Suling Dewa dalam upacara Ngaponin Suku Sasak
Suling Dewa is a very distinctive art and became the identity of Sasak Lombok Ethnic. This art stores a variety of uniqueness and that is you can’t found in other areas, one of which is the interval of the tone and the lyrics are so contrasting. This art consists only of two players a vocalist and one flute players. In each of the elements in theSuling Dewa Sasak have the meaning of soul from the mirroring of Sasaknese ethnic identity. This distinctive art in its existence in society is widely used in various sacred rituals and ceremonies. One of Suling Dewa functions is used in Ngaponin ceremony or clean up the old metal ceremony every four years. In Ngaponin ceremony series there is one mandatory procession called as Mendewa. The fungtions of Mendewa procession is called the metaphysical object for making the energy wall of guard. Islam Metu Telu is a belief system in Lombok society. This belief system the majority people life in north of Lombok island and the minority you can find that in all areas of Lombok Island. A beautiful combination pattern is contained in the teachings of Islam Metu Telu or also known as Wetu Telu and WaktuTelu. The combination in question is a pattern of syncretism between religions and cultures that are so harmony that so maintained by society. The presentation of Suling Dewa in Ngaponin ceremony consists of two aspects, the textual and contextual. The textual aspect consists of musical events such as gending, music instrument, lyrics of vocal mantra, instrumental organology and contextual aspects including non-musical events consisting of time, place and other ceremonial processions. Suling Dewa to this day is a primary item in a ceremony or a specific ritual that uses Suling Dewa. Any ceremonies and rituals that use Suling Dewa can’t be done without the presence of the Suling Dewa artist. Makna Lirik Nyanyian Andung Dalam Upacara Kematian Sarimatua Pada Masyarakat Batak Toba di Samosir
This study discusses the function and meaning of lyric singing in the ceremony of sarimatua death in Batak Toba society in Samosir. In general, there are problems identified in this study. The main problem is hata andung is rarely used by the Toba Batak community. Batak Toba community more often use the Batak Toba language because not many people Toba Batak who understand about the meaning of andung the truth. For that language andung should be used with hata andung no longer used, so it does not have the value of the tradition attached to the Batak Toba community in Samosir. study conducted during the period of four months, from the beginning of February 2017 to May 2017.To discuss the problem then used the theory of Abdul Chaer in assessing the function and meaning, cultural values contained in andung sarimatua Ompu Juan Boru. The results of this study resulted in some conclusions such as singing andung lacks existence in the Batak community because, the speakers at the ceremony andung Toba batak community dead at the present time is very difficult to find. This andung tradition is considered no longer suitable for today. Some of the factors that result in shifts and changes in the current andung sarimatua traditions are religion, language, and the use of musical instruments.The function of the andung tradition at present in the Toba Batak community death ceremony include: the function of expression of sadness and the closeness of relationships and respect for the deceased family. The meaning contained in andung sarimatua reveals all the feelings and tells the contents of his heart to his deceased mother, tells many things, the longing of sipangandung to uncle and grandfather who have long died also participated expressed and send greetings to them, and expect her mother still can protect his descendants. Jatung Debang is a traditional musical instrument of Dayak Kenyah tribe in Kalimantan archipelago. Made of elliptical wood and included in the category of Xylophone instrument. Eucharist is a sacred and the primary ritual for Catholics, it has adapted to the local culture. This adaption process called inculturation. Some examples of inculturation that is language and music. In Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Pugeran Yogyakarta, inculturation appears with the eucharist with Javanese language and Javanese songs with Javanese musical accompaniment called gamelan. Gamelan is a set of musical instruments that have undergone many developments. Gamelan played generally by men, because the gamelan construction is designed to be played by sitting of male style. But today there’s more and more groups of gamelan involving women as a player. In Pugeran Church found the phenomenon of female kendang (drums) player. This woman has a position as a leader, and it is in contrast to Javenese culture which has patriarchal principle, so that in this research examined the cause of the female kendang player in Catholic church and her performances.The method used in this research is descriptive method of analysis that describes the object in writing and detail. The research is qualitative research with ethnomusicological approach that explores the object not only the form of music (textual) but also all related cultural aspects (contextual). In addition, this research also uses a sociological and theological approach that helps to explore from a socio-cultural point of view and the science of Catholicism. Search data consists by literature study, observation, interviews and documentation. All data is done from October 2017 until June 2018. Mantra is the title of a musical work with spells of West Kalimantan ethnic Malays as the main material for its work. The purpose of this composition is to express spell duality. The concept of duality here is a mantra that is useful as a medium of goodness and a second mantra as a medium for danger. The word mantra itself can be interpreted as words when spoken containing mystic or sacred.Through the stages of exploration, improvisation, until finally the process of explicitly forming spells of musical composition can be seen as a form of music that has three parts. Covers the beginning, middle and end. This composition is played by two different idioms including ethnic musical instruments and ethnic Javanese musical instruments. Besoyong is derived from the word soyong which means the spell or prayers, then besoyong means speaking or singing the spell. Besoyong is usually used by Paser tribe as the media to speak to the ancients spirits and Sangiyang through their daily lives. Besoyong has started to be sung in Traditional Festival of Belian Paser Nondoi once a year at Penajam Paser Utara regency, East Kalimantan. This research explains about presentations form of besoyong continue with internal and external incentive factors of besoyong presence in Traditional Festival of Belian Paser Nondoi. This research uses the theory of Alvin Boskoff about internal and external’s factors of social change applied as internal and external incentive factors of besoyong presence in Traditional Festival Belian Paser Nondoi. Besoyong can be presented individually and also with ensemble. Internal incentive factors of besoyong presence are to elude from evil ghosts, as the mean to invoke clear weather for the festival, as the mean of healing and ast the mean of asking blessing. External incentive factors of besoyong presence are to elevate the district economics & tourism, and to be functioned as the identity of this region
GENDING SANDYAGITA KARYA I WAYAN SENEN TINJAUAN BENTUK DAN FUNGSI
I Wayan Senen is a composer who has a created of the gending sandyagita as a religious gending for Hinduist activities in Yogyakarta. There are several factors of the created gending-gending sandyagita is internal factors and external factors. Which included in internal factors is the desire of achivement, would like to adoption the creation method of Wayan Beratha, and donate the result of artworks. Which included in external factors is birth of a phenomenon, social interaction and a request from an event. In the creation gending sandyagita of Senen, has a mix of karawitan Jawa dan karawitan Bali. Karawitan Jawa is used as a source of design among other forms of gending sampak, vocal melody macapat pangkur, pattern of tabuhan gamelan sekaten, and the main melody vocal panjang ilang. The gamelan creation that used in sandyagitafor Senen is gamelan Semarandana. The method of used in this research is qualitative research. Waramopoy dan Kelentangan Dalam Upacara Kwangkay Pada Suku Dayak Benuaq di Kalimantan Timur
Kwangkay is one of the most recent death ceremonies of all the processes of death ritual that found in the Dayak Benuaq, East Kalimantan. This ceremony is doing by digging back the ancestral bones of the deceased and has been buried for 4 years or more. The bones are led by pengewara (traditional leader). Wara Mopoy is a vocal art form of a mantra recited by the rulers during the routine ritual of giving food to the spirits of the ancestors in every day and it is believed to be the medium to deliver the soul to the highest cosmos (Lamut Paradise). During the ritual process, there is also a musical opposition that serves as a dance accompaniment Ngerangkaw( the dance that carried bones in the back).Death becomes something that passes by certain rules and ritual levels because they believe that the nature of the paradise has different levels according to the level of ceremony performed by the living (family and relatives). This kwangkay ceremony is closely related to the origins and mythology of the Dayak tribe of Benuaq that has shaped and bound them in a Benuaq customary and customary order. Social media, running in support of internet, are now common in use by musicians or bands. Free of charge and global access of internet and social media provide an opportunity to disseminating the existence of a group of musicians. In this paper I would to show how social media has been utilized by a band to promote their group by themselves, focusing on myspace account of two bands, The Upstairs and death Flames. I divide this paper into introduction, an overview of www.myspace.com as well as a brief profile of the two bands, and a discussion on their account, kinds of responses and communication that established based on the accounts.
