    The mathematical ability that should be owned by the students as stated by the NCTM, namely (1) learn to communicate; (2) learn to reason; (3) learn to solve problems; (4) learn to associate ideas; (5) learning to represent ideas. By having the ability mathematical understanding, students are able to explain the relationship between concepts and is able to communicate ideas with symbols, tables, diagrams, or other media to clarify the issue and was able to solve the problems. It is thus necessary that the proper application of learning models to improve the understanding and communication of mathematical students is one model of cooperative jigsaw. This study aims to determine the increase in the ability of students 'mathematical understanding and communication that derive jigsaw cooperative learning with students who received conventional teaching students to be reviewed as a whole and by the beginning of students' mathematical abilities. This research used experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design. Samples selected by random sampling consisted of two classes, namely classes and class XMIA5 XMIA2. Collecting data using test instruments mathematical understanding and communication capabilities that pretest and posttest in the second grade. hypothesis testing using t-test, t test "and Mann Whitney test with a significance level of 0.05. Based on the results of data analysis is concluded that, overall, students increase their understanding and mathematical communication abilities of students who obtain a type of cooperative learning jigsaw better than students who received conventional learning.     Abstract. This paper describes a framework for a mathematics lesson design called ELPSA. It is comprised of five learning components, namely: Experience, Language, Pictorial, Symbolic and Applications. This framework provides assistance for students to make sense of mathematics ideas in classrooms, through sequenced activities that draw of students personal experiences, encourage multiple forms of representation and apply mathematics knowledge to new experiences. This paper explains the theory that underpins the framework, and highlights the manner in which the respective components promote mathematics thinking.     Abstract. Mathematics is a lesson that is taught from primary education to higher education. However, the implementation of learning, especially SMP were encountered obstacles, one of which is the lack of representative learning device. This study was a response to the need for a valid learning tool, especially book teacher and student book. This research development, namely the development of learning tools based on open-ended approach to improve the ability to think creatively mathematical school students with materials Statistics. Software development models used in this study was a modification of the steps Plomp model, namely (1) preliminary investigation phase (phase preliminary investigation), (2) design phase (phase design), (3) realization/construction phase (phase realization/construction), and (4) test, evaluation, and revision phase (phase test, evaluation and revision. The device consists of learning learning implementation plan (RPP), teacher guide, student books, student worksheet and the test of learning outcomes. Methode of data collection was done through the validation sheet, test, and questionnaire of students responses. Results of the validation sheet was obtained that the RPP had an average value of 4.05 with valid criteria, teacher guide had an average value of 3.94 with valid criteria, students books had an average value of 3.9 with valid criteria, student worksheet had an average value of 3.83 with valid criteria, and test results of learning had an average value of 4.15 with very valid criteria.     This study aims to produce teaching materials of enumeration rules were valid and practical based on the characteristics of problem-based learning and curriculum 2013 and to determine the potential effects of teaching materials on students ability to solve problems. The method used was the development of research which consists of two stages: a preliminary stage that includes the preparation and design then the formative stages of evaluation that includes self evaluation, expert reviews, one-to-one, small group, and a field test. The subjects were students of class XI MIA 6 SMAN 10 Palembang. Data collected by walkthrough, observation and tests. This research has produced teaching materials were valid and practical based on the characteristics of problem-based learning and curriculum 2013.     Penerapan Model Eliciting Activities untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Matematis dan Self Confidence Siswa SMA

    The ability of mathematical creative thinking and self-confidence are ones of the targets in mathematics learning. Therefore, learners need a relevant model to have them be active in searching information themselves, group working, building self-confidence, and improving creative thinking in perceiving and understanding the information to resolve a problem. One of the models is model-eliciting activities to improve students mathematical creative thinking and self-confidence to have students organize their own knowledge in learning. Applying this model, this research was to investigate (1) the differences of students mathematical creative thinking improvement through dividing into low, medium, and high subgroups, (2) the description of students self-confidence in mathematics learning, and (3) the correlation of creative thinking ability and self-confidence in mathematics learning. This experiment used one-group pretest-posttest design. The population was all first year students of SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh, and the sample was all students in Class X-IA3. The instruments applied in the research were mathematical creative thinking ability test and self-confidence questionnaire. The statistic testing applied in data analysis was the average difference test, whereas the questionnaire was counted based on the percentage. The result obtained showed that the improvement in students mathematical creative thinking exists in those who applied model-eliciting activities. While, the result from the questionnaire proves that the majority of the students (74.6%) establish positive view toward mathematics learning using model-eliciting activities. In contrast, there was no any correlation between creative thinking ability and self-confidence in mathematics learning

    Respon Pengguna Facebook terhadap Tugas Matematika

    This is a part of a larger study investigating the potential of Facebook for mathematics learning. This case study explored the responses of Facebook users towards opened and closed mathematical tasks posted on Facebook. In total, 149 Facebook users responded to the tasks resulting in 242 comments during a short period of time. All of the responses were downloaded and content analysis was utilised to identify patterns occurring within the responses. Virtual ethnographic study was also applied to further identify the demographical background of participants (education/professional background and locations). The results of this study suggests that opened mathematical tasks create broader opportunities for the Facebook users to express their mathematical ideas in different ways and attract richer mathematical interactions among the users than closed mathematical tasks. The nature of the task potentially shaped the types of responses from the Facebook users. This paper discusses some broad observations on the implications of the study as well as suggestions for future research

    Once of the meaning of mathematic studying is to learn the communication, because the students may provide the ideas to the teacher and other trough. On the other side, the interpersonally studying of the student much concerning to the process and the result of the student learns, because the interpersonally studying might easily solve the problem and act as an adult. Once of the studying model may applicable to increase the mathematically communication ability and the interpersonally studying is the group model investigation. This research aims to know the increasing of mathematically communication ability and the interpersonally studying between students who get group investigation lesson and students who get conventional lesson concerning all generally and based of student level. This research is use the experimental research. The design used of the research is pre-test post-test control group design. The population of the research are all of the students level VII of National 9 Junior High School of Banda Aceh. Random sampling technical used to take the sample. In order to have the data research used the instrument as mathematically communication ability test and interpersonally studying scale form questionary. The result of the research shows that mathematically communication ability and the interpersonally studying student who get group investigation learning are better than students who get conventionally learning as in all generally or even based on student level

    One of the goals of learning mathematics in school is to improve the ability of problem solving, the student was required to have a higher thinking skills such as critical thinking skills. Use of appropriate critical thinking skills will greatly assist students in improving problem-solving abilities. In addition to critical thinking, another very important aspect to be improved in mathematics learning is positive views of students towards mathematics or known as mathematical disposition. Problem posing approach that requires students to ask questions and make the settlement is expected to be able to develop students 'thinking skills, especially critical thinking skills and mathematical change students' views of mathematics became more positive. This study aims to assess the improvement of critical thinking skills and dispositions that are taught to students' mathematical problem posing approach and students are taught with conventional teaching. This study is a design experiment using pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study is the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Banda Aceh in the school year 2012-2013. Samples were taken two classes VII3 class as the experimental class and the class as a class VII4 control through random sampling technique. The instrument used to obtain research data is test critical thinking skills questionnaire sheet-scale mathematical and mathematical disposition. The statistical test used to analyze the data increase critical thinking skills and dispositions are mathematically ANOVA test two paths. The results showed that an increase in critical thinking skills and dispositions that are taught to students' mathematical problem posing approach better than students taught with conventional teaching

    Mathematics is structured that any material science related. To understand the interrelated mathematical material this needs the capability mathematics. Connection ability mathematical connection is very important and is one of the capabilities that must be owned by a person and the unavoidable presence when someone studying mathematics. This study aims to determine: Is the increase in mathematical connection ability of students who obtain advance learning through learning model organizer better than students who received conventional learning, interaction learning model initial advance organizer with the ability of students to increase the ability of students' mathematical connections, and describes the ability to make map concept of junior high school students who acquire learning through advanced learning model organizer. This research uses an experimental quantitative methods approach. The population in this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Lhokseumawe consisting of ten classes. As a sample of randomly selected classes will be the subject of study chosen as an experimental class VII1 class and class VII5 control. Instrumen elected as class research in this study is testing the ability to connect mathematical description shaped totaled about 5 grains soal. Koefisien the reliability test of 0.672 koefisien reliabilitas tests showed high levels. The results showed that: (1) Increased ability of students being taught mathematical connection with the advance organizer learning model is better than the students who obtain conventional overall learning and based on the level of the student. (2) There is no interaction learning model initial advance organizer with the ability of students to increase the ability of students' mathematical connections. (3) The ability of the students create concept maps in learning mathematics through advanced learning model organizer adalah well.
