koleksi. Kelebihan tersebut diharapkan mampu mendukung pengembangan koleksi di perpustakaan sehingga pelayanan menjadi lebih optimal

Digitalisasi katalog pameran dilakukan dalam rangka pengembangan image repository. Pengembangan image repository merupakan upaya untuk meningkatkan aksesibilitas katalog pameran. Katalog pemeran merupakan koleksi yang mendokumentasi karya seni lengkap dengan informasi pencipta karya serta deskripsi dari karya. Melalui penulisan makalah ini penulis akan mendeskripsikan kegiatan pemilihan aplikasi, proses digitalisisi katalog pameran, penentuan format file gambar serta organisasi informasi hasil digitalisasi. Dengan penulisan makalah ini diharapkan mampu memberikan gambaran teknis terkait kegiatan digitalisasi dan pengelolaan koleksi gambar berbasis image repository. Dengan digitalisi katalog pameran dan mengelolanya melalui image repository memungkinkan memperbanyak titik akses penelusuran informasi. Selama ini katalog pameran hanya dapat ditelusurr dengan titik akses judul pameran, subjek serta kurator. Dengan pengelolaan gambar berbasis image repository dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan nama pencipta karya, judul karya, judul pemeran, subjek dan kurator.Abstract; This paper will describes how to digitize exhibition catalogue that was did by ISI Yogyakarta Library, to develop image repository. The development of image repository should be done to make easy access to the catalogue. Exhibition catalogue is a collection of complete art work, including of creator and art description. This paper will also describes how to choose application, digitizing process, how to organize catalogue and ensure picture file format. Base on image repository, the catalogue should make more access point to search, including author, title, exhibition title, subject and curator.
Peran Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi dalam Mengembangkan Institusional Repository

Perpustakaan di perguruan tinggi mempunyai peran dalam pengelolaan dan penyebarluasan informasi. Istilah perpustakaan digital di era sekarang sudah mulai bergeser ke konsep pengembangan insitusional repository. Konsep institusional repository ini merupakan upaya untuk memaksimalkan layanan perpustakaan dalam bidang publikasi karya ilmiah yang tidak hanya yang berwujud cetak, tetapi juga berwujud digital. Hal ini tentunya menjadi perhatian bagi perpustakaan untuk mengelola koleksi-koleksi dalam wujud digital. Koleksi digital ini bisa berwujud soft file atau biasa dikenal sekarang dengan dokumen dengan format PDF (Portable Document Format) ataupun dalam wujud image, video dll. Perpustakaan sudah saatnya untuk menyesuaikan dengan perkembangan ini. Perpustakaan mempunyai peran penting dalam pengelolaan electronic resources atau sumber informasi berwujud elektronik yang ada. Perguruan tinggi tentunya merupakan gudangnya ilmu pengetahuan. Karya ilmiah akademisi tentu menjadi kekayaan informasi yang sangat bermanfaat. Perpustakaan tentunya harus memandang ini sebagai sebuah peluang dan kesempatan dalam melayankan kepada masyarakat akan informasi yang dimiliki. Koleksi karya ilmiah sangat dibutuhkan dalam bidang penelitian ataupun pengkajian keilmuan. Sekarang konsep institusional repository menjadi salah satu bahan acuan dalam pemeringkatan perguruan tinggi atau dikenal dengan webometric.
