    COLLABORATIVE SHARING-TASKS LEARNING FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

    This study aimed to describe the implementation of collaborative sharing-tasks learning on the ‘Occupations’ topic at Santo Yoseph Preschool Group B1 in Ternate. The students involved in this study were those registered in the 2018/2019 academic year. Data collection was performed using observation and documentation. In data analysis, Miles and Huberman interaction model was employed to describe the data qualitatively. The results of the study revealed that the implementation of collaborative sharing-tasks learning on “Occupations” implemented at Santo Yoseph Preschool Group B1 in Ternate was effective. Six groups of students were able to complete the tasks given by 76.92% through collaborative sharing-task learning. Therefore, it can be said that collaborative sharing-task learning can improve preschool students’ ability in understanding materials on ‘Occupations’. 

    HOTS EVALUATION INSTRUMENTS IN INDONESIAN LANGUAGE TEXTBOOKS

    This article reports on the results of a R &D study on standard evaluation instruments used to measure students’ higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in Indonesian Language textbooks for the tenth-grade students registered in the academic year of 2019/2020. A qualitative approach to data collection and data analysis was employed. The identification of the research object was carried out by coding various data about the diversity of standard evaluation instruments of HOTS by examining the operational words used and the form of competency measured. The data were analyzed with regard to the level of tendency towards the measurement of certain aspects of thinking. Based on the findings of the research, it can be seen that HOTS contained in Indonesian textbooks class X are already diverse; however, the percentage of diversity is not yet proportional. The aspects include creative thinking (28.3%), critical thinking (37.2%), problem solving (18.6%), and decision making (15.9%) of all evaluation instruments analyzed. A less proportional percentage of each of these aspects shows that the utilization of HOTS standard evaluation instrument development criteria has not been maximally pursued

    HOTS-ORIENTED INDONESIAN LANGUAGE LEARNING IN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN JAMBI

    The purpose of this research was to describe the competence of the high school teachers in Jambi in designing, implementing, and evaluating HOTS-oriented Indonesian Language learning. To answer this question, the concept of Indonesian Language learning was employed. This study used a qualitative design with case study technique. The data were comprised of the responses, learning process, and action conducted by the teachers. The respondents were selected using purposive sampling method by considering teacher’s academic qualifications. Data collection was performed through interview accompanied by focused group discussion (FGD), observation and document-ation. The results of this study showed that the Indonesian Language teachers had designed, implemented and evaluated students’ performance in HOTS-oriented Indonesian Language learning. Unfortunately, the teachers were less capable of synergizing the HOTS-oriented learning with pedagogical approaches, such as genre-based (text learning), scientificlearning and CLIL

    COGNITIVE SEMANTICS ANALYSIS OF ANIMAL PROVERBS IN TOBA LANGUAGE

    This cognitive semantics study analyzed animal proverbs in Batak Toba language. Descriptive qualitative methods were employed in this study. Preliminary research data were collected from the Umpama and Umapasa Collection of Batak Toba languages written by Richard Sinaga. All proverbs were listened to and grouped by recording and selecting the existing data. In the analysis process, theresearchers conducted interpretation method. In addition, the researcher conducted interviews with three Toba native speakers including the researcher himself, and a Batak-Toba linguist. The results showed that there was 33 lexicon used in Toba Batak proverbs. The animal lexicon consists of mammals (46%), birds (27%), insects (14%), fish (10%), and amphibians (1%). The conceptualization of the animals is both positive and negative. The use of animal in the Toba Batak proverbs not only aims to convey ideas or ideas but can also describe the perceptions, experiences and daily life depictions of the Toba Batak people.         

    JAVANESE LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH CAMPURSARI: FERGUSON’S LANGUAGE PLANNING PERSPECTIVE

    This study attempted to describe the forms of Javanese language development through campursari songs based on Ferguson’s language planning theory. This study used a descriptive qualitative design where the data were collected with the documentation method, that was to collect words, phrases, clauses, and sentences from campursari song lyrics containing elements of development. Data analysis was performed using sharing method with substitution techniques. The results of the analysis showed that the Javanese language development was divided into two forms. The first form was graphization through the establishment of pronunciation and spelling by intensifying Latin words to write either vocal or consonant Javanese words in texts. The second form was modernization through lexicon extension where the Javanese language underwent a shift in the use of old terms and language extensification that was marked by the emergence of novel words or terms. The Javanese language development forms were affected by some factors, including the development of the Javanese society social life as well as the Indonesian language intervention and integration. This has become part of shared agreement to maintain the Javanese language existence both in the present and for the future.

    This study aimed to identify the nationalism values in “Tanah Surga...Katanya” film. It is a qualitative descriptive study based on audiovisual of film. The results indicate that, in the border, the value of Indonesian nationalism is faded, such as lack of recognition of the Indonesia Rupiah, low appreciation on the national anthem, and looking down on the potential of the region. That condition is due to the government’s lack of attention to education, health, transportation, communication, and economic facilities. But, on the other hand, the spirit of nationalism and nationality emerged, as well as sacrifice to defend the country

    PHONOLOGICAL VARIATION OF TALIABU LANGUAGE DIALECTS

    This research aimed to describe the phonological variation of Taliabu language dialects. This research used a qualitative descriptive method. The technique of data collection was obtained by taking notes, records, and interviews. Data obtained was analyzed by the stages of reduction, presentation, conclusion, and verification data. The result of the research showed that Taliabu language had three dialects, namely Kadai, Siboyo, and Mange. Phonological variations of Taliabu language occurred in the three dialects comprise of vowel variations, namely /e/, /a/, and /o/. Beside the vowel variation, there is also variation of consonants such as /g/, /y/, /h/, /t/, /d/, / m/, /ŋ/, /b/, /p/, /k/, dan /r/ phonemes. Among the three dialects, one of them has high innovation namely Mange dialect, meanwhile, dialects have high phonological differences between Kadai and Mange dialects

    The purpose of this study was to analyze the morphology of folklore based on Vladimir Propp's theory and method of researching Narratology structure including the structure of the actor's action function, the function in the action environment, and the scheme. This research method is descriptive qualitative and the method developed by Vladimir Propp. The object of research is the Batu Naga Lampung folklore. The technique of data collection is done by the documentation technique through a literature study. Data analysis techniques use the flow method that is data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results of the study found there are 26 functions of the perpetrators' actions that are distributed into 6 action environments

    This study aims to explore the language politeness in an academic situated interaction between student-students and lecturer(s)-students the polytechnic campus environment  mediated by the Javanese cultural background, accurately to describe the reprimand speech acts used as a typical politeness expression; to explain the context following the use of speech acts as a form of politeness in classroom interaction between students and lecturers in academic activities. This study was conducted in Polytechnic Indonusa of Surakarta, Indonesia.The results show that the language used by the lecture and students in communicating are considered polite where the amount of politeness maxims application is much higher when compared to the violation of the maxims.     MARKET NAMES IN MEDAN: A NATURAL SEMANTIC METALANGUAGE STUDY

    This article aims to investigate market names in Medan. This study used natural semantic metalanguage theory. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. In data collection, interviews and observations were conducted. The results showed that Medan people named their markets based on the markets’ location, time and environmental conditions. Market names in Medan contain denotative or connotative meaning. The difference in the market name’s meaning reflects thoughts underlying the word. The paraphrase of the market name’s meaning can provide an understanding of the use of market names in Medan
