    Pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning Materi Perbandingan pada Siswa MTs Negeri 2 Banda Aceh

    The purpose of this study was to determine the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) for comparison material of students MTs Negeri 2 Banda Aceh can achieve mastery. The population was all seventh grade students of MTs Negeri 2 Banda Aceh while the sample was VII-4 grade of MTs Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. Collecting data in this study was conducted using tests shaped description of the material and the ratio obtained from the research carried out. Results obtained from tests processed using chi square test in order to determine the normality of the data. Then use the t-test (the test right) with to test the hypothesis. Based on these results indicate that thitung = 3.43 with df = 28, t distribution list indicates t = 1,701, so 3.43 1.701. It was thus clear that H0 refused and accept Ha, it can be concluded the results of hypothesis testing was by CTL comparative material on students MTs Negeri 2 Banda Aceh has reached completenes

    The learning process of mathematics, especially the one related to the characteristic of cylinder, at elementary school or at the other higher level of school only required the students to memorize the concept of it without comprehending its meaning. Based on that reason, it is a need to have an appropriate learning approach to help the students in understanding the characteristics of cylinder. This research aims to describe the learning activity of cylinder characteristic by using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). There were five students of grade V from SDN 3 Sigli who were involved in this study.Byusing the approach, the students were motivated to learn about cylinder characteristics more meaningfully. The use of the appropriate context that matches with the students culture also became a strong foundation for them in possessing a meaningful experience toward the material. It also can lead them to have more formal learning experiences (identifying the characteristics of cylinder). There were three kinds of activities that are conducted in the study and were related to introduction the characteristicsof cylinder. They were glueing by using different colour, drawing a tissue place, and unloading the model of the tissue place. The use of concrete objects that relates to the culture of the students to develop their ability in understanding the material of the cylinder was the first step in learning the cylinder volume concep

    Meningkatkan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Matematis Siswa SMK melalui Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah

    Mathematics is a subject that can train students in developing critical thinking, logical, creative, effective and systematic as well as assist in the development of personality and reasoning power of a person. Hopefully, with these capabilities that students can face all kinds of challenges in today's modern era. This study aims to determine the increase in critical thinking skills students acquire mathematical learning with problem based learning model in terms of: (a) the whole student, and (b) the level (high, medium, and low) ability of students. This study uses a quantitative approach with the experimental method. The population in this study are all class XI student of SMK Negeri 5 Banda Aceh and a sample of the research is class XI RPL-1 as an experimental class and class XI RPL-2 as the control class. The data were analyzed with the average gain is normalized between the two classes. The results showed that an increase in the ability of critical thinking mathematical students acquire learning with problem based learning model is singnifikansi better than on the ability of critical thinking mathematical students who received conventional learning when viewed from the overall and by level (high, medium, and low) ability of students

    The purpose of this study was to determine the differences between improvement of mathematical reasoning abilities of students who obtain a model of learning through discovery learning and students who received conventional teaching. This research was a quantitative study with experimental method, that has pretest-posttest group design. The population was all students at MTsN Lambalek by taking samples of two classes, namely class-VIIIA as the experimental class and VIIIB as the control class. Then, the data were collected by using testing techniques. The collected data were analyzed by ANOVA. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the students' mathematical reasoning abilities in experimental class was better than the control class which was reviewed based on the whole student and grouping students

    Meningkatkan Kreativitas Matematik dan Kepercayaan Diri Siswa melalui Pembelajaran Humanistik Berbasis Pendidikan Matematika Realistik

    The purpose of this study was to determine the difference between the improvement of mathematical creativity and self-confidence of students after PMR-based humanistic learning based on student level (high, medium, and low), and interaction between the learning levels of students after application of humanistic learning with PMR based on mathematical creativity of students. This study used a purely experimental research with research design shaped in "pre test - post test". The samples of this study were randomly choosen, and two classes were taken, namely class X-MIA4 as the experimental class (PMR-based humanistic learning), while class X-MIA7 as the control class (conventional learning). The instrument used was a mathematical creativity tests and questionnaires of self-confidence. The statistical test (the t-test of independent sample t-test) was used to analyze the data. The results showed that there were differences increase between mathematics creativity and self-confidence of students after the applied learning humanistic-based PMR and students who received conventional learning, both overall and by subgroups, and there was an interaction between the learning strategies and subgroups of students (high, medium and low) to creativity math students

    Pengembangan Perangkat Problem Based Learning (PBL) dalam Pembelajaran Matematika di SMA

    Problem Based Learning, PBL, is one of concept learning to apply real life concept and present problem in the beginning of learning. In the textbook, the topic of learning not suitable with daily activities of students and a teacher not understood what he or she taught to their student. In fact, the case will bring a situation which pupils not interested with mathematics because they did not learn about what they need. Based on the case, it created a development students book, teachers book, and student worksheet. They presented problems in student life. This research has purposed to generated the mathematics learning with PBL models are valid and practical. In study, the method was used a development research, namely Dick model and Carey model. The learning PBL consists of the teachers book, student worksheet, lesson plan, and achievement test. Based on development, it shown that validation learning tools were resulted the overall validation of learning illustrated validity criteria was very valid, validation of test result was valid, and validation of question was valid. Furthermore, learning tool developed was practical category, it based on experiment in in SMA Negeri 8 Banda Aceh and students of class X which has very good of activities percentage, learning process very good by teacher observation, and test result on worksheet was very good. The assignment of student and teacher to the learning tool show good criteria, and score of students test have reached an average by 76.1.The conclusion, in this research, shown that the PBL learning tool developed which fulfill valid categorize and practica

    The low achievement on students mathematical comprehension and reasoning was still low due to the informational pattern of material in mathematics has been delivered to students informatively which means students get the information only from the teacher, so students mathematical ability also low. The purpose of this research was to examine the differences of comprehension ability and mathematical reasoning between students who learned mathematics through contextual learning and students who learned through conventional approach. Design for this research was pretest-posttest control group design. To obtain the research data, comprehension ability and mathematical reasoning test were used as the instrument. This research conducted at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri Model Banda Aceh. The population of this study was all students at grade VIII while samples were chosen from 2 of 11 of grade VIII by purposive sampling. The data analysis was done quantitative way. Quantitative analysis conducted on the normalized average gain between two samples by using t-test. The result showed that overall learning mathematics by using contextual learning treatment can encourage students; comprehension ability and mathematical reasoning ability. Learning mathematics by contextual learning approach significantly better in encourage the students comprehension ability and mathematical reasoning than using conventional approach. Learning by contextual approach can be a good alternative learning approach that can be implemented in Junior High Schoo

    The purpose of this research to produce TIMSS like mathematics tasks on the numbers content by using Context Kingdom of Sriwijaya are valid and practical, and to see the potential effect resulting tasks. Subject of this research are students in grade VII.7 SMPN 55 Palembang. This research is design research in the type of development study consisting of preliminary and formative evaluation (methods). Produce of this research are 10 TIMSS like mathematics tasks on the numbers content by using Context Kingdom of Sriwijaya are valid and practical, and has the potential effect on students' mathematical reasoning competencies, such as analyzing, integrating, making inferences, and give reasons.     Peningkatan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa SMK melalui Model Problem-Based Instruction (PBI)

    Problem-Based Instruction (PBI) is one of learning model which required student to be more active and create steps in solving problem so that the student should be able to develope their ability in solving mathematics problem and change the students perspective in mathematics positively. This study aims to asses the improvemement of problem solving and students self-concept that are taught by using PBI model and the student who taught by conventional learning through their level in studying. This study used pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study is the eleventh grade students of SMK Farmasi Cut Meutia Banda Aceh in the school year 2013-2014. Samples were taken two classes XIA as the experimental class and XIB as a control class through purposing sampling technique. The instrument used to obtain research data is a mathematics problem solving ability test. The statistical test used to analyze the increasing problem solving data are ANOVA two path test. The result showed that the improvement problem solving ability that were taught by using PBI is better than students taught with conventional learning. According to students level, improving problem solving ability through PBI model is also better than students taught with conventional learning

    Konteks Kebudayaan Palembang untuk Mendukung Kemampuan Bernalar Siswa SMP pada Materi Perbandingan

    This study aims to support students proportional reasoning in comparison problems using Palembang culture as context and PMRI approached. Six students of 7th grade were participated. We used design research as research approach, a Hypothetical Learning Trajectory (HLT) was develop and a set of activities using Palembang culture as context, such as ketek fare, empek-empek price, lempok price. Theoretical development is driven by an iterative process of designing instructional activities, performing teaching experiments and conducting retrospective analysis in order to contribute to Local Instruction Theory (LIT) to support students proportional reasoning in comparison problem. Data collected by making video recording about actual teaching and learning in classroom, collecting students worksheet, giving pretest and posttest, interviewing students. The designed HLT compared Actual Learning Trajectory (ALT) during pilot experiment to analyze whether the students learned or did not learn from what we had designed in the instructional sequence. Retrospective analysis of pilot experiment showed that by using Palembang culture as context can support students proportional reasoning in middle school to solve comparison problems
