Karakteristik Pendaratan Penyu Hijau (Chelonia mydas, Linnaeus 1758) di Pesisir Pantai Tanjung Kemuning Tanjung Api Dan Pantai Belacan Kecamatan Paloh Kabupaten Sambas
The frequency of green turtle (Chelonia mydas) landing is largely determined by the environmental conditions and human activities in a coastal area. This research aims to determine the frequency of landings, the number ofC. mydas at every landing time and the landing periods ofthehighest frequency ofC. mydas occurring in Tanjung Kemuning beach, Tanjung Api beach, and Belacan beach. The research was conducted by using direct observation in the field. The surveyrevealed that the frequency of C. mydas in beach landings in Belacan beach, Tanjung Kemuning beach, and Tanjung Api beach during the period from July to September 2013, is between 35.88% and 100 %. The numbers ofC. mydaslanded inBelacan beach, Tanjung Kemuning beach, and Tanjung Api beach are 20 - 28 individuals, 144-235 individuals and 107-183 individuals res pectively. Landing highest reached at 19:00 pm - 22:00 pm and 23:00 pm - 2:00 am. The environmental conditions in Tanjung Kemuning beach, Tanjung Api beach, and Belacan beach is able to support the landing activities of C. mydas
Tingkat Keberhasilan Penetasan Telur Penyu Hijau (Chelonia Mydas, Linnaeus 1758) di Pantai Sebubus, Kabupaten Sambas
A succeed hatchery of green turtles eggs is determined by the condition of the environment and the position of the nests. The purposes of this research are to find out the succeed hatchery level of green turtle and the environmental condition of the nest in Sebubus coastal area. The sample of the nest was randomly selected and taken based on the existing nest proportion. There were three parameters, namely hatchability, physical characters of the coast and environmental conditions surrounding the nest. There were 24 nests in Sungai Belacan coast, 21 in Munggu Resak and three nests in Tanjung Kemuning. The number of eggs range between 85 102 eggs per nest. The percentage of green turtles hatchery in Sebubus coast were varied from 87.69% - 93.13%. 75% of the nests were found under pandanus tree. The shaded nests showed a higher hatchery percentage of 86.64% - 95.6%. The slope of Sebubus coast was ranged from 40 4.820. Temperature of nest incubation was varied from 28.180C to 28.370C. Green turtles dominantly made their nest in sandy substrate. The pH level of the observed nests was categorized as not too acidic ranging from 5.74 to 6.16. The overall environmental condition in Sebubus coastal area supports the hatchery of green turtles eggs
Ekstrak Metanol Buah Sonneratia alba J.E.Sm sebagai Penghambat Pertumbuhan Helminthosporium sp. yang diisolasi dari Daun Jagung
Control of corn leaf blight caused by the fungus Helminthosporium sp., can be carried out by employing natural antifungal of plant extract. One of the plants that have the potential as an antifungal is Sonneratia alba J.E.Sm. The aim of this study is to determine the ability of S. alba fruit as antifungal and to determine the concentration of S. alba fruit extract, that can inhibit the growth of fungus Helminthosporium sp., at the level of very strong activities. Testing of antifungal activity of the fruit extract of S. alba carried out by employing 7 treatments, which the treatments are negative control, solvent control (DMSO 10%), positive control (Dithane M45 10%), concentration of fruit extracts S.alba (25 %, 50%, 75% and 100%). Based on phytochemical test indicates that fruit S. alba contains class of flavonoid compunds, alkaloids and tannins. The results of antifungal testing at level 100% concentration indicate very strong antifungal activity (90.01%). Those conditions indicate that 100% constitutes concentration of S. alba fruit extract, that can inhibit the growth of Helminthosporium sp. fungus at the level of very strong activities
Pengendalian Rayap Tanah Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren Menggunakan Ekstrak Daun Gulma Sembung Rambat (Mikania micrantha Kunth)
Mile-a-minute weeds (Mikania micrantha Kunth) contain secondary metabolite compounds such as tannins, alkaloids, saponins, steroids and terpenoids that can be used as insecticides. Those compounds can be used to regulate subterranean termites Coptotermes curvignathus Holmgren. This study aims to find Lethal Concentration (LC)50 extract of M. micrantha on C. curvignathus and extract concentration of M. micrantha which caused least weight loss percentage of paper disc. The research was conducted in 3 months at the laboratory of Biotechnology in Faculty of Mathematics and Science of Tanjungpura University and laboratory of Forest Product Technology in Faculty of Forestry of Tanjungpura University. Extract of M. micrantha was obtained through maseration method using methanol. The no-choice bioassay test was carried-out by treating paper discs with extracts at the concentration of 6%, 8%, 10% w/v (g/ml), DMSO 10% as control solvent and termiticide (has active compounds fipronil 50 g/l) was made at the concentration of 5% v/v (ml/ml) as positive control. LC50 determined by probit analysis. The bioassay test showed that LC50 extract of M. micrantha has an effect to C. curvignathus in 8,07%, and caused least weight loss percentage of paper disc (27,26%) in 10%
Struktur Komunitas Gastropoda Pada Persawahan Pasang Surut Dan Tadah Hujan di Kecamatan Sungai Kakap
Rice farming ecosystems is indispensably important to organism life circle. Gastropoda, taxonomy class within the phylum Mollusca, are mostly found in rice farming. Rice farming environment in sub-district of Sungai Kakap which is defined by irrigation schemes may influence Gastropoda. This study was conducted from March to April 2011. It aims to investigate both the community structure and the habitat of Gastropoda in the rice fields in sub-district of Sungai Kakap. Sample were taken by using Cluster Random Sampling. We found 9 species of Gastropoda namely Pomacea canaliculata, Pila scutata, Brotia spedicea, Lymnaea rubiginosa, Belamnya javanica, Gyraulus convexiusculus, Cerithidae quadrata and Neritina pulligera. Pomacea canaliculata was Gastropoda with the highes density in rice field (0.151 ind/m2) and irrigation canals (11.87 ind/m2). The highest diversity index of Gastropoda in irrigation canals intertidal zone Sungai Itik (H:1.42). Dominance index was highest in irrigation canals rainfed Sungai Itik (1.00) and irrigation canals rainfed Sungai Rengas (1.00). The highest evennes index found in irrigation canals intertidal zone Sungai Rengas (0.99)
Pemanfaatan Tumbuhan pada Upacara Adat Tumpang Negeri Suku Melayu di Keraton Ismahayana Landak
Traditional Ceremony Tumpang Negeri is a tribal ritual of Malayan people that utilizes plants to prevent misfortune so that people of Landak Regency might be averted from menaces and that Landak egency might be a prosfer, safe, and peacefull land. The aim of this research was to investigate the plant spesies and their utilization in Tumpang Negeri. This research was conducted from January to March 2014. The method of respondence selection that used in this research was snowball. The result of this research shows that there are 23 plant species which belong to 12 families, have been used in Tumpang Negeri Ceremony. Most of the plants used belong 3 families which are Poaceae (5 species), Arecaceae (4 species), and Zingiberaceae (4 species). The plants are used as materials for making traditional snacks, rafts, and tumpang for offerings. Part of the plants that mostly used are the fruits (45 %), leaves (32 %), roots (18 %), and stems (5 %). The plants were harvested mostly from the forest (35 %), the botanical gardens (31 %), the home garden (30 %), and the fields. Every plant species used in Traditional ceremony tumpang Negeri has specifik meanings
Aktivitas Antifungi Ekstrak Metanol Daun Buas-Buas (Premna serratifolia) Terhadap Jamur Diplodia sp. Pada Jeruk Siam (Citrus nobilis var. microcarpa)
The infection of Diplodia sp. Fungi on tangerine (Citrus nobilis) causes the surface of main trunk or branches to dry up. Generally, the effort of controlling disease on plants is done by the use of synthethic pesticidies that have negative impact, so that it should be mitigated and the use of botanical pesticides should be promoted. The aim of this study was to determine the antifungal activity of methanol extract of P. serratifolia leaves toward the growth of Diplodia sp. fungi. The completely randomized design (CRD) was used on this study with 6 treatments which were control, DMSO, the extract concentrations of 25%,50%, 75%, and 100%. The result showed that the methanol extract of Premna leaves significantly affecting the growth of Diplodia sp. fungi. The concentration of 100% was the one to produce the highest inhibition percentage on Diplodia sp. fungi growth, which reached 93,31% with very strong activity

The alternative filter media that used to process the leachate water is charcoal and sand. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using coconut shell charcoal, durian rind charcoal and sand in improving the quality of leachate in terms of the Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Total Disolve Solid (TDS), pH, Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) parameters and the number of bactery colonies. This research was conducted for three months from December 2013 to February 2014. The research was designed by using the Randomized Block Design (RBD) with each coconut shell charcoal and sand has 10 cm thickness (treatment K), each durian rind charcoal and sand has 10 cm thickness (treatment D), each coconut shell charcoal, durian rind charcoal, and sand has 10 cm thickness (treatment KD), and sand has 10 cm thickness (control). The value of TSS, TDS, pH, COD and the number of bactery colonies before treatment were 430 mg/L, 1142 mg/L, 5.73, 92.27 mg/L and 407.7 x 105 CFU/ml. The most effective treatment was each coconut shell charcoal, durian rind charcoal and sand has 10 cm thickness which can reduce TSS 46.91%, TDS 47.00%, COD 47.03%, and the number of bacteria colonies 40.96% and increased the pH 7.33
Daya Simpan Dan Kualitas Telur Ayam Ras Dilapisi Minyak Kelapa, Kapur Sirih Dan Ekstrak Etanol Kelopak Rosella
Chicken egg is one of cattles products which is easily damaged if it is stored more than 14 days. This research aimed to determine the ability of coconut oil, the solution of slaked lime and ethanol extract of Hibiscus sabdariffa as well as the optimal combination of these materials in maintaining the quality of eggs during storage. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with seven treatments and three replications. There were 27 eggs used in this study which were stored for 30 days. Each treatment had no effect on egg shell color, except the color of the egg shell coated with solution of slaked lime. Treatment that provided optimal result was the combination of coconut oil, solution of slaked lime and ethanol extract of Hibiscus sabdariffa (K7) with the decrease of egg weight, acidity, white and yellow indices as well as Haugh unit by 2,88%, 8,1, 0,067, 0,350 and 78 respectively in a 30 day storage period
Pertumbuhan stek batang kantong semar (Nepenthes bicalcarata Hooker) dengan penambahan Indole Butyric Acid (IBA)
Nepenthes bicalcarata commonly grows in the edge of swampy mangrove forest and heath forest which are poor in nutrients and have a relatively high humidity. The conservation effort on N. bicalcarata can be done through plant multiplication by stem cuttings. This study aims to determine the effect of indole butyric acid (IBA) growth regulator addition on the growth of N. bicalcarata stem cuttings and to determine the concentration of IBA growth regulator that can give the best growth on N. Bicalcarata stem cuttings. The study was conducted in November 2013 to February 2014. Based on ANOVA analysis, the addition of IBA on N. bicalcarata stem cuttings significantly affected the height of the plant and the number of roots. The best IBA concentration given on N. bicalcarata stem cuttings was at 15 ppm, resulting in 19,50 cm of average plant heights and 27,25 of average roots number. The addition of IBA did not significantly affect the number of leaves and initial budding period
