PEMBELAJARAN LIDIMATIKA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN SISWA SD DALAM OPERASI PERKALIAN
Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of lidimatika multiplication method on elementary school students' mathematics achievement. This research type is quasi experiment research. The population of this study is all the rest of SD Ngrukeman. Samples taken are class IIIA students as experimental class and grade IIIB students as control class. The experimental class acquired mathematics learning using the lidimatika method, while the control class used conventional learning. The instrument used in this study is the test of achievement. To examine the effect of applying lidimatika learning method to achievement, data were analyzed by using unpaired t test. The results showed that lidimatika's learning method had a positive effect on student’s achievement.Keywords: Achievement, Lidimatika Method
EFEKTIVITAS PEMBELAJARAN DI LUAR KELAS (OUTDOOR LEARNING) DENGAN PENDEKATAN PMRI PADA MATERI SPLDV
Abstract: In learning process, teachers often ignore students’ initial knowledge. Students are not given the opportunity to rediscover and construct their own mathematics ideas. Classroom learning activities are often boring. It can affect students' learning motivation. The low learning motivation of students towards mathematics subject influences students’ learning outcomes. For this reason, learning innovation is a crucial matter. PMRI approach is offered as a solution which learning process is done outside the classroom with a game, learning that links mathematics material with everyday life context, and learning that views students as active participants. The purpose of this study is to describe the effectiveness of outdoor learning with PMRI approach in SPLDV material. The subjects in this study are students of class VIII-C of State Junior High School (SMPN) 4 Lamongan and teachers who carried out learning. It is descriptive research with one shot case study design. The results reveal that the teachers’ ability in managing learning with PMRI approach is effective, because each observed aspect is included in good/very good category. Students’ activities during learning process with PMRI approach are effective because every aspect of students’ activity is categorized in the range of effectiveness. Students' classical learning completeness is good, which is shown by 83% of students fulfilling KKM. So, it can be concluded that outdoor learning with PMRI approach in SPLDV material is effective..Keywords: Effectiveness, Outdoor Learning, PMRI, SPLDV
KEARIFAN LOKAL DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA SEBAGAI PENGUAT KARAKTER SISWA
Abstract: Mathematics in schools needs to function as a means to develop intelligence, abilities, and skills to form student personalities. Mathematics must be linked to reality, being close to the students and relevant to society in order to have a human value. However, the mathematical concepts taught are still far from the daily life of the students. At the same time, the importance of strengthening character education is needed along with the weakening of the nation’s character. Therefore, educational institutions in Indonesia can implement education based on local wisdom. Education based on local wisdom is more education based on cultural values. Character education based on local wisdom aims at introduce local culture to students. In addition, character education based on local cultural wisdom also has the goal of changing attitudes and also the existing human resource behavior in order to improve work productivity to face various challenges in the future. This type of this research is library research, which is a series of research related to lbrary data collection method, or research whose research object is explored through various library information. The data used in this research is secondary data. Secondary data sources in question are primary and original scientific books and reports contained in articles or journals concering students’ abilities in learning activities. With math-based learning local wisdom, mathematics is expected to be closer to the life of students and students also recognize the noble values of the nations’s culture an an amplifier of their character.Keywords: Student’s Character, Local Wisdom, Mathematics
EKSPERIMENTASI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN SSCS TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN DISPOSISI MATEMATIS DAN PRESTASI BELAJAR MATEMATIKA
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to know which mathematics learning achievement and mathematical disposition of students better, students who are given SSCS learning model or students who are given expository learning method. The population of this study were all eighth grade students of Karanganyar N 3 Junior High School 2016/2017 school year consisting of eight classes with 256 students. The sample in the study amounted to 64 students consisting of experimental class and control class. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. Data collection methods use test and questionnaire methods. Analysis prerequisite test used is normality test using Lilliefors test, homogeneity test of variance using Bartlett test and balance test using t test. Data were analyzed using multivariate difference test statistic, then follow-up of multivariate statistic was done by univariate test. Based on hypothesis test (1) using multivariate mean difference test obtained result that and turns . So it was concluded that the average students' mathematical disposition ability and student achievement in SSCS and expository learning models were all not the same. (2) based on the univariate test of mathematical disposition of students obtained the test statistic and , it turns out so it concluded that the mathematical disposition of students with SSCS learning model is better than with the average ability of mathematical disposition of students with model expository learning. (3) based on univariate test of mathematics learning achievement of students that have been done obtained the price of test statistic and , it turns out so that it concluded that students' mathematics learning achievement with SSCS learning model is better than student's mathematics learning achievement with an expository learning model.Keywords: Learning Achievement, Mathematical Disposition, SSCS
ANALISIS KEBUTUHAN MODUL PEMBELAJARAN GEOMETRI ANALITIK BERBASIS MULTIREPRESENTASI
Abstract: The purposes of this research were: (1) Analyzing the implementation of analytical geometry learning at the Mathematics Education Department of STKIP PGRI Nganjuk; (2) Finding out lecturers’ needs of teaching materials that helped students improve students’ learning achievements; (3) Finding out students’ needs of teaching materials that helped students improve their creativity and learning achievement. This was a qualitative and descriptive research. The subjects in this research were chosen by using purposive sampling. The chosen subjects of this research were the sixth-semester students at the Mathematics Education Department of STKIP PGRI Nganjuk. Collecting data was performed by the researchers themselves by using observation sheets and questionnaires as the main and supporting instruments. Processing and analyzing data were performed in four steps: (1) coding data; (2) data tabulation; (3) qualitative data analysis; (4) interpretation of the results of the analysis. The researchers found that: (1) The implementation of analytical geometry learning in the mathematics education department still used the lecture and discussion methods meanwhile the used teaching materials were books which only emphasize on the material and solving the routine problems; (2) The lecturers needed modules as teaching materials that could help students improve learning outcomes and creativity in problem-solving; (3) 76% of students found difficulties in analytical geometry courses and 86% of students stated that the existing teaching materials did not make them completely understand and got motivated in learning so the students agreed with and supported the creation and development of multi-representation based of analytical geometry learning modules.Keywords: Analytical Geometry, Analysis of Needs, Module, Multi-Representation
PROBLEMATIKA PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA PADA MATERI STATISTIKA SMP KELAS IX
Abstract: The present study is addressed to inform the problems experienced by students in statistical material, especially related to mean, median and mode. It is also attempted to find out alternative solutions to overcome the difficulties faced by students. The subjects in this study are 30 students at ninth grade of State Junior High School (SMPN) 1 Maluk who are selected purposively. The type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data are obtained from interviews results with two categories of difficulties, namely related to the understanding of concepts and the application of mean, median, and mode formulas. The difficulties faced by students are: (1) understanding the concepts of mean, median, and mode; (2) applying the formulas and solving problems related to mean, median and mode. The solution offered from this research is analyzing students’ difficulties in understanding mean, the number of data, and the amount of data. In deciding median, students do not pay attention to the provided data, whether it is sequential from the smallest to the largest. Meanwhile, in determining mode, students must understand that there will be three possibilities, namely, data may not have a mode, data only have one mode (single), and data have more than one mode.Keywords: Problematic, Statistics, Mean, Median, Mode
MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS MELALUI CTL
Abstract: This study aims to explain how Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach adopted in the study of mathematics can develop student` critical thinking skills. The method used in this research is literature study (library research). The data in this study is a secondary data such as the results of the research as scientific books, scientific journals, research report, and other relevant sources. Data analysis techiques in the study include three stages, namely organize, synthesize, and identify. The research result showed that the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach to the stages of learning, among others (1) presentation of problems/a real situation; (2) group discussion, which includes the finding activities and reflection; and (3) exercise a math problem, has relevance to the indicators on critical thinking skills, namely interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and decision. So that it can be concluded that Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach able to improve the critical thinking skills when applied in the study of mathematics.Keywords: CTL, Critical Thinking Skill
EFEKTIFITAS ICE BREAKING MENGGUNAKAN KUIS MATEMATIKA TERHADAP MINAT BELAJAR SISWA PEMBELAJARAN
Abstract: The objective of the study is to determine ice breaking effectiveness using mathematics quiz on students' interest in learning mathematics. The population of this study is eleventh grade students at one of the state vocational schools (SMKN) in Surabaya in the academic year of 2017/2018. The research sample is students of class XI Multimedia 2, consisting of 33 students. This is an experimental research with pre-experimental method using one-shot case study design. In collecting the data, the researchers use students’ learning interest questionnaires, observation, and interview. The data analysis technique is carried out quantitatively based on the calculation of students’ mathematics learning interest questionnaire scores. The results show that is 3.45 and is 2.04 in 0.05 significance level. Because the value of ( ), then Ha is accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is an influence of ice breaking using mathematics quiz on students’ learning interest. It means that the application of ice breaking uses mathematics quiz on students' learning interest is effective.Keywords: Ice Breaking, Mathematics Quiz, Learning Interest
MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN SISWA PADA ASPEK BERPIKIR KREATIF MATEMATIKA MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM POSING
Abstract: Low creative thinking ability can result in low mathematics problem solving ability. In achieving creative thinking indicator, students are required to carry out creative activities, such as answering mathematics tasks continuously. In relation with this condition, a supportive learning model is needed to improve students' ability in the aspect of creative thinking. One of learning models that can be applied in improving students' creative thinking ability is problem posing. In Problem Posing, students are asked to make questions based on information or situations given through group discussion activities. This study aims to determine whether there are differences in students’ creative thinking ability before being taught with Problem Posing learning and after being taught with it. It is also intended to determine whether there is an increase in students' creative thinking ability through the implementation of Problem Posing. The sample of this study is students of VII E of State Junior High School (SMPN) 1 Karanganyar. This is experimental research which applies One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data analysis is performed at the pretest and posttest values using t test and n-gain test. The results show that there is an increase in students’ creative thinking ability up to 0.32, which included as medium improvement.Keywords:Creative Thinking, Problem Posing
PENGARUH MODEL PAKEM BERBASIS TIK PADA MATERI TRIGONOMETRI TERHADAP KEMANDIRIAN BELAJAR SISWA
Abstract:Self-autonomous learning is an attitude of learning by taking an initiative, regulating and controlling learning, seeking and utilizing relevant learning resources, choosing and implementing learning strategies, and evaluating learning outcomes. Self-autonomous learning needs to be developed, because it is a thing that determines the success of Active, Creative, Effective, and Fun Learning implementation to achieve students’ learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the effect of Active, Creative, Effective, and Enjoyable Learning Models (PAKEM) on students’ self-autonomous learning at tenth grade in development design program of State Vocational School (SMKN) 3 Surabaya in the academic year of 2017/2018. This research is an experimental research. The population is tenth grade students of development Design of SMKN 3 Surabaya in the academic year of 2017/2018. The samples in this study are 15 students, consisting of 5 male students and 10 female students. The instrument used to collect data is self-autonomous learning questionnaire. The questionnaire trial includes content validity and reliability. The results show that there is a positive and significant influence on students’ self-autonomous learning after the implementation of PAKEM model. It can be seen based on t test, = 2.078 greater than = 1.761 with a significance level of 0.05%. Thus the overall results of this analysis support the proposed hypothesis.Keywords:PAKEM, Self-autonomous Learning, Trigonometry
