Trade, investment and economic growth in India and China
Using time series data from 1980 to 2014, this study examines the relationship between trade, investment and economic growth in India and China. The present study attempts to assess the contributions of not only foreign direct investment and exports as done by the previous studies but also incorporates domestic direct investment and imports. The study uses more comprehensive and recent autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) bound testing approach to examine the existence of short-run and long-run relationships. The main advantage of this approach is that it can be used regardless of the stationarity properties of the variables in the sample. The study gives different results for both countries. In case of China, exports, FDI and domestic investment have positive impact on economic growth whereas for India only the variable of domestic investment has been found to be significant. China is a world leader in merchandise exports and its services exports have complemented its goods exports. The main weakness of Indian economy is the poor performance of manufacturing sector as a result of which India’s merchandise exports are concentrated around a few categories. Though India is a leader in IT related services exports but these exports are unable to compensate for poor performance of merchandise exports
The feminization of the cooperative bank’s board as a factor differentiating its financial performance
The research was aimed at showing the relationship between the gender of the CEO and the efficiency of the Polish cooperative banks. The research covered 354 banks operating in Poland in 2013-2015. Based on the conducted research, it has been shown that, for the surveyed Polish cooperative banks, women served as CEOs in significantly smaller banks than men, as the number of clients, the number of members, the total value of assets and the value of equity in male-dominated banks was on average more than double. In banks managed by women. At the same time, the results of the research clearly showed that the gender of the person acting as the chairman of the management board in a cooperative bank had an impact on the level of its financial effectiveness

During elaboration of the contribution we resulted first of all from the content law of waste and local taxes and fee for communal waste. Results show presently increasing of environmental awareness of public, resulting in decreasing production of mixed communal waste and increasing separated waste. Such situation could contribute to the support of circular system of economy in the countr
Towards sustainable consumption in Albania
In recent years, there has been an increasing awareness towards economic, environmental, and social problems of the actual development system. However, sustainable development remains one of the main challenges of actual times. Sustainable consumption plays a significant role in achieving sustainable development goals. Moving towards more sustainable patterns of consumption will reduce environmental damage, adjust social inequalities, and increase economic efficiency. Therefore, it is substantial to investigate the determinants of sustainable consumption behaviour. The aim of this paper is to identify whether the Albanian consumers adopt sustainable consumption behaviour. An empirical analysis is used to identify the main factors that influence sustainable consumption of Albanian consumers. The results have revealed that sustainable consumption in Albania is a niche segment. The main determinants of sustainable consumption behaviour in Albania are: internal factors such as personality characteristic’s, Perceived Consumer Effectiveness, knowledge, and attitudes towards sustainable consumption, and external factors
Analysis of fiscal decentralization impact on community welfare in Jambi Province
The fiscal decentralization policy has made local governments have the authority to generate income and manage regional finance independently for public services and public welfare. This study aims to: 1) Analyze the degree of fiscal decentralization in Jambi Province; 2) Analyzing community welfare proxied from the human development index in Jambi Province; 3) Analyzing the impact of fiscal decentralization on the welfare of the community in Jambi Province. This study using panel data, a combination of time series data in 2010-2016 and cross section 11 districts/cities in Jambi Province. The method of data analysis is descriptive analysis and panel data regression analysis approach, namely the fixed effect model (FEM). Hypothesis testing uses the F test statistic and the statistical t test. The results showed that: 1) The degree of fiscal decentralization, namely the ratio of district own source revenue (PAD) to total regional income (TPD) in each district/city in Jambi Province was relatively relatively low, whereas for Jambi Province it was in good category; 2) Community welfare as illustrated by the human development index in each district/city including Jambi Province is still in the moderate category, except Jambi City (76.14) and Sungai Penuh City (73.35) are categorized as high; 3) Fiscal decentralization has a positive and significant impact on improving community welfare. it means that the better the implementation of fiscal decentralization, the higher the level of community welfare
Regional financial performance evaluation in the Indonesian fiscal decentralization era
Under the decentralization policy, regions have the rights and obligations in arranging of themselves. Then many studies showed positive and negative impacts of fiscal decentralization in Indonesia. Regarding on this issue, this study was conducted in analyzing financial performance under fiscal decentralization. The analytical method used is the ratio indicator degree of fiscal decentralization, financial regional self-sufficiency indicator ratios and harmony indicator ratios of regional budget. From the degree of fiscal decentralization, in Indonesia from 2008 to 2014 has not yet been able to realize the aspects of the region's autonomy. Judging from the distribution per region, most of the regions in Indonesia are in a class of regions with less degree of fiscal decentralization. Meanwhile, indicators of local financial independence in Indonesia from 2008 to 2014 saw a significant increase. From the indicators of harmony expenses are still very dominant from the routine expenditure almost 70% -80% annually. From this result, mandatory for the local government to continue their improvement of the region's autonomy, especially in terms of funding through a mechanism that does not burden the private and public sectors
Factors that influence the increase of Eucheuma cottonii Seaweed farmers’ income in Bantaeng, South Sulawesi
Seaweed is one of the marine production that authentically potential to be increased its production in quantity and quality. In economic side, it is not only for country’s foreign exchange earnings but also for a source of income to the seaweed farmers. The aims of research were to elaborate the influencing use of seed, number of labor, and farming experience on seaweed production in Bantaeng Regency and to analyze the influencing production to the farmers’ income. The research was conducted in Bantaeng Regency and the data were obtained through observation and structured interview. The samples were selected purposively consisting of 94 seaweed farmers using cobb-douglas and simple linear regression analysis. The results of the research indicated that; (a) regression coefficient variable in use of seed had influence to the increased of seaweed production but regression coefficient variable number of labor didn’t have to influence to increased seaweed production. For regression coefficient variable of farming experience also had influence to the increased seaweed production.Cobb-Douglas analysis indicated that production function in factors use of seed, number of labor and farming experience had significantly affected to the seaweed production. In simple linear regression analysis, regression coefficient of seaweed production variable explained if seaweed production increases, farmers’ income would be increase too. Keywords : Seaweed, Cobb-Douglas, Production, Farmers’ Income
Does stock market development promote economic growth? A bounds testing analysis for Bangladesh
The aim of this paper is to investigate the linkage between stock market development and real economic growth in Bangladesh using time series data from 1981 to 2017 employing Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) bounds testing cointegration procedure and Error Correction Model (ECM). The bounds testing cointegration procedures reveal that stock market size has a significant long run impact on real economic growth in Bangladesh at 5% significance level. The results of the estimated ARDL-ECM models show that a highly significant long-run causality is directing from stock market development to real economic growth. The negative and significant error correction term implies that 81% of the last year’s disequilibrium is corrected this year by changes in real economic growth. Finally, we find that there is no causality running between real economic growth and stock market development in the short run. Stock market performance prompts real economic growth in the long run though the contribution of the stock market in Bangladesh related to money market is still in a transition period. Moreover, bank dominating financial system of Bangladesh is nearly seeming close to the catastrophe bring about by massive nonperforming loans and series of banking scams. Thus, policymakers of Bangladesh should give a boost to the stock market as a complimentary financial system with the banking sector such that economic growth will be contributed better than the results of this study demonstrate

Effort to increase rubber farmers’ income when rubber low prices
Rubber is a plantation crop that has high economic value and the largest foreign exchange producer 10. Rubber producers in Indonesia consist of the islands of Sumatra and Kalimantan. Indonesia is one of the largest rubber producers after Thailand with the number of people involved in rubber farming reaching 2.2 million households. The recent decline in rubber prices has affected the decline in rubber farmers' income. So a strategy is needed to increase the income of rubber farmers. This paper provides an overview of the strategies that rubber farmers need to increase their income. The strategy that was carried out was an increase in the adoption of superior clones at the farmer level, optimization of rubber plantations by modifying the distance of rubber plants to be wider so that they could be used to plant intercrops during the rubber crop cycle and farmers using rubber marketing through UPPB (row rubber material processing and marketing unit)because it could increase the share price received by farmers so farmers get high prices
