Pembelajaran Distribusi Poisson dan Penerapannya dalam Kehidupan Sehari-hari
The Mathematical Statistics learning process that integrates theoretical understanding with practice can enhance students' insight into the application of what they have learned (theoretically) in the classroom into everyday life. Theoretical learning will create a boring learning environment. Students have no idea of the use of the theory they have acquired. Based on these reasons, it is necessary to design a learning activity that can help students to apply their understanding of the theory they have acquired. This research describes the learning process of Poisson distribution which is designed by adding its application activity in a problem. This learning is part of the Mathematical Statistics course at teacher education program. This research was conducted for four weeks on Short Semester. One week consists of three meetings. This research involves seven students of IKIP Mataram majoring in Mathematics Education who have taken the Mathematics Statistics course and repeat the lecture in Short Semester. The data collected were obtained from interview video, students assignment sheet, accompaniment video data analysis process using Poisson distribution, and student worksheets in Microsoft Excel. Students are required to conduct visitor surveys at several education centers and shopping centers. After that, we guide them to process and analyze data using Poisson distribution. The discussion section highlights the description of the lessons and the development of students' understandin

Pembelajaran Matematika dengan Memanfaatkan Formulator Tarsia
Mathematics is often regarded as a difficult subject in school, consequently many students are less interested in learning it. The use of technology can be an alternative to create an interesting and effective of instructional Media. One of the application programs that teachers can choose is Tarsia Formulators. This formulator is a program designed for math teachers to create puzzles, dominoes, and other forms of activity. This paper discusses examples of the application of puzzles created from tarsia formulators in mathematics learning. Learning activities begin by introducing the form of puzzles to be assembled by the students. The teacher gives an explanation of the rules that apply in this lesson. Teacher guides need to be done to make it easier for students who have difficulty. Furthermore, the teacher displays the correct form of the puzzle in comparison to the student's work and provides an explanation of the answer to the problem presented. The tarsia formulators makes it easy for teachers to create effective and varieties instructional media, so students do not feel bored in classroom learning activities

Prospective mathematics teachers should have met the Pirie-Kieren model of understanding indicators, to become professional teachers. The purpose of this research is to describe the layers of understanding structure that is filled by students of mathematics teacher prospectives. The description is based on a model hypothesized by Pirie-Kieren. Research subjects selected from female and male mathematics teacher prospective students have been given the task of understanding the concept of derivative functions and interviewed. Data collected from students answers from worksheets before the interview, students answers from worksheets during interviews, and interview transcripts. After the data were analyzed qualitatively, the description of the understanding layer structure of two subjects grouped by the original Pirie-Kieren Model was obtained. The subjects of female had met the indicators of primitive knowing, then there are the processes of image doing and image reviewing on the layer structure of image making towards image having, then image seeing and image saying on the layer of image having to property noticing, then there are the processes of property predicting and property recording on the layer of property noticing towards formalizing, then there are the processes of method applying and method justifying on the layer of formalizing towards observing, then there are the processes of future identifying and feature prescribing on the layer of observing towards structuring, and there are the prosesses of theorem conjecturing and theorem proving on the layer of structuring towards inventising. She almost fulfilled the inventising layer. Male subjects also meet the same understanding indicators as women. Both subjects have almost fulfilled a layer of creation, we called inventisingoi
