Economic Value of non-Timber Forest Product Utilization at Padali Resort, Ujung Kulon National Park
The National park has a supporting function in order to improve the society\u27s welfare and their quality of life. One of the activities that can be carried out to support this function is the utilization of the potential of non-timber forest products. This research aims to identify the type and economic value of NTFP utilization at the Padali Resort in Ujung Kulon National Park. This research was carried out at TNUK Padali Resort and the village which guided under of the Paduk TNUK Resort in March to April 2018. The methods used were literature studies, interviews and field observations. Analysis of the data used is descriptive and quantitative analysis to calculate the economic value of NTFP utilization through a market price approach. The types of NTFPs used by the community consist of 8 types, namely sugar palm, bamboo, durian, dogfruit, coconut, mangosteen, melinjo and stink bean with a total economic value of Rp. 262,460,702.25 / year. The majority of NTFPs (62.62%) utilized by the community are for commercial purposes. Padasuka Village has the greatest dependence on NTFPs in the Padali Resort area with a percentage of 50% of the total economic value of NTFP utilization at Padali Resort TNUK. Community Interaction with Moluccan Cockatoo (Cacatua moluccensis, Gmelin 1788) in The Buffer Zone of Manusela National Parks
Moluccan cockatoo (Cacatua moluccensis Gmelin, 1788) is an endemic bird of Seram Island, Maluku Province, which is an icon of Manusela National Park. The population and habitat of Maluku cockatoos is disrupted by the activities of communities around the area. This study aims to analyze the condition of the poor cockatoo population and habitat as well as the community\u27s perceptions of the interaction between the community and the cockatoos in the wild and develop a strategy for the Maluku cockatoo conservation program in the buffer zone of Manusela National Park.. Data collection is done by direct observation, questionnaires, focus group discussions and in-depth interviews. The results showed that there were 7 individuals found in the location of community plantations, while 4 other individuals were in the protected forest area and Manusela National Park with density 22,04 individual/km2. The existence of moluccan cockatoos on community plantations has led to a negative perception of the community that cockatoo is one of the pests for the plantation. The right conservation efforts to preserve cockatoos and create positive interactions with the community are by planning on village tourism, Moluccan cockatoo captivity, and managing the habitat of the cockatoos in and around the Manusela National Park area. Role of Stakeholder in Implementation of Conservation Function in Ir. H. Djuanda Forest Park
Tahura as a conservation area has many benefits, functions, and impacts. This creates many interests and influences from various parties to Tahura Djuanda, so that the management of conservation in Tahura Djuanda needs to be managed together. Co-management is urgently needed to know each other\u27s roles. Therefore, it is important to know the role of Tahura Djuanda Stakeholder in the implementation of conservation functions. The purpose of this study identifies the role of Stakeholder in the implementation of conservation functions and linkages among Stakeholder. This research was conducted in Tahura Djuanda and the location of Stakeholder existence, with the subject of research are Stakeholder and research object that is Tahura Djuanda. Data collection methods used were questionnaires, interviews, observation, and literature study. Tahura Djuanda\u27s Stakeholder are 24 and grouped in government agencies, private institutions and community institutions. The role of Stakeholder in the aspects of protection, preservation, and utilization tends to be good with the interrelationship between Stakeholder that are mutually beneficial. Ethnobotany of Merpayang (Scaphium macropodum Miq.) Beumee K. Heyne as a Medicinal Plant on The Pengulu Ethnic Sarolangun Jambi
Merpayang fruit (Scaphium macropodum Miq.) Beumee Ex K Heyne has long been known to have medicinal properties, one of them the Pengulu ethnic. The research aimed was to analyze the ethnobotany of merpayang utilization in the Pengulu ethnic community of Jambi. The method used in this study was qualitative. Data collection used direct interviews with informants of Pengulu ethnic community with selected by snowball sampling. Data analysis was carried out by cross checking, summarizing, synthesizing, and narrating with descriptive analysis and evaluation. The results of study showed that the Pengulu ethnic uses merpayang for traditional medicines, including heartburn, fever, laxative, hemorrhoid/Ambien, coughing, and itching. In addition to the fruit, the Pengulu ethnic uses other parts of merpayang plant, such as sap, tree skin, roots as medicines. Keywords: ethnobotany, medicinal plant, merpayang, Sarolangu
Exploration of Tree Species in Muaro Jambi Temple Complex: EKSPLORASI JENIS POHON DI KOMPLEKS CANDI MUARO JAMBI
Muaro Jambi Temple Complex is one of the mainstays of Jambi Province\u27s tourism which began to be introduced both at domestic and international market. The existence of forest tree species found in the Muaro Jambi temple complex is very important to be maintained. Botany exploration activities in the Muaro Jambi temple complex are very important to carry out in order to invent and identify the existing tree species. The data obtained will be useful in the conservation and preservation of tropical forest plants activities comprehensively. This research was carried out at Kotomahligai Temple in the water catchment area / along the river of Muaro Jambi Temple Complex, Muara Jambi Village, Muaro Sebo District, Muaro Jambi Regency also Silviklutur Laboratory and Herbarium of the Faculty of Forestry, Jambi University. The study was conducted for six months from April to October 2018. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of trees found in the Mahligai Temple area and water catchment area of the Muaro Jambi Temple Complex. This study uses a purposive sampling method. The research activities consist of exploration, herbarium specimens, literature studies, species identification. The results showed there were 17 families, including: Anacardiaceae, Burseraceae, Cucurbitaceae, Dilleniaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae, Hyperaceae, Lythraceae, Malvaceae, Meliaceae, Moraceae, Oxalidaceae, Phyllanthaceae, Rubiaceae, Salicaceae, Sapindaceae, Verbenaceae. The most abundant species were Peronema canescens Jack (Sungkai) (86 individual trees) and Lansium parasiticum (Duku) (38 indivisual trees).

Keberadaan jenis-jenis pohon hutan yang terdapat di kompleks percandian Muaro Jambi sangat penting untuk dipertahankan. Kegiatan eksplorasi botani di kompleks percandian Muaro Jambi sangat penting untuk dilaksanakan dalam rangka melakukan inventarisasi dan identifikasi jenis-jenis pohon yang ada. Data yang diperoleh akan berguna dalam kegiatan konservasi dan pelestarian tumbuhan hutan tropis secara menyeluruh. Penelitian dilaksanakan di lokasi Candi Koto Mahligai, di areal resapan air/sepanjang jalur sungai di Kompleks Candi Muaro Jambi, Desa Muara Jambi, Kecamatan Muaro Sebo, Kabupaten Muaro Jambi dan Laboratorium Silvikultur dan Herbarium Fakultas Kehutanan Universitas Jambi. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama enam bulan dari bulan April sampai dengan bulan Oktober 2018. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis-jenis pohon yang terdapat di areal Candi Mahligai dan areal resapan air kompleks Candi Muaro Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Tahapan kegiatan penelitian terdiri dari eksplorasi, pembuatan spesimen herbarium, studi pustaka, identifikasi Jenis. Hasil yang didapatkan yaitu suku yang dijumpai dalam wilayah Candi Koto Mahligai dan Sempadan sungai yang terdapat dalam kompleks Candi Muaro Jambi adalah sebanyak 17 suku, antara lain : Anacardiaceae, Burseraceae, Cucurbitaceae, Dilleniaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Fabaceae, Hyperaceae, Lythraceae, Malvaceae, Meliaceae, Moraceae, Oxalidaceae, Phyllanthaceae, Rubiaceae, Salicaceae, Sapindaceae, Verbenaceae. Jenis pohon yang paling banyak ditemui adalah jenis Peronema canescens Jack (Sungkai) sebanyak 86 individu dan Lansium parasiticum (Duku) yaitu sebanyak 38 individu.

Diversity of Arbuscular Mycorrhizae Fungi from Rhizosphere of Daemonorops draco Blume in Jambi: STATUS FUNGI MIKORIZA ARBUSKULA (FMA) PADA RIZOSFER JERNANG (Daemonorops draco Blume) DI JAMBI
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji keanekaragaman Fungi Mikoriza Arbuskula (FMA) pada rizosfer jernang di Jambi. Teknik pengambilan sampel tanah dan akar dilakukan dengan metode proporsional. Pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan secara komposit pada kedalaman 0-20 cm dan 20-40 cm, contoh tanah diambil dari rizosfer jernang sebanyak 500 g pada setiap batang. Spora diisolasi dengan tehnik tuang saring basah dan dilanjutkan dengan sentifugasi, lalu kepadatan sporanya diukur dan diidentifikasi. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan rata-rata jumlah spora adalah 106,39-209,46 spora per 20 g tanah. Kolonisasi akar berada pada kisaran 39,25%-64,25%. Keanekaragaman FMA menunjukkan 48 tipe spora FMA yang terdiri dari 31 tipe Glomus, 9 tipe Acaulospora, 7 tipe Scutellospora, dan 1 tipe Gigaspora. Glomus memiliki tingkat penyebaran tertinggi di masing-masing kedalaman. Kelimpahan relatif Glomus di kedua kedalaman sebesar 100 %. Frekuensi relatif pada Glomus juga mendominasi pada kedalaman tanah 0-20 cm sebesar 92,27%, dan tanah pada kedalaman 20-40 cm sebesar 95,05%.
Kata kunci: FMA, Daemonorops draco Blume, JambiThe research was conducted with the aim to analyze the diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizae fungi (AMF) from rhizosphere of Daemonorops draco Blume in Jambi. The sampling technique of soil and roots were done by propotional method. Sampling of the soil was carried out compositively at a depth of 0-20 cm and 20-40 cm, soil samples taken from jernang rhizosphere about 500 gram on each stem. Spores were isolated by wet filter pouring technique and continued with centrifugation, then the density of spores was measured and identified. The results showed an increasing number of spore and diversity of AMF. The identification results showed that the average number of spores was 106.39-209.46 spores per 20 gram of soil. The root colonization was in range of 39.25%-64.25%. The AMF diversity is 48 spores type AMF consists of 31 types of Glomus, 9 types of Acaulospora, 7 types of Scutellospora and 1 types of Gigaspora. Glomus has the highest spread rate at each depth. The relative abundance of the genus Glomus at both depths by 100%. The relative frequency of the genus Glomus also dominates at a depth of 0-20 cm is 92.27%, and soil at a depth of 20-40 cm is 95.05%.

Ethnobotanical Study of Food Plant in Bentong Community from Barru Regency, South Sulawesi-Indonesia: KAJIAN ETNOBOTANI TUMBUHAN PANGAN MASYARAKAT SUKU BENTONG DI KABUPATEN BARRU SULAWESI SELATAN-INDONESIA
Masyarakat Suku Bentong hidup di Desa Bulo-Bulo, Kabupaten Barru Sulawesi Selatan. Sekitar 50 tahun yang lalu, masyarakat tersebut masih hidup nomaden, namun saat ini masyarakat tersebut telah hidup menetap. Pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan tumbuhan sebagai bahan pangan oleh masyarakat Suku Bentong belum tercatat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendata dan menguraikan pemanfaatan spesies tumbuhan bahan pangan masyarakat Suku Bentong. Pengumpulan data melalui wawancara informan, observasi, dan pengambilan spesimen herbarium untuk diidentifikasi. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan mengkaji spesies tumbuhan yang digunakan sebagai bahan pangan serta analisis secara kuantitatif menggunakan persamaan indeks kepentingan budaya. Masyarakat Suku bentong menggunakan 70 spesies tumbuhan sebagai bahan pangan meliputi: 1) sebagai makanan pokok terdiri dari 4 jenis yaitu buah ‘kenrang’ (Ficus racemosa) dan umbi ‘sikapa’ (Dioscorea hispida) pada saat masih nomaden serta tanaman padi (Oryza sativa) dan jagung (Zea mays) setelah tinggal menetap; 2) sebagai sayuran 34 spesies; 3) sebagai buah-buahan 33 spesies; dan 4) sebagai minuman 5 spesies. Hasil analisis ICS menunjukkan spesies yang memiliki nilai indeks kepentingan budaya tertinggi adalah tanaman padi (100) diikuti oleh lontar (83), pisang (78), kelapa (48) dan aren (44).

About 50 years ago, the community still lived a nomadic life, but today the community has settled. Knowledge about the use of plants as food ingredients by the people of the Bentong Tribe has not been recorded. This study aims to record and describe the utilization of food plant species of the Bentong tribe. Data collection through informant interviews, observations, and collection of herbarium specimens to be identified. Data were analyzed descriptively by examining plant species used as food ingredients and quantitative analysis using the index of cultural importance. The Bentong tribe uses 70 plant species as food ingredients including: 1) as a staple food consisting of 4 types namely \u27kenrang\u27 fruit (Ficus racemosa) and \u27sikapa\u27 tubers (Dioscorea hispida) when they were still nomadic and rice plants (Oryza sativa) and corn (Zea mays) after settling; 2) as a vegetable 34 species; 3) as a fruits 33 species; and 4) as a drink 5 species. ICS analysis results showed that the species that had the highest cultural importance index value were rice (100) followed by lontar (83), banana (78), coconut (48) and sugar palm (44).

Use of Jerango (Acorus calamus) for Various Diseases Treatment in Eight Ethnics in Aceh Province
Medicinal plants in Indonesia, many varieties in use in various regions, according to the local wisdom of each ethnic group. Jerango (Acorus calamus) is one of medicinal plants used for treatment. At RISTOJA in Aceh Province, Jerango is used by hattra for treatment. The aim of the study was to identify and describe the use of jerango for treatment by various ethnic groups in Aceh Province. The data used were data from RISTOJA research results from the Laboratory of Health Research and Development Agency Data Management. The variables analyzed were various types of diseases that could be treated using jerango potions and the ingredients parts of jerango used by hattra in 8 ethnic groups in Aceh province. The result is that there are 29 jerango herbs used for the treatment like cough, fever / heat, vitality disorders, HIV / AIDS, poisoning, ulcers, magic, diarrhea, childhood illness, venereal disease, pre / postpartum care, headaches, tumors / cancer, and hemorrhoids. Jerango is most widely used for the treatment of pre / postpartum care, cancer / tumors and childhood diseases and for the purposes of things related to magic. The Impact of Forest Plantation Thinning on Flying Insect Community in Sukabumi Forest Management Unit
Insects are part of the forest ecosystem that plays an important role in the sustainability of the ecological functions of the forest plantations. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of thinning on insect communities and determine the types of insects which has potential to be bioindicators in order to assess the success of thinning in forest plantations. This research was conducted on forest plantation at the part of Forest Management Unit (BKPH) Cikawung and West Gede, Forest Management Resort (RPH) Ciguha, Forest Management Unit (KPH) Sukabumi Perum Perhutani Regional Division III West Java and Banten. The plot used in this research is a circular plot with a radius of 17.95 m. The traps used are malaise traps that is spread on thinning blocks at thinning intensity of 20%. The type of stand of thinning plots is Pinus merkusii in the age class 3. The obtained insects later identified to the morphospecies level. The results of the study show that thinning affect changes in environmental conditions and insect composition. In thinning blocks, there was decrease in the number of insect compositions by 11 families, 4 genera and also decrease of 3 morphospecies. Overall, thinning activities have no effect on changes over species richness index and evenness index of insect species. Diptera is a type of insect that can be used as a bioindicator, it states based on the consideration of ease in obtaining information related to taxonomy and biological properties, ease of identification, role of the ecosystem, pressure status and abundance parameters. Waterbirds Diversity in Bengawan Solo Estuary, Gresik, East Java
Bengawan Solo Estuary has a very large area of mudflat, which make it suitable area for waterbird’s habitat. The purpose of this study were to determine the value of diversity index of waterbirds. This study was conducted in mudflat area at Kali anyar estuary, Bengawan Solo. Data was collected on March 2018. The method used to calculate the waterbirds was concentration count and to estimate the population was used block method. The result showed that value of diversity index of birds was 2,029 with the value index of evenness was 0,553. Total species found were 39 species from 7 families. Calidris canutus, Calidris tenuirostris, Chlidonias hybridus and Chlidonias leucopterus were dominant species. There were 2 species Endagered and, 7 spesies Near Threatened according to IUCN also Tweleve spcies were protected in Indonesia. Keywords: Bengawan Solo, bird diversity, mudflat, waterbird
