    Abstract: The aims of the research were to determine the effect of learning models onlearning achievement viewed from students’ multiple intelligences. The learning models compared werecooperative learning model Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) with problem solving method, Two Stay TwoStray (TSTS) and conventional. This research was a quasi-experimental research using 3?3 factorialdesign. The populations of the research were all students of Junior High School (SMP) onKaranganyar Regency. The samples of the research were the eight grade students of SMP Negeri 1Tasikmadu, SMP Negeri 2 Jaten, and SMP Negeri 5 Karanganyar containing 282 students (94students for first experimental class, 93 students for second experimental class, and 95 students forcontrol class). The samples were chosen by using stratified cluster random sampling. In collectingthe data, the instruments used were test and questionnaire. Test was used to get the students’learning achievement data and questionnaire was used to get multiple intelligences data. Thetechnique of analyzing the data was unbalanced two-ways Anova. The result of the research showsthat: (1) TSTS with problem solving method is better than TSTS and conventional in producingthe students’ Mathematics learning achievement, meanwhile TSTS is as good as conventional inproducing students’ Mathematics learning achievement; (2) students having high multipleintelligences are better than those having middle and low multiple intelligences in producing thestudents’ Mathematics learning achievement, meanwhile students having middle multipleintelligences are better than those who have low multiple intelligences in producing Mathematicslearning achievement; (3) (a) the students’ having high multiple intelligences taught by usingTSTS with problem solving method are better than those having middle or low multipleintelligences in producing the students’ Mathematics learning achievement whereas studentshaving middle multiple intelligences have better learning achievement than those who have lowmultiple intelligences; (b) The students’ having high multiple intelligences taught by using TSTSare better than those who have low multiple intelligences in producing the students’ Mathematicslearning achievement but the students having high multiple intelligences taught by using TSTS areas good as those who have middle multiple intelligences; (c) The students taught by usingconventional having high, middle or low multiple intelligences produce same learningachievement; (4) (a) the students having high multiple intelligences taught by using TSTS withproblem solving method are as good as who are taught by using TSTS and conventional inproducing students’ Mathematics learning achievement; (b) the students having middle multipleintelligences taught by using TSTS with problem solving method are better than those who aretaught by using TSTS and conventional in producing students’ mathematics learning achievementbut they are as good as those who are taught by using TSTS whereas the students taught by usingTSTS are as good as those who taught by using conventional; (c) the students having low multipleintelligences taught by using TSTS with problem solving method, TSTS, and conventional havethe same mathematics learning achievement.Keywords : TSTS, problem solving, multiple intelligence

    ABSTRACT: The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of learning models with approach on achievement of mathematics viewed from the student active learning. The learning approach compared were Teams Games Tournament with Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach, Numbered Heads Together (NHT) with Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach, and direct learning. This research was a quasi-experimental research with 3x3 factorial design. The population was all of the 2nd grade students of junior high school in Klaten regency. Sampling was done by stratified cluster random technique. The instruments used to collect data were the prior mathematics knowledge test, activity learning questionnaire, and achievement of mathematics test. The hypothesis test used unbalanced two way anova. The hypothesis test concluded that (1) students who taught  by TGT learning model with RME approach had the same learning achievement of students who taught NHT models with RME approach, students who taughtby TGT model with RME approach have better achievements mathematics learning than students who taught by direct learning, students who taught by NHT models with RME approach mathematics learning achievement better than students who taught by direct learning (2) based onthe results of unbalanced two way anova in each active category (high, medium, low), haven’t  the same learning achievement if taught TGT-RME learning models, NHT-RME, or directly, but based on the results of post hoc test anova have the same in the academic achievement of each activity category (high, medium, low) if taught TGT-RME learning model, NHT-RME, or directly. (3) based on the results of unbalanced two way anova haven’t the same in mathematics achievement in each category learning model(TGT-RME, NHT-RME, direct), between students with high active, medium, or low. However, based on post hoc anova, in each category learning model (TGT-RME, NHT-RME, right), students with high active, medium, or low have the same of mathematics achievement.     Abstract: This study aimed to investigate: (1) which type more effective, a CMGR type, a CM type, or a Direct Instruction, (2) which one had a better mathematics achievement, students who had high, middle or low motivation students, (3) in each CMGR type, a CM type or Direct Instruction model, which one had a better mathematics achievement, students who had high, middle, or low motivation (4) in each motivation students (high, middle and low), which one more effective, students taught by a CMGR type, a CM type, or a Direct Instruction. We used the fifth grade students of elementary school in Nusawungu Subdistrict as the population. This study was a quasi experimental research by 3 x 3 factorial design. The instruments used to collect data are prior ability test in mathematics, a motivation questionnaire and achievement test in mathematics. The data were analyzed using unbalanced two ways analysis of variance. Based on the data analyzed, it was concluded that: (1) a CMGR type had better mathematics achievement than a CM type and a Direct Intruction, and a CM type had better mathematics achievement than a Direct Instruction, (2) the high motivation students had better mathematics achievement than the middle and low motivation students, and the middle motivation students had better mathematics achievement than the low motivation students, (3) for all types of learning model, high motivation students had better mathematics achievement than middle and low motivation students, (4) for high and middle motivation students, a CMGR type more effective than a CM type and Direct Instruction, and for low motivation students, a CM type more effective than a CMGR type and Direct Instruction.Keywords : Concept Mapping Group Resume (CMGR), Concept Mapping (CM), Direct Instruction, Motivation, Mathematics Achievement

    Abstract: This research aimed to know: (1) which of the NHT modified model, the NHT model or the direct learning model promoted the students? better achievement on mathematics, (2) which one is better, the students with visual learning style, auditorial learning style, or kinesthetics learning style, and (3) in various learning style, which one having better achievement on mathematic, the NHT modified model, the NHT model or the direct learning model. This research was a quasi-experiments research with factorial design 3x3. The population of this research was the eight grade students of State Junior High Schools in Ponorogo. The sample was taken by the use of stratified cluster random sampling technique. The data collecting made use the documentation, questionnaire, and test methods. The documentation method was used to collect the data of the second-semester students? achievement on mathematics in the academic year 2011/2012 as found in their report books. This finding was further applied to check the balance of the students of the two exsperiment classrooms and one control classroom. The questionnaire was used to find the type of learning style mostly owned by the students. Whiles, the test was used to determine the students? achievement on mathematics in the straight line equation topic. Examination of hypothesis used an unbalanced two way analysis of variances at significance levels 5%. The results of the research was as follows: (1) the students? achievement on mathematics due to NHT modified model was equally due to NHT model, while the two models above was better than due to direct learning model, (2) there was no distinction among visual learning style, auditorial learning style, and kinesthetics learning style based on the students? achievement on mathematics, and (3) in various of learning style, the students? achievement on mathematics due to NHT?s modification model was equally due to NHT model, while the two models above was better than due to direct learning model.Keywords: the NHT Modified, the Direct Learning Model, the Learning Styl

    ABSTRACT : The aims of this research were: (1)to determine whether the AfLwith peer assessment of trigonometry topics can be applied in Karangpandan Senior High School, (2) to know which is more effective of the application of the AfL with peer assessment in improving students’ achievement compare with direct instruction,(3) to know the influence of students’ learning styles toward mathematics learning achievement of students in the trigonometry subject, (4)to determine the effect of the application of the AfL with peer assessment in improving student achievement be compared with direct instruction in terms of students' learning styles on trigonometry subject. The research was dividedi nto two phases, the first phase is the determination of the model development stage and the AfL with peer assessment are included in research and development. In this stage, be done data collection, prototype planning model,Focus Group Discussion (FGD) were implemented and manufacture of prototype model then be tested. Tests carried out by 4 learning cycles.The second phase was to test the effectiveness of a model that includes quasi-experimental research by design research 2×3. The population of this research was eleven grade students of Karang pandan Senior High School of the first semester of the academic year 2012/2013. Samples were divided into two groups,experimental and control groups. The data analysis technique of this research that being used inthis study was unbalanced two-way analysis of variance.Based on the result of the analysis, we can conclude that:(1) the model of the AfL with peer assessment can be applied in Karangpandan Senior High School State. During the implementation of theAfL with peer assessment, the students being involved in learning and assessment learning, so more enjoyable and mathematics achievementof students is also increasing (2)students taught using AfL with peer assessment have mathematics achievement better than students taught using direct instruction, (3) students with kinesthetics learning style have higher mathematics achievement thanstudents with visual and auditory, while students with a visual learning style have a better achievement than students with auditory learning style, (4)at all the kinds of learning styles, students with applied learning AfL with peer assessment have better mathematics achievement than students with direct learning.Keywords: Assessment, Assesment for Learning (AfL), Peer Assessment, Learning Style

    Abstract: The aims of this research are to know: (1) Which one more effective, learning using discussion with realistic mathematics approach, Quantum Learning (QL) or a conventional learning. (2) Which one gives better mathematics learning achievement, student with personality types Sanguine, Melancholy, Choleric or Phlegmatis. (3) Which one more effective for each personality type of students, learning using discussion with PMR, QL or a conventional learning. This research used quasi experimental method with its population included all of students of state junior high school in East Lampung Regency. Sampling was done by stratified cluster random sampling. The size of the samples was 303 students. The data collection technique were the document that was the last of examination the seven grade for initial capability data before the experiment, achievement tests for mathematics student achievement data, and questioner of personality types. The data was analyzed using analysis of variance. The conclusions of the research were as follows: (1) learning mathematics using discussion with PMR is as effective as learning mathematics using the method of discussion with QL. However, learning of mathematics using discussion with PMR approach is more effective than learning mathematics using discussion with conventional approach. Likewise, learning mathematics using discussion with QL approach is more effective than learning mathematics using discussion with conventional approach. (2) Students with personality types of Sanguine, Melancholy, Choleric, nor Phlegmatis have the same mathematics achievement. (3) For each personality type of students, learning using discussion with PMR approach is as effective as using discussion with QL.     AbstractThe objective of this research is to investigate: (1) which of the TPS learning model with Quantum Learning approach, the TPS learning model, and the conventional learning model results in a better learning achievement of the students; (2) which of the students with the high, medium, and low learning interest levels have a better learning achievement; (3) which of the students taught in the TPS learning model with Quantum Learning approach, the TPS learning model, and the conventional learning model have a better learning achievement with the high, medium, and low learning interest levels; and (4) which of the students have a better learning achievement in each of the learning interest levels with the TPS learning model with Quantum Learning approach, the TPS learning model, and the conventional learning model. This research used the quasi-experimental method with the factorial design of 3 x 3. The population of this research was all of the 12th-grade students of the engineering vocational secondary schools in Kebumen regency in the academic year of 2012/2013. The data of this research were gathered through documentation, questionnaire, and achievement test. The test on the hypothesis of the research was conducted by using unbalanced Two-way Analysis of Variance. The results of this research are as follows: (1) the TPS learning model with Quantum Learning approach and the TPS learning model result in an equal learning achievement whereas the TPS learning model with Quantum Learning approach results in a better learning achievement than the conventional learning model. However, the TPS learning model and the conventional learning model result in an equal learning achievement; (2) the students with the high learning interest level have an equal learning achievement to those with the medium and low learning interest levels; (3) the TPS learning model with Quantum Learning approach results in an equal learning achievement to the TPS learning model but results in a better learning achievement than the conventional learning model in the high, medium, and low learning interest levels whereas the TPS learning model results in an equal learning achievement to the conventional learning model in the high, medium, and low learning interest levels; and (4) the students with the high learning interest level have an equal learning achievement to those with the medium and low learning interest levels in the TPS learning model with Quantum Learning, the TPS learning model, and the conventional learning model.Keywords: Learning achievement, TPS, Quantum Learning, conventional, and learning interes

    Abstract:This research aims to find out: (1) which one providing better mathematics learning achievement, Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with Lesson Study based contextual approach, Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with contextual approach, or conventional learning, (2) which one providing mathematics learning achievement, the students with visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learning styles, (3) in each learning model, which one providing better mathematics learning approach, the students with visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learning styles, (4) in each learning style, which one providing better mathematic learning achievement, Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with Lesson Study-based contextual approach, Jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with contextual approach, or conventional learning model.This study was a quasi-experimental research with 3x3 factorial design. The population of research was all IX graders of MTs Negeri of Madiun Regency in the school year of 2012/2013 consisting of 13 school. The sampling technique used was stratified cluster random sampling with 259 students as the sample. The school classification based on the Mathematics score in National Examination of 2010/2011 school year obtained MTsN Kare for the sample with high classification, MTsN Sidorejo Wungu for the one with medium classification, and MTsN Rejosari for the one with low classification. The research instrument used was mathematics achievement test and student learning style questionnaire. Technique of analyzing data used was an umbalanced twoway analysis of variance.The conclusions of research were: (1) the jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with lesson study-based contextual approach provided better learning achievement than the one with contextual approach and conventional learning, while the jigsaw type of cooperative learning model provided the achievement as same as the conventional learning did. (2) the students with visual learning style had learning achievement equal to those with auditory learning style, while both of them had better learning achievement than those with kinesthetic learning style. (3) the students with the visual,auditorial and kinesthetic learning style, the jigsaw type of cooperative learning model with lesson study-based contextual approach provided better mathematics learning achievement than jigsaw type cooperative learning with contextual approach and conventional learning, while the jigsaw type of cooperative learning provided the achievement as same as the conventional learning did.     Abstract: The purpose of this research was describing the ability of mathematical communication in solving the mathematics problem. This research was include of study case situation analysis research. The subjects of this research consisted of four students of Class IXb of the ninth grade SMPN 1 Surakarta in the second semester of the academic year 2012/2013.  They were two students who had field dependence cognitive style and two students who had field independence cognitive style. The subjects were taken by using the purposive sampling technique. The data of this research were gathered through think aloud method. The data were then analyzed by using the technique with the procedureas follows: (1) the data were classified on the basis of the indicators of mathematical communication after the data had been obtained from the first and the second collections; (2) the data were presented in table form; and (3) the conclusions were drawn. The validity of the data was conducted by using time triangulation. The result of this research were analyzed by using constant comparison in which subject in i (i= 1, 2) with the j (j= 1, 2) cognitive style which was already valid as well compared with subject in k (k= 1, 2) with the the j (j= 1, 2) cognitive style which was already valid as well. The equal ability of mathematical communication was made the main finding wheares the different ability of mathematical communication was made the other finding. The result of this research valid because of the dependability proved. The ability of mathematical communication of the students with the field dependence cognitive style is different from that of those with the field independence cognitive style. The students with the field dependence cognitive style can communicate the ideas in written way well but they have difficulties in communicating ideas in spoken way as well as inclination to receive information without reorganizing it in such a way that the problem-solving ideas presented cannot reveal the actual problem solution. Meanwhile, the students with the field independence cognitive style can communicate the ideas well in both spoken and written ways and process as well as reorganize information in such a way that the problem-solving ideas presented can reveal the actual problem solution.     Abstract: The objectives of this research are to investigate the effect of learning models on representation and mathematical problem solving ability viewed from the student prior knowledge. The learning models compared were cooperative combined with quantum learning and contextual learning. The samples of this research were taken by using stratified cluster random sampling technique. The populations were all of the students in grade VII of State Primary Schools in Sukoharjo regency 2012/2013. The number of the samples was 142 students, in which 72 students in the experimental class one, and 72 students in the experimental class two. The instrument used to collect the data were test of the representation ability and test of the problem solving ability. The data was analyzed by using multivariate analysis of variance. The results of the research are: (1) the students taught by using contextual learning have better on both the representation and the mathematical problem solving ability than the students taught by using cooperative combined with quantum learning, (2) the students having high prior knowledge category have better on both the representation and the mathematical problem solving ability than the students having medium prior knowledge category, and the students having medium prior  knowledge category have better on both the representation and the mathematical problem solving ability than students having low prior knowledge category, (3) there was no interactions between the learning model and the prior knowledge toward the students’ representation and mathematical problem solving ability. It means that the use of either of contextual learning model or cooperative combined with quantum learning model, the students having high prior knowledge category have better on both the representation and mathematical problem solving ability than the students having  medium  prior knowledge category, and the students having medium prior knowledge category have better on both the representation and the mathematical problem solving ability than the students with low prior knowledge category. The students having high, medium, or the low prior knowledge taught by using contextual learning have better on both the representation and the mathematical problem solving ability than the students taught  by using cooperative combined with quantum learning.
