    Pengembangan Soal Penalaran Tipe TIMSS Menggunakan Konteks Budaya Lampung

    The aimed of this research is to result TIMSS-like mathematics problem type reasoning in junior high school with Lampung cultural as a context. This research involved 28 students of grade VIII A in SMP Kartika II-2 Bandar Lampung. Design research type development study chosen as method of this research which consist of two main phases namely preliminary and formative evaluation. The result of this study are 14 problems of TIMSS-like mathematics problem type reasoning with Lampung cultural as a context were valid, practice and have a potential effect. The result show that 51% reached analyze level, 38% reached integrate level, 47% reached evaluate level, 21% reached draw conclusion level, 58% reached generalize level, and 30% reached justify level. Overall, students ability of all domains on the average 41

    Students are often confronted with problems related to mathematics in their daily life. Problem solving is one of the competencies that are the focus of mathematics learning. Solving the problem needs creativity in order to develop the imagination of the students to avoid a single answer and uniforms to students. Creativity is a process to produce something new that can be accepted as useful and defensible. The research objective of this experiment was to determine: (1) the effect of Treffinger learning model to increase of mathematical creative thinking abilities of students at SMPN 16 Banda Aceh, (2) the effect of Treffinger learning model to increase of mathematical problem solving abilities of students at SMPN 16 Banda Aceh, and (3) the description of students' response to Treffinger learning model in mathematics. The population in this study was all students of class VII SMP 16 Banda Aceh and the subject of research was selected as the experimental class was VII2. The instrument of this research was to test the ability of creative thinking and problem solving skills have the form mathematical problems of three questions, have the reliability of 0.592. The results show that: (1) there was an effect of Treffinger learning model to increase of mathematical creative thinking abilities of students at SMPN 16 Banda Aceh, (2) there was an effect of Treffinger learning model to increase of mathematical problem solving abilities of students at SMPN 16 Banda Aceh, and (3) the students of class VII-2 SMP Negeri 16 Banda Aceh have responded positively to the Treffinger learning mode

    Various attempts have been made to overcome the difficulties students learn mathematics. One is to apply Realistic Mathematics Education (Pendidikan Matematika Realistik/PMR). PMR can potentially improve the ability of students mathematical representation, including fraction. This study used a qualitative approach with classroom action research. The goal is to understand the mathematical representation ability of fourth grade students at SDN 1 Sibreh, Aceh, through PMR for fraction topic. This research was conducted in two cycles. The participants were 4 students-one student was high rank (S1), two students were midle rank (S2 and S3), and one student was low rank (S4). The data collected in this study includes process and outcome. Data collection instruments include students worksheets, the observation sheet and test sheet. The results of this study were (1) The percentage of the average score of students and teachers activities that are good categories in both the first cycle and the second cycle. (2) The percentage of students mathematical representation ability increased from 77% in the first cycle to 82% in the second cycle. It can be concluded that learning through Realistic Mathematics can improve the students mathematical representation ability about at grade IV SDN 1 Sibreh

    Miskonsepsi Konsep Prasyarat Aljabar Mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah

    The concept of algebra prerequisites that must be understood by primary school teachers (SD) including: (1) concept of numbers and numerical operations, (2) the ratio/proportion, and (3) the order of operations. The third prerequisite concept also needs to be understood as a candidate in primary students in elementary uru. Lack of understanding of the concept of preconditions can lead to misconceptions in students. The researchers aim to analyze the misconceptions of what happens to students in primary prerequisite to the concept of algebra. The study involved five students in primary UIN Ar-Raniry. Data obtained through diagnostic tests and interviews so analyzed descriptively qualitative. The results showed that students in primary experiencing misconceptions on the concept of algebra prerequisites are: the concept of fractions, prime numbers, integers, mixed operations, and operations on fractions. The implication of the study is the need for efforts to improve understanding of student teachers, especially students in primary through appropriate measures

    Peningkatan Kemampuan Pemahaman dan Motivasi Siswa SMP melalui Model Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) dengan Menggunakan Game Matematika Online

    This research was aimed to know: (1) the difference of the increasing of understanding mathematical ability who get the learning process through MMP model by using online math game and students who get the learning process conventionally; (2) the difference of the increasing of students motivation who get the learning process through MMP model by using online math game and students who get the learning process conventionally; (3) the interaction between learning model by the level of students on their mathematics increasing of understanding mathematical ability; (4) the interaction between learning model by the students level on the students motivation increasing. This research used quantitative approach by quasi experiment method. The populations were all students of grade VII SMA Arun-LhokseumaweAceh which consisted of five classes. As the sample were taken randomly namely class VII-C as experiment class and class VII-B as controlled class. The research instrument was the ability of mathematics understanding in essay form, motivation questioner of students and observation sheets. Data were analyzed by t-test and Anova. The analysis with result show indicated that (1) the increasing of the students understanding mathematical ability taught through MMP teaching model by using online math game was better than those who were taught conventionally; (2) the increasing of motivation whichs taught through MMP teaching model by using online math game was better than those who were taught conventionally; (3) there was no interaction between learning model by students level on students mathematic of understanding mathematical ability; (4) there was an interaction between learning model by students level on the increasing of the students motivation

    The unemployment issue has opened the eyes of academic scientists and government. These things give the impression that the teaching and learning needs to be improved. One of the strategies that have been suggested by the Malaysia Education Blueprint (Higher Education) is to use experience-based approach. Teaching methods and adventure-based learning is a method characterized by experiential learning and inquiry learning. It is seen as having the characteristics of improving the skills of the 21st century in terms of leadership. The main objective of this study was to examine the effects of adventure-based learning through walks, explore race and flying fox in learning statistics (mathematics) against the student leadership skills. This study will employ a quantitative approach research using a quasi-experimental pre and post-test non-equivalent control group design. The sample for this study will be selected randomly at one Malaysia Teacher Training Institute and will be involved semester two students in Program Persediaan Ijazah Sarjana Muda Perguruan. Three main instruments will be used in this study such as the fundamental statistic achievement test, critical thinking test and leadership assessment questionnaire. The sample will be divided into two groups: the experimental groups will undergo an adventure-based learning approach while control groups remain to the conventional approach. The results of this study are expected to provide an alternative teaching approach that can be implemented by lecturers, teachers and educators in practicing the teaching and learning for the 21st century

    Mathematical communication skills is essential is owned by the student in the learning process, especially mathematics to solve mathematical problems that are non-routine and to convey thoughts, ideas and concepts in the form of mathematical symbols. Through communication students can convey their ideas, argues against any answers and provide feedback on the answers given by others, so that what is learned to be more meaningful. Therefore, it is very important to develop and improve mathematical communication in the learning process of mathematics. This study aims to assess the improvement of communication skills among students acquire mathematical learning and problem posing approach students who received conventional learning. This study was an experimental study using the design of pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study were students of class VII SMP 1 Darul Imarah, Aceh Besar in the academic year 2016/2017. Samples were taken two classes, namely class VII-2 as an experimental class and class VII-1 as control class through random sampling techniques. The instrument used to collect research data in the form of mathematical communication ability test. The statistical test used to upgrade data of analyzed ability in mathematical communication is a two-lane Anova test. The results showed that the increase in mathematical ability of students who received learning by problem posing approach better than students who received conventional learning both overall and based on prior knowledge of student

    Peningkatan Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif dan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa SMA melalui Model Pembelajaran Project Based Learning Berbasis Debat

    The purpose of this study was to determine between increased ability to think creatively and mathematical communication students who take the learning project-based learning and students who received conventional learning. The research sample was taken randomly. The instrument used was a test form of essay questions given in pretest and posttest to see an increase, as well as about the student activity sheet that would be a reference in the debate. Based on statistical data analysis using t-test showed that the increase in the ability to think creatively and communication students acquire mathematical learning project-based learning was better than students who received conventional learning. Based on the analysis statistical data by using the Two-Way ANOVA showed that there was no interaction between the model of learning by the student's ability level to increase the ability of creative thinking and mathematical communication student

    Peningkatan Kemampuan Pemahaman dan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa SMAN 3 Banda Aceh melalui Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning

    The purpose of this study to determine enhancement the ability of understanding and communication mathematically by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) in the learning activity. The population in this study were students of SMAN 3 Banda Aceh with a sample of two classes. Type of research is experimental with pretest-posttest control group design. The experimental group was treated with a model of learning in the form of PBL and the control group with conventional learning. Data were collected using achievement test and observation sheets during the learning takes place. The results of data analysis showed that 1)there are significant differences in increased ability mathematical understanding of students who received PBL learning compared to conventional learning are reviewed as a whole and based on the level of students, 2) there is an interaction between the factors of student learning at low levels and moderate to increased understanding of mathematical abilities, but no interaction at a high level because the student already has a good ability of mathematical understanding, 3) there are significant differences in enhancement communication skills students acquire mathematical learning by PBL compared to students who received conventional learning is reviewed based on the whole student, but there is no difference if the review is based on the level of the student, 4) there is interaction between the factors of student learning at low levels and moderate to increased mathematical communication but no interaction at a high level because students already have a good mathematical communication skills

    Menilai Prestasi Belajar melalui Penguatan Self Regulated Learning dan Kecerdasan Emosional Siswa pada Pembelajaran Matematika

    Learning in school is a process which is complex and comprehensive. The existence of the learning process may make changes in the student, either intellectually or spiritual. The changes that occur are not only intellectually influenced by intelligence, but may also be with emotional intelligence and the ability to self regulated learning in learning. Associated with the condition, then the purpose of the research was to analyze the influence of the self regulated learning and emotional intelligence against the achievements of learning math students. This research was quantitative research with causal comparative method (ex post facto). The population in this research was all tenth-grade students at SMA 1 Susukan Cirebon. Based on Cluster sampling technique, we have chosen 36 students. Research instrument used was the assessment of self regulated learning, emotional intelligence of students, andthe learning of mathematics achievement test. As for the results of the research there was a positive influence between the self regulated learning againts achievement of learning math 0.819 or 81,9%, there was a positive influence between the emotional intelligence against the learning achievements of 0.742 or 74,2%, and there was a positive relationship between self regulated learning and emotional intelligence of students namely of 76.5%, meaning between both influence each otherwith regression equation was . The condition indicates that there was simultaneously influence among self regulated learning and emotional intelligence against the achievements of students learning math of 46,79%, and the rest was enough criteria 53.21% determined other factors.Learning in school is a process which is complex and comprehensive.
