CHARACTERISTICS AND EXPERIENCES OF BIRDWATCHER IN INDONESIA
Birdwatching is one of nature recreations focusing on enjoying the wild birds. This activity is a hobby that continuously develops and has high economical value, besides beneficial related to conservation. A study of birdwatching in Indonesia is only focused on a bird potential supply concept in various locations without any demand study. A demand study is expected to become the basic of birdwatching management following the birdwatcher desire. This study aimed to analyze the birdwatcher characteristics in Indonesia on demographical, experience, motivation, and preference aspects. The study was performed on February to April, 2020 using online questionnaire distributed to Indonesian birdwatchers. The respondents who completely filled or nearly filled the questionnaire were 1257 birdwatchers. The respondent demographic is dominated by male, adolescent and early adult, living in the city, high educational background, and conservation organization member. The birdwatching experience is dominated by less than 3 hours activity. The protected area becomes the most-visited location by birdwatchers followed by the urban landscape. Bird identification is mostly carried out through visuals rather than through sounds. The most commonly used equipment is the bird fieldguide and binoculars
Description Of Heart Rate, Respiratory Rate, And Body Temperature Of Haliastur Indus In Kamojang Eagle Conservation Center
Brahminy kite or Halistur indus is one of the protected eagle species in Indonesia. The presence of the eagle in the environment is very important because the eagle is one of many environmental health indicators. Based on the last research of H. indus population in Indonesia, the population of H. indus has decreased due to several factors such as pesticide overuse, destruction of natural habitats, illegal hunting, and illegal trading. Therefore, the conservation programs of H. indus are very important to maintain its population in nature. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of H. indus’s health including heart rate, respiratory rate, and body temperature who never described on group a group sample in any journal before. The method used in this study was a descriptive method of 15 H. indus in The Kamojang Eagle Conservation Center, Garut, West Java, Indonesia. The result of the heart rate measurement of 15 H. indus obtained the mean and standard deviation was 173.467 ± 11.275 /minute, respiratory rate was 76.400 ± 14.065 /minute, and body temperature was 42.570 ± 0.290 ˚C
Adaptation and Mitigation Strategy of Communities Around the Natural Tourism Area of Situ Gunung in the Era of the COVID-19 Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused losses to the tourism sector and surrounding communities, including communities around the Situ Gunung natural tourism area. Adaptation and mitigation are needed to reduce the deterioration felt by the community. This research aims to analyze adaptation strategies and strategies for people in the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used is a household survey with an interview based on the method of determining samples with Isaac and Michael tables at a 10% error rate using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the quality of community adaptation is still low, adaptation strategies are carried out by people with vulnerable economic conditions based on the characteristics of their work. Tourist workers and non-tourists have different adaptation strategies but have similar mitigation strategies. Mitigation strategies are already owned by the community but are still in the initiative at the household level. In general, mitigation is planned with asset and financial management, resource allocation, finding primary and side job alternatives, and strengthening social relationships. The role of various parties, especially destination managers, is needed to strengthen adaptation and mitigation of communities at the village level to achieve resilience in the future
DIURNAL ACTIVITY OF CRESTED SERPENT-EAGLE (Spilornis cheela) IN PUSAT SUAKA SATWA ELANG JAWA
Human activity such a deforestation, the extent of hunting and illegal trade of pets nowadays makes Crested Serpent-eagle’s population in its natural habitat is threatened. To overcome the problem, a rehabilitation is needed to keep its sustainability. Diurnal activity observastion is important in the rehabilitation process, because the result can be the standard for the eagle to completing a rehabilitation process and become a determining factor whether the eagle can move to the next rehabilitation stage and whether the animal can be released or not. Pusat Suaka Satwa Elang Jawa (PSSEJ) is one of rehabilitation centres specially established for mountain eagles which conduct eagles’ rehabilitation and release.This research aims at observing the diurnal activities of Crested Serpent-eagle which are in different rehabilitation stages. The observation was conducted during 10 days in September-October 2021 from 08.00 a.m until 04.0.00 p.m. The method used in this research was ad libitum sampling and focal animal sampling in PSSEJ quarantine and training cage. Based on the observation, it is concluded that there were three categories of Crested Serpent-eagles’ activity observed in quarantine cage and training cage. These activities include perching activities, moving activities and hunting activities. Each activity in each cage has a different percentage, but perching activity has the largest presentation in both cages, namely 92.11% in quarantine cages and 81.79% in training cages. This difference is caused by the rehabilitation stages which has been passed by the eagles, the size of the cage, and the environment condition

CONSERVATION PARTNERSHIP IMPLEMENTATION BETWEEN RURAL FORESTRY EXTENSION CENTERS AND KELIMUTU NATIONAL PARK
Wologai Central Village conservation partnership was formed to deal with the increasing spread of invasive Kirinyuh plants in the Kelimutu National Park (KNP) area. This conservation partnership was created in the context of ecosystem recovery with an alternative program in the form of community empowerment around the site through an ecotourism management program. The Wologai Central Village Conservation Partnership aims to improve people\u27s welfare and preserve conservation areas. Still, the management of the Wologai Central Village conservation partnership in the past five years has not shown optimal results for its formation in the control of the KNP area and the management of existing ecotourism. This study aims to determine the implementation of the ongoing conservation partnership between KNP and Sentra Penyuluhan Kehutanan Pedesaan (SPKP, Rural Forestry Extension Centers) in Wologai Central Village using data collection techniques, including interviews, observation, and documentation, which are then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the Wologai Central Village conservation partnership had been appropriately implemented but had not yielded optimal results. HABITAT DISTRIBUTION MODELS OF FLORES HAWK-EAGLE (Nisaetus floris) IN EAST NUSA TENGGARA
Flores hawk-eagle (Nisaetus floris) was a Critically Endangered endemic raptor species in Lesser Sunda Region, especially in East Nusa Tenggara. The lack of information and difficulties in reaching the Flores hawk-eagle\u27s distribution area have caused difficulties in conservation efforts for this species. One of the efforts that could be made was by spatial modeling distribution of Flores hawk-eagle habitat in East Nusa Tenggara based on GIS. Using habitat distribution spatial modeling could predict the potential place where a species can live. Logistic regression was one of the methods applied in animal distribution spatial modeling, where this method was considered to have better accuracy. Through the analysis, it was found that the potential habitat for Flores hawk-eagle was 6390.48 km2 (22%), and the non-potential habitat was 22,459.59 km 2 (78%). The habitat factors that determine the distribution of the Flores hawk-eagle include slope, altitude, rice fields, plantation, forests, and shrubs. The availability of nesting trees and food for Flores Hawk-eagles may influence the distribution of existing habitats. The results of the distribution mapping of the Flores Hawk-eagle can be used as a reference in efforts to manage the habitat of the Flores hawk-eagle in East Nusa Tenggara.

Impact of Tourism Activity in Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu Geopark (CPG), Sukabumi, West Java
Ciletuh-Palabuhanratu is designated by UNESCO as a geopark area and has become a tourist destination. Most of the use of Ciletuh is used for mass tourism, so research is carried out to determine the impact of tourism. This study aims to identify the impact of tourism activities on physical, biotic, socio-economic, and socio-cultural aspects in CPG. Interviews and field observations have been done to collect data at research sites and the determined comparison sites. Data were analyzed descriptively with qualitative and quantitative by comparing the results at the two study sites and the Mann Whitney Test to determine differences in community income. Tourism activities impact physical changes in water, soil compaction, landfill, temperature increase, and humidity decrease. Biotic impacts are changes in the composition of plant species, the composition of encounters of animal species with a decrease in the value of H \u27(1.4) and Dmg (4.2), and the destruction of wildlife. The socio-economic impact was identified from the availability of livelihoods, business opportunities, and increased income. Another impact is given opportunities for the public to contribute and opening access to technological and information developments
Study Of Medicine Plants Ethnobotany In Banceuy Indigenous People Subang Regency, West Java
The Kampung adat Banceuy society is one of the indigenous communities of the archipelago that still practice local wisdom insight, such as plants, for medicinal purposes. This study aims to inventory the diversity of medicinal plants used by the people of Kampung adat Banceuy. The research method was done by direct observation and depth interviews with key informants and respondents. The results show that society has used 48 species (28 families) of medicinal plants for generations. The sources of plants are obtained from around settlements that grow wildly or from their garden. The leaf is the most used plant organ. Herbs are the most common plant habitus used. Medicinal plants were used directly or by processing traditionally first. Medicinal plants are planted independently to maintain availability and indirectly for conservation. This society\u27s inventory of medicinal plants expects to be beneficial information for further conservation and development efforts. This study also presented data on plants used by the indigenous people of Banceuy for various needs
HARDNESS WATER REMOVAL BY USING CELLULOSE PAPYRUS FIBERS (Borrasus flabelifer L) FROM EAST NUSA TENGGARA MODIFIED WITH CITRIC ACID
Hardness water removal using adsorbent ester cellulose citrate from Papyrus Fibers (Borrasus flabelifer L) from East Nusa Tenggara modified with citric acid has been done. The Adsorbent was modified with 0.6 mol/L citric acid at 120o C for one-half hour. The Adsorbent ester cellulose citrate from papyrus fibers (Borassus flabelifer L) has an ester carbonyl functional group (C=O) and O-H alcohol active group (O-H), which react to Ca2+ and Mg2+ from hardness water. The effects of adsorption conditions, such as contact time, pH, and hardness water concentrations were studied. The result shows that ester cellulose citrate from Papyrus Fibers (Borrasus flabelifer L) can remove hard water. The best condition for adsorption hardness water using ester cellulose citrate adsorbent from papyrus fibers in 6 h contact time with pH 6 and 250 mg/L as CaCO3 hardness water. The hardness of water removal is up to 71%.

TYPOLOGY OF HABITAT NEPENTHES ARISTOLOCHIOIDES IN KERINCI SEBLAT NATIONAL PARK
Nepenthes aristolochioides is an endemic species found in Indonesia. This species has a narrow ecological distribution on Mount Tujuh, in the forest area of Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS), Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province. Nepenthes aristolochioides is a rare and critically endangered species of Nepenthes. Unfortunately, the study of environmental factors that influence its existence has not been widely studied. Therefore, a prediction model for the distribution of N.aristolochioides is needed as a solution for managing its habitat. This study aims to make a prediction map of the habitat of N.aristolochioides in Kerinci Seblat National Park. Characteristics of the environmental factors of the N.aristolochiodes habitat that play an essential role in habitat suitability are the variables BIO19 (Precipitation of Coldest Quarter), BIO1 (Annual Mean Temperature), BIO13 (Precipitation of Wettest Month), DEM (Digital Evaluation Model). Prediction of the distribution of N.aristolochiodes habitat with moderate habitat suitability of 10.523 ha, while with a high suitability level, is 4.176 ha. Habitats with a high level of conformity are spread over two main administrative areas, namely, Gunung Tujuh Sector, Gunung Kerinci Sector
