    Spiritual Values and Spiritual Practices: Interactive Effects on Leadership Effectiveness

    The relationship between spirituality and leadership effectiveness has been discussed over decades. These relations have been separated in two big perspective—first, an esoteric realm of intangible ideas and emotions; and second, a practical area and scientific inquiry. This research tries to integrate these two different perspectives. Specifically, this research examines the effects of spiritual values and spiritual practices on leadership effectiveness. The findings indicate that spiritual values and spiritual practices have positive effects on leadership effectiveness. This research also shows that spiritual values and spiritual practices have interactive effects on leadership effectiveness. This result implies that organizations should enhance the spiritual values and practices.     The Comparison of Soundness Level of Islamic Banks in Indonesia and Malaysia

    This study was conducted to analyze the soundness comparison of Islamic banks in Indonesia and Malaysia to measure the readiness of Islamic banks in both countries In facing of financial integration in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by 2020. The study uses data of annual financial statements in 10 Islamic banks in each country in period 2012-2014 using CAMEL Method. The results of this study indicate that Islamic banks in Malaysia are relatively better prepared compared to Islamic banks in Indonesia. Islamic Banks in Malaysia tend to be more soundness than Islamic Banks in Indonesia during periods of 2012 to 2014.  The implication based on finding indicated that the Islamic banks in Indonesia need improvement in the product diversification both on financing or funding to compete in ASEAN Region.DOI: 10.15408/etk.v17i1.671

    Evaluation Of Macroprudential Policy On Credit Growth In Indonesia: Credit Registry Data Approach

    Macro-prudential policies have an essential role in mitigating the imbalances in the financial sector that stem from procyclical credit growth. This study aims to evaluate macro-prudential policy in mitigating risk on procyclical credit growth with a registry data approach. Structural Vector Autoregression (SVAR) analysis method is used to evaluate macro-prudential policy in influencing credit growth. The results show LTV instruments can reduce credit growth but not to procyclical mitigation. Dissimilar results in the implementation of CCB and GWM + LDR instruments are capable of procyclical credit mitigation. Policies that can be done by the central bank are the establishment of an early warning system in macro-prudential policy as well as strengthening of Countercyclical Buffer (CCB), Loan to Value (LTV) instruments and Minimum Reserve Requirement + Loan Funding Ratio (GWM + LFR) in capturing systemic risks from various sources which further strengthens the assessment and surveillance.DOI:10.15408/etk.v17i2.732

    Influence of Transformational Leadership and Work Engagement On Innovative Behavior

    Innovative behavior, employee engagement and transformational leadership are critical variables that should be the focus of every organization’s this era of rapid technological change. This study aims to determine the effect of transformational leadership and work engagement on innovative behavior in the banking industry in Indonesia. The technique sampling is purposive sampling, so the numbers of samples are 378 people. The Data analysis technique is multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that transformational leadership and work engagement have a significant and positive effect on innovative behavior, in which work engagement as a mediating variable will to the positive influence of transformational leadership on innovative behavior. These findings suggest that it is necessary to apply transformational leadership styles and increase employee engagement to improve innovative employee behavior.DOI: 10.15408/etk.v17i2.742

    Competitiveness and Factors Affecting Indonesian Food Industry’s Export to Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership

    Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) is regional cooperation between ASEAN, Australia, China, India, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand. The vast potential of the RCEP provides an opportunity for the improvement of the Indonesian economy. This study aims to analyze the comparative advantages and dynamics export of Indonesia’s food industry as well as the factors affecting exports. The methods used Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Export Product Dynamic (EPD), and panel data. The results indicate that food industry generally has strong competitiveness in the RCEP market except in Australia, Cambodia, Japan, Korea and Laos. Meanwhile, the dynamics position of food industry exports is rising star in ten countries, and the rest are in the position of falling star and retreat. Factors that influence food exports are economic distance, real GDP per capita of the destination country, the population of the destination country, price export, trade openness and tariff.DOI: 10.15408/etk.v17i2.723

    Efficiency of Financing in Sharia Cooperatives

    Efficiency is one of the performance’s indicator in sharia cooperatives. This study uses data envelopment analysis (DEA) method to measure the efficiency of financing sharia cooperatives. DEA is one method of measuring efficiency using frontier analysis that has proven its use. Samples to be used are KJKS Kota Bambu Utara (KBU) and Kota Bambu Selatan (KBS). On average, KJKS KBU has a value high enough efficiency reached 98.7%. Meanwhile, KJKS KBS achieve 100% efficiency. This research has an important role in optimizing the efficiency of sharia cooperative, so that its presence can provide great benefits to society.DOI: 10.15408/etk.v16i2.543
