Künste des Dazwischen: Graphische Literatur und visuelle Poesie der Romania als Genres ‘en marge‘ : Einleitung
Get PDFGraphische Literatur und visuelle Poesie können in mindestens zweifacher Hinsicht als Künste des Dazwischen verstanden werden: Zum einen kombinieren sie Bild und Text als ästhetische und semantische Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten, zum anderen reflektieren sie diese Zwischenstellung in intermedialen Verweisen und einer Affinität zu Themen zwischenräumlicher, marginal(isiert)er Erfahrung. Im mehrdimensionalen Verhältnis von Schriftzeichen und Abbildung, von semantischer Festlegung und Öffnung, in der Überschreitung von Grenzziehungen und der Verortung zwischen unterschiedlichen semiotischen Systemen liegt ihre zugleich gattungsbildende und gattungsbrechende Spezifik. Das Dossier versammelt unterschiedliche medienkomparatistische Forschungsperspektiven zu Ausdrucksmodi von Bild-Text-Welten in der Romania, um Merkmale und Potenziale des Dazwischen ins Zentrum zu rücken und diese zu konzeptualisieren.Graphic literature and visual poetry can be understood as arts of the in-between in at least two ways: on the one hand, they combine image and text as aesthetic and semantic means of expression; on the other, they reflect this in-between position via intermedial references and an affinity for themes of interspatial, marginal(ized) experience. Their genre-forming and genre-breaking specificities can be found in their engagements with multidimensional character/image relationships, with semantic determination and opening, with boundary transgressions, and with shifts between different semiotic systems. This dossier brings together media-comparative perspectives on different expressions of image-text relations as a way to identify and conceptualize characteristics and potentials of the in-between
Play Types, Design Principles and Participation in Play: How Is it Possible to Design for Participation in Play?
Get PDFMany school-age children have difficulties participating in play and need support to find playmates, take the initiative and structure play. If children do not master these competencies, they risk ending up in a spiral in which they are not given the opportunity to practice playing and develop play competencies. The purpose of the present study is to investigate how design principles in three different play types can be formulated in order to support pedagogues (educators) in developing new play activities with significant potential for participation. In addition, how these design principles cover more general and generic principles are scrutinized.
This paper is based on a three-year design-based research study in two Danish schools investigating three play types: creative play, role play and movement play. It also presents four design principles on each play type which were found to support the development of new play activities with inclusive potential. As a theoretical contribution, the design principles of each play type are meta-analysed with the goal of helping pedagogues generate play activities with different participation possibilities. La trajectoire d’Émile Guillaumin: Retourner le stigmate en emblème : une stratégie audacieuse mais inefficace
Get PDFÉmile Guillaumin (1873-1951) is, in France, the best known and most quoted of peasant writers. His trajectory is indeed exceptional. Having remained a peasant all his life, he tried to penetrate a literary field that was particularly closed to the working classes. For this, he implements a strategy of brandishing his social stigma, a strategy that pays off temporarily, since he manages to publish several collections of poems and novels. But this strategy quickly encounters limits. And after the Great War, he was forced to reorient himself towards a journalistic activity. He then became a kind of columnist specializing in the countryside of the 1930s.
Émile Guillaumin (1873-1951) est, en France, le plus connu et le plus cité des écrivains paysans. Sa trajectoire est bel et bien exceptionnelle. Demeuré paysan sa vie durant, il tente de pénétrer un champ littéraire particulièrement fermé aux classes populaires. Pour cela, il met en œuvre une stratégie de brandissement de son stigmate social, stratégie temporairement payante, puisqu’il parvient à publier plusieurs recueils de poèmes et des romans. Mais cette stratégie rencontre vite des limites. Et après la Grande Guerre, il est contraint de se réorienter vers une activité journalistique. Il devient alors une sorte de chroniqueur spécialiste des campagnes, dans les années 1930

Entre « Locarno » et « splendid isolation » : Des relations franco-allemandes singulières : le rugby dans l’entre-deux-guerres (1927-1938)
Get PDFRugby hat in Deutschland und Frankreich einen ganz unterschiedlichen gesellschaftlichen Stellenwert. Während in Frankreich die Rugby-Sport-Arenen gut gefüllt sind und die höchste französische Spielklasse Top 14 international zu den Top-Ligen zählt, zieht der Rugby-Sport in Deutschland bis heute keine Massen an. Rugby ist dort eine Randsportart. Trotz der sehr unterschiedlichen Entwicklungen blicken beide Länder auf eine gemeinsame Rugby-Geschichte zurück: Zwischen 1927 und 1938 kam es zu einem intensiven Spielverkehr zwischen beiden Ländern. Darunter fallen auch 16 Länderspielvergleiche, die heute, aufgrund der geringen internationalen Bedeutung des deutschen Rugbysports, weitgehend in Vergessenheit geraten sind bzw. in der Forschung kaum Berücksichtigung finden. Diese deutsch-französischen Rugby-Beziehungen sind das Ergebnis einer besonderen sport-politischen Konstellation in der Zwischenkriegszeit. Gefördert durch den „Geist von Locarno“ wurde der Spielverkehr 1926 aufgenommen. Die jeweiligen Interessenlagen von Verbänden und Politik führten letztlich dazu, dass die Beziehungen in den 1930er Jahren weiter intensiviert wurden. Es entstand ein Zweckbündnis, aus dem 1934 der internationale Rugby-Verband FIRAhervorgehen sollte.In Germany and France Rugby has a very different social status. Whereas in France stadiums are well-filled and the Top 14 is among the best world championships, rugby in Germany has until today not attracted great crowds of supporters. For this opposing development of rugby in both countries, France and Germany share a common rugby history: between 1927 and 1938 rugby sport relations were intense with up to 16 matches between the two national selections, encounters which today are lost and forgotten in time and only rarely reconsidered by researchers, mostly due to the minor significance of German rugby on an international scale. However, those sports exchanges are the result of an important sport-political constellation during the interwar period, a sport relationship ignited by the “spirit of Locarno” in 1926. Being aware of federal and political interests on both sides, relations were being intensified during the 1930s and eventually lead to the foundation of the International Federation of Rugby Amateurs (FIRA) in 1934.Le rugby ne joue pas le même rôle dans les sociétés allemande et française. Alors que les stades sont très fréquentés en France et que le Top 14 fait partie des meilleurs championnats au monde, le rugby en Allemagne reste un sport marginal qui ne suscite pas l’intérêt du grand public. Malgré une évolution tout à fait opposée, l’Allemagne et la France partagent une histoire commune en matière de rugby : entre 1927 et 1938, les relations rugbystiques étaient intenses. On compte durant cette période 16 matchs internationaux entre les deux sélections, des rencontres qui sont aujourd’hui très majoritairement sombré dans l’oubli en raison de l’importance, moindre, accordée au rugby allemand au niveau international. De même, ces échanges ont rencontré peu d’écho au sein de la recherche académique. Ils sont pourtant le résultat d’une configuration politique et sportive particulière de l’entre-deux-guerres. Encouragées par ‘l’esprit de Locarno’, les relations entre les deux fédérations reprirent en 1926. Les intérêts des fédérations respectives ainsi que les enjeux politiques conduisirent à une intensification de ces relations dans les années 1930. The Confession of King Gälawdewos (r. 1540–1559): A Sixteenth-Century Ethiopian Monophysite Document against Jesuit Proselytism
No full textThe Jesuit mission in Ethiopia represented one of the most serious challenges of Ethiopian Christianity during the early modern times. The mission had two phases. In the first phase, from 1555 to 1603, the missionaries undertook to convert King Gälawdewos and his court in return for military support from Portugal but had to face opposition from his successor, Minas (r.1559–1563). The second period ran from 1603 to 1632 and marked the major success of the mission. The missionaries managed to convert King Susənyos (r.1607–1632) as well as important nobles and dignitaries. In the first phase of the mission, even though the Christian kingdom had been heavily weakened by the wars with Imām Aḥmad b. Ibrāhīm al-Ġazī, called ‘Grañ’ by Christians, the political and religious leaders resolutely opposed Jesuit proselytism. Their opposition took the form of theological debates, wherein local religious leaders, including the ruler, confronted the foreigners and their alien dogmas. In this paper, I will analyse a contemporary Ethiopian religious text popularly known as the Confession of King Gälawdewos. The piece was composed in 1555 under the order of Gälawdewos to face the Jesuit challenge. The paper will show that this important literary work was instrumental in defending the indigenous Orthodox religion and local customs

Far-right ideology has transcended national boundaries and now holds a global presence. This perspective served as the focal point for the workshop, providing a basis to examine the movement on a global scale. Get PDFIm Zentrum des Beitrags steht die exemplarische Analyse eines französischen Comics über Dichtung. Der Titel des Albums Alexandrin ou L’art de faire des vers à pied (2017) von Pascal Rabaté und Alain Kokor deutet bereits auf den poetischen Gehalt des Werks hin. Der Comic erzählt vom Leben des Amateurdichters Alexandrin, der in mehrfacher Hinsicht aus der Zeit gefallen zu sein scheint. Entsprechend des Stereotyps des ,armen Poeten‘ geht dieser mit seinen Versen hausieren, um sich über Wasser zu halten. Sein sprechender Name verweist auf das vollkommen aus der Mode gekommene Dichten in Zwölfsilbern. Mittels der graphischen Anthropomorphisierung nimmt das autoreferentielle Wortspiel des Titels selbst Gestalt an und initiiert eine spielerische Reflexion über die gegenwärtige Bedeutung von Dichtung, wobei der unersetzliche Mehrwert der Poesie seinerseits dadurch poetisch zum Ausdruck gebracht wird, dass rhetorische Stilmittel in einem unterhaltsamen Wechselspiel mal sprachlich, mal graphisch umgesetzt werden.This article focuses on an exemplary analysis of a French comic about poetry. The title of the album Alexandrin ou L’art de faire des vers à pied (2017) by Pascal Rabaté and Alain Kokor already hints at the poetic content of the work. The comic tells of the life of the amateur poet Alexandrin, who seems to have fallen out of time in several respects. In keeping with the stereotype of the ‘poor poet’, he peddles his verses to keep his head above water. His telling name refers to writing poetry in twelve syllables, which has gone completely out of fashion. By means of graphic anthropomorphising, the autoreferential pun of the title itself takes shape and initiates a playful reflexion on the contemporary meaning of poetry, whereby the irreplaceable value of poetry is in turn poetically expressed by using rhetorical stylistic devices in an entertaining interplay, sometimes linguistically, sometimes graphically
