DIVERSITY AND DISTRIBUTION OF HERPETOFAUNA IN INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI SUMATERA CAMPUS AREA
Land use change of rubber plantation into ITERA campus area has led to changes in the ecology of the area. Amphibians and reptiles, referred as Herpetofauna, are categorized as wild animals that are sensitive to environmental changes and are considered as bio-indicators. Wild conservation activities including herpetofauna is an essential part to the forest campus concept in ITERA. The objective of the study is to analyze the diversity and distribution of herpetofauna. This applied Visual Encounter Survey (VES) with Time Constraint Method and Glue Trap technique. This research was carried out on six observation path and 180 traps. The ecological index analysis consisted of species diversity, evenness, richness, abundance, and community similarity. Twenty-two herpetofauna species were found, including nine amphibians (5 families) and 13 reptiles (9 families). There was one reptile species with vulnerable conservation status and 3 reptile species included in CITES appendix II. The diversity index value (H \u27) was 2.29; species evenness (E) value was 0.74; and species richness value was 3.33. Amphibian species with the highest abundance was Fejervarya cancrivora 1.78 individual/hour of observer, while from the reptile species was Hemidactylus frenatus 0.35 individual/hour of observer. There were 550 herpetofauna encounters, where 8 species could be found on all transects and 6 species could only be found on one transect. This research showed that the condition of ITERA habitat currently supported herpetofauna\u27s life and needed conservation activities to maintain herpetofauna diversity.

MEDICINAL PLANT USE BY SUNDANESE ETHNIC IN NYANGKEWOK HAMLET, SUKABUMI REGENCY
Sundanese ethnic in Nyangkewok hamlet, Sukabumi has been using medicinal plants to cure and prevent illness. This research aims to identify and describe medicinal plant use by Sundanese Ethnic with indigenous knowledge in Nyangkewok Hamlet, Sukabumi. This research was conducted from February to May 2020 with qualitative method. The research resulted in 103 species of 42 plant families used by the Sundanese community in Nyangkewok Hamlet with Zingiberaceae dominant family, the most used part of the medicinal plants was leaves.

EFFECTS OF HUMAN FACTORS IN THE EXISTENCE OF BALI STARLING (Leucopsar rothschildi) THROUGH GEOGRAPHIC INFOMATION SYSTEM APPROACH IN WEST BALI NATIONAL PARK AND NUSA PENIDA BALI
Bali starling (Leucopsar rothschildi) is one of the animals that getting more attention because is categorized as an endengered species on the IUCN red list, Appendix 1 of CITES, and protected animals by goverment of Indonesia. The conservation for recovery of species was carried out by West Bali National Park (WBNP) through release activity and collaboration with conservation organization for release in different place from their natural habitat. The population of bali starling on both locations is tend to decrease, the study aimed to analized the impact of human factor with the existence of bali starling based on geographic information system. The farthest point of bali starling existence form road distance is 1 359 meters on WBNP and 660 meters on Nusa Penida Island, while the closest point on both locations is 0 meter from road distance. The second human factor is village distance with the farthest point of bali starling is 7 296 meters on WBNP and 295 meters on Nusa Penida Island, while the closest point of bali starling is 543 meters on WBNP and 0 meter on Nusa Penida Island. The third human factor is community’s garden distance with the farthest point of bali starling is 5 696 meters on WBNP and 67 meters on Nusa Penida Island, while the closest point of bali starling is 408 meters on WBNP and 0 meter on Nusa Penida Island. The existence point of bali starling that are close to human activites have a negative impact. Bali starling will depend on the resources provided by the community on Nusa Penida Island and part of WBNP and also make it difficult for the bali starling to restore the wild nature for adaptation in natural habitat.

ASSOCIATION BETWEEN DOMINANT TREES SPECIES IN LOWLAND TROPICAL FOREST (EDUCATION FOREST OF JAMBI UNIVERSITY)
Lowland forest vegetation can still be found on the Jambi University Campus, namely at the Jambi Mendalo University Educational Forest (HPUJM). Jambi University Educational Forest is administratively located in Mendalo Indah Village, Jambi Luar Kota District, Muaro Jambi Regency, Jambi Province. Vegetation communities are formed by the presence and interaction of the various types of plants that compose them. The form of interaction between plant species in a community is called an association. Associations can be in the form of positive associations and negative associations. This research was conducted to know the association between dominant tree species. This study used a purposive sampling method by determining a sampling area of 9600 m2 or 0.96 ha measuring 160m x 60m, divided into 24 sub-plots, each measuring 20m x 20m. Species having an Importance Value Index (IVI) of ≥ 10% were used as the association analysis. The 2x2 contingency table was used to analyze whether or not associations were present between tree species. The results showed, of 15 dominant tree combinations, there were only 4 associated combinations, namely the association between Aporosa lucida and Vitex pinnata, the association between Endospermum diadenum and V.pinnata, the association of Litsea ferruginea with Gironniera diadenum, the association of L. ferruginea with V.pinnata.

HEIGHT, DIAMETER AND TREE CANOPY COVER ESTIMATION BASED ON UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE (UAV) IMAGERY WITH VARIOUS ACQUISITION HEIGHT
The forest inventory technique by applying remote sensing technology has become a new breakthrough in technological developments in forest inventory activities. Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) imagery with camera sensor is one of the inventory tools that produce data with high spatial resolution. The level of spatial resolution of the image is strongly influenced by the flying height of the UAV for a certain camera’s focus. In addition, flight height also affects the acquisition time and accuracy of inventory results, although there is still little research on this matter. The study aims to (a)evaluate the effect of various flying heights on the accuracy of tree height measurements through UAV imagery for every stand age class, (b).estimate the trees diameter and canopy cover for every stand age class. Stand height was estimated using Digital Surface Models (DSM), Digital Terrain Models (DTM) and Orthophoto. DSM and DTM were built by converting orthophoto to pointclouds using the PIX4Dmapper based on Structure From Motion (SFM) on the photogrammetric method to reconstruct topography automatically. Meanwhile, the tree cover canopy was estimated using the All Return Canopy Index (ARCI) formula. The results show that the flight height of 100 meters produces a stronger correlation than the flying height of 80 meters and 120 meters in estimating tree height, based on the high coefficient of determination (R2) and the low root mean square error (RMSE) value. In addition, tree canopy estimation analysis using ARCI has a maximum difference of 9.8% with orthophoto visual delineation.

The EFFECTS OF CAJUPUT AND CITRONELLA GRASS AS HOST PLANTS ON SANDALWOOD GROWTH : Sandalwood plant growth
Sandalwood (S. album) is native species in eastern Indonesia, especially East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Its species can produce essential oils and have been known to foreign countries. However, the community\u27s interest in planting sandalwood is low due to a lack of knowledge regarding cultivation techniques and a long harvest period. The purpose of this study was to assess the growth of sandalwood (S. album) with cajuput (M. cajuputi) citronella grass (C. nardus) as the host plant. The research was conducted in Fatunisuan Village, Miomaffo Barat Subdistrict, TTU Regency using a completely randomized design (RAL) of 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely sandalwood without a host (K), sandalwood with cajuput host (CKP), sandalwood with citronella grass as the host plant (CSW), and sandalwood with cajuput and citronella grass as host plants (CKPSW). Data analysis used variance at 95% confidence level. Analysis of variance, which showed that the treatment had a significant effect, was further tested using the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that the mixed system using two types of hosts, namely lemon grass, cajuput or both, significantly increased the growth of sandalwood in the field. The CKPSW treatment gave the highest percentage increase in sandalwood growth compared to other treatments.

BIRD AND ARTHROPOD COMMUNITIES IN FRAGMENTED HABITAT OF TERNATE
Habitat loss and fragmentation affect bird communities. Edge area created by fragmentation can affect bird communities through availability of arthropod. The objectives of this study are to examine whether there is any difference in bird diversity and abundance between different plantation types and location between fragments, and to examine if there is any correlation between arthropod and birds. To record Bird community was recorded using point count method with a distant between points 50 m and a fix radius of 25 m in each point for 10 minutes observation. Observation points were placed in each of edge and interior habitat of Cocos nucifera plantation and Syzygium cumini plantation. Arthropod sampling was done twice using yellow trap. High bird abundance and richness were recorded in edge habitat. A total of 24 bird species of 18 families and 10 orders of arthropod were identified in the study plots. There is no correlation between arthropod and bird abundance. Based on major diet, 46% of bird species were insectivores, while 54% species where other types of eater such as 29% species were frugivores, 9% species were nectarivores, and each 4% of bird species were seabirds, carnivores and scavengers, omnivores, and other bird groups).

OPTIMIZATION OF THE ROLES OF STAKEHOLDERS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SAMARES ECOTOURISM IN BIAK NUMFOR REGENCY
Samares is a coastal area in the villages of Sepse and Imndi in the East Biak District, Papua. Samares has several natural tourism objects that have the potential to be used for ecotourism activities. However, the current condition of the potency for ecotourism has not been well developed. Stakeholders participation was analyzed to identify and map the stakeholders’ involvement and to formulate the role of stakeholders in the development of ecotourism in Samares. This research was conducted in Sepse Village from June to August 2019. Data were obtained from field observations, literature review, questionnaires and semi-directive interview. The data were analyzed using scoring technique to determine interest and influence of stakeholders. The results showed that there were 16 stakeholders involved in the development of ecotourism in Samares, which were categorized as subjects, key players, context setters, and crowds. Stakeholders consist of provincial and district government, NGO, community, and private entities. To enhance the development of ecotourism in Samares, increased collaboration of programs, synchronization and coordination that ecotourism management can be conducted unitedly and efficiently, increase stakeholders’ participation, and increasing tourism promotion activities in Samares.

SUPPLY OPTIMIZATION OF OBJECTS AND NATURAL TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN SITU GUNUNG, GUNUNG GEDE PANGRANGO NATIONAL PARK
Situ Gunung Natural Tourism area as part of Gunung Gede Pangrango Natural Park utilization zone is a popular natural tourism destination. Therefore, the assessment on objects and attraction natural tourism attraction of Situ Gunung (ODTWASG) based on the satisfaction of management as the supply and visitors as the demand is essential to identify object and nature attraction that ecologically, socially, and economically need to be improved or maintained by the managers. The assessment results data were then processed and analyzed by using conformity scale method and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA). The results showed that there was one unsatisfying attribute on both parties in economic scale, i.e., the making of suspension bridge. Besides, there were two attributes of economic ODTWASG that have not been managed optimally. Thus, it has not contributed to customer satisfaction, which were food and beverages prices at the food court as well as water tourism object entrance fee. Therefore, ODTWASG supply optimization could focus on these two economic attributes; first, setting and adjusting the attribute of food and beverages prices, and second, improving water tourism quality.

PERSPEKTIF MASYARAKAT TERHADAP PROGRAM KEMITRAAN KEHUTANAN SEBAGAI SOLUSI KONFLIK TENURIAL DI KESATUAN PENGELOLAAN HUTAN LINDUNG RINJANI BARAT: Community Perspective to Forestry Partnership Programme as Land Tenure Conflict Solution in Protected Forest Management Unit Rinjani Barat
Sebagai bagian penting dari perbaikan tata kelola hutan, Indonesia kini tengah giat mempromosikan dua institusi baru: Kesatuan Pengelolaan Hutan (KPH) dan program Kemitraan Kehutanan (salah satu tipe dari Perhutanan Sosial). Salah satu KPH model di Indonesia adalah KPH Lindung Rinjani Barat atau KPHL RB yang merupakan KPH terbaik pada tahun 2015 melalui pencapaian program Kemitraan Kehutanan sebagai solusi konflik tenurial di wilayah kerja mereka. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana keberhasilan atau kegagalan program Kemitraan Kehutanan dilihat dari perspektif manajemen organisasi dan pandangan masyarakat setempat. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, pertama, melalui program Kemitraan Kehutanan intensitas konflik tenurial antara KPHL RB dan warga lokal berkurang sebesar 80 persen (di dalam peta diindikasikan oleh berubahnya warna merah menjadi kuning). Perjanjian Kemitraan antara KPHL RB dan warga lokal yang melegitimasi (himpunan) hak akses warga di dalam kawasan hutan, menjadi faktor penentu turunnya intensitas konflik tenurial. Kedua, sebagian besar responden (yang merupakan representasi warga lokal) menyatakan bahwa berkat perjanjian Kemitraan mereka memiliki akses yang legitimate ke dalam kawasan hutan. Walau peningkatan kesejahteraan warga lokal belum tampak signifikan sebagai akibat Kemitraan Kehutanan, namun warga kini memiliki security of tenure (keamanan tenurial) yang menjadi landasan penting bagi sustainable livelihood security (keamanan nafkah yang berkelanjutan). Dari perspektif institusi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Kemitraan Kehutanan merupakan program yang terbilang sukses baik di mata komunitas sekitar maupun KPHL RB. Namun demikian, masa depan keberlanjutan program ini menjadi pertanyaan ketika motor program ini, yakni KPHL RB, saat ini berada dalam kondisi yang lemah.
