    Über eine Verbesserung der Moralität beruflicher Handlungen eines Physikers. Ein neues Element der Inkulturation des Christentums in eine wissenschaftlich-technologische Zivilisation

    Physiker sind durch die etablierten Standards der Physik gebunden, in einem erkenntnistheoretischen Rahmen zu denken und zu arbeiten, der zutiefst von I. Kant beeinflusst ist. Das erkenntnistheoretische Klima, in dem sie sich befinden, steht im Gegensatz zum erkenntnistheoretischen Klima des natürlichen Realismus und damit zum erkenntnistheoretischen Klima der christlichen Offenbarung, wenn diese über unsere Welt spricht. Dieser Kontrast beeinträchtigt die innere Harmonie der mentalen Welt eines jeden Physikers in einem Maße, das sowohl von seiner Denkweise insgesamt als auch von seiner beruflichen Arbeit abhängt. Diese Situation hält seit der wissenschaftlichen Revolution des 17. Jahrhunderts an, so dass die frühere, von realistischem und christlichem Geist durchdrungene Zivilisation im Großen und Ganzen durch eine wissenschaftlich-technologische Zivilisation verdrängt ist. Die historische Entwicklung der Physik hat dahin geführt, dass die berufliche Arbeit der Physiker mit ihren unbezweifelbaren Erfolgen und Beiträgen zum Fortschritt unmittelbar zusammen mit ihrem moralisch guten Objekt zwei verkettete moralisch schlechte Wirkungen erzeugt. Die erste schlechte Wirkung ist die Koexistenz zweier erkenntnistheoretischer Klimata im Geist eines Physikers, was der Harmonie seiner geistigen Welt schadet. Dies bringt unmittelbar eine zweite schlechte Wirkung mit sich, insofern ein Physiker, der wettbewerbsfähig sein will, sich verpflichtet sieht, den Standards der Physik zu folgen, so wie sie gerade sind. So trägt er zum Mangel an Harmonie in seiner eigenen geistigen Welt bei und damit zugleich dazu, den Geist dieser Standards zu verewigen. Die Lage ist noch misslicher für einen Physiker, der Christ ist und seine berufliche Arbeit zur Ehre Gottes tun will (vgl. 1 Kor 10,31). In beiden Fällen bestreitet ein Physiker praktisch durch seine berufliche Tätigkeit, wovon er theoretisch überzeugt ist, nämlich vom natürlichen Realismus und im Falle eines Christen zusätzlich davon, dass die christliche Offenbarung von dieser Welt im Geist des natürlichen Realismus spricht. Das alles ist nicht unbekannt, wird aber nichtsdestoweniger im akademischen Diskurs praktisch nicht berührt. Der Zweck dieses Artikels ist es daher, auf dieses Thema aufmerksam zu machen und dann einige Möglichkeiten vorzuschlagen, den Kontrast der erkenntnistheoretischen Klimata spezifischer zu untersuchen. Da die Physik durch experimentelle Eingriffe mitbestimmt wird, ist ihre historische Entwicklung teilweise kontingent. Daher ist es möglich, eine bessere Harmonie des erkenntnistheoretischen Klimas der Physik mit dem des natürlichen Realismus herbeizuführen, wozu einige Ideen vorgeschlagen werden. Falls sie sich als fruchtbar erweisen, würden sie zur Inkulturation des Christentums in unserer wissenschaftlich-technischen Zivilisation beitragen.     Summary The novel “A Man who Knew the Snake Words” by an Estonian writer Andrus Kivirähk (Andrus Kivirähk, Mees, kes teadis ussisõnu, translated from Estonian by Zane Balode, Riga, “Lauku Avīze”, 2007, 335., in Latvian - 2011) is a parabolic work, close to the genre of fantasy, and, at the same time, a work built in the tradition of a historic novel which rouses contemplation about the vital power of culture in a situation when at least a single its representative has survived. The people created by the writer lives in the forest; it is an ancient and wonderful civilisation. They milk wolves, they are friends with bears, they know the language of animals, snake words (witchcraft), they have an innate poison tooth, like snakes, and therefore in wars against immigrants they always win a victory. Their women wash themselves up high in the trees, in a lunar bathroom, but their admirers – the tardy, kind-hearted bears observe stealthily the naked beauty, becoming sometimes outstanding lovers. Only, when one knows the language of animals, the snake words, it is possible to benumb the mind of an animal to make it sacrifice itself voluntarily. That is why the people are always well-fed and dressed in animal furs. Their sanctuary is an old old birch wood where each of its trees is saint and untouched. And so it has been for thousands of years that their sacral world, which, reduced to modern comprehensible concepts and called by us a religious world, full of sanctity, has been a warrant of harmony, a maintainer of everyday order, public laws and human conduct/morality. The Northern Toad, who once created everything and protected the people created by him, is asleep. He will not wake up and will not save the ancient people, the land of his forefathers, will not return the ancient good life. Because – if there are no people, no nation, no wish, there is also no sense for the last remaining man to rouse immense, uncontrolled force. However, as Nietzsche acknowledged, the God of the church, the Christian religion, is dead. So is the God of the forest people’s religion. In reality the Northern Toad, call it God, is asleep.     A short description of the relationship between Physics, Philosophy and Theology is: Physics neglects or passes by Natural Realism, which is the origin of Philosophy. In turn, Natural Realism is backed up by Judeo-Christian revelation. Therefore, Physics neglects or passes by Theology. That relationship between Physics and Theology is widely used as a background for exercising an intense pressure on Theology. The defence of Theology should begin by pointing out certain shortcomings of Physics and formulating a philosophical control of these shortcomings. This is tantamount to turning Physics instead of Theology into a “site under construction”. Only a “controlled” Physics and Theology are adequate discussion partners. The author of this article is a Catholic. However, the ideas expressed are, by and large, acceptable for Orthodox and Lutheran Christians as well, with possible differences only regarding natural theology

    Breaking Out of One's Head (& Awakening to the World)

    Herein, I review the shattering moment in my life when I awoke from the dream of self to find being as part of the living world and not in my head, discovering my perspectival center to be literally everywhere. Since awakening to the world takes one beyond thought and language thus also beyond the symbolic construction of time, it is strange to place this event and its aftermath as happening long ago in my life. It is forever present. This fact puts into question the reality of my daily journey from dawn to dusk with all the mundane tasks I must complete. My linear march into aging and death inexorably continues, yet it seems somehow unreal, worth a smile as the inevitable changes ensue. Still, I write of the events leading up to my time out of mind and then review the serious repercussions that followed when I was drawn back into ego only to find I did not have the conceptual tools or the maturity to understand what had occurred. I close by looking back with theories that might explain what happened. I am now ready to allow the memory to sink into peaceful oblivion and reference it from within my mind no more. Ironically, the memory itself with its façade of knowledge may prevent me from a new, unexpected mystical experience. Only by forgetting can I hope to leave a crack in the verbal armament of self, so the world soul may break through and free me once again

    Some astrophysical and cosmological findings from TGD point of view

    There are five rather recent findings not easy to understand in the framework of standard astrophysics and cosmology. The first finding is that the model for the absorption of dark matter by blackholes predicts must faster rate than would be consistent with observations. Second finding is that Milky Way has large void extending from 150 ly up to 8,000 light years. Third finding is the existence of galaxy estimated to have mass of order MilkyWay mass but for which 98 per cent of mass within half-light radius is estimated to be dark in halo model. The fourth finding conrms the old nding that the value of Hubble constant is 9 per cent larger in short scales (of order of the size large voids) than in cosmological scales. The fifth finding is that astrophysical object do not co-expand but only co-move in cosmic expansion. TGD suggests an explanation for the two first observation in terms of dark matter with gravitational Planck constant hgr, which is very large so that dark matter is at some level quantum coherent even in galactic scales. Second and third findings can be explained using TGD based model of dark matter and energy assigning them to long cosmic strings having galaxies along them like pearls in necklace. Fourth finding can be understood in terms of many-sheeted space-time. The space-time sheets assignable to large void and entire cosmology have dierent Hubble constants and expansion rate. Fifth finding follows as a prediction of TGD: space-time sheets do not expand smoothly but in jerks in phase transition like manner
