Inventarisasi Jenis Kupu-kupu pada Hutan Kerangas di Kawasan Cagar Alam Mandor Kabupaten Landak
The butterfly is one of the fauna found in the area of Mandor Nature Reserve needs to bepreserved and have a benefit asenvironmental health bioindikator. This research aims to know the type and the level of diversity of butterflies on heath lands at Mandor Nature Reserve. Research methods used are field observation with outbound techniques in three different habitats, namely in the area of forest, forest edge and open areas. The research results obtained 15 types of butterflies that is Acraea violae, Appias libythea, Catopsilia pyranthe, Euploea mulciber, Eurema sari, Hypolimnas bolina, Junonia orithya, J. atlites, Letopsia nina, Neptis hylas, Papilio demodocus, P. helenus, P. polytes, P. memnon, and Parantica agleoides. Index of Diversity (H') of butterfly was founded ranged between 1.1602 - 2.1661 with average of diversity 1.7051. Index of equity (E) ranged between 0.4184 – 0.7813 with average 0.6104 that’s shows level of high equity. Index of Dominance (D) ranged between 0.1328-0.4297 with the average 0.2509 that shows there is no type of butterflies that dominates on site research
Profil Vegetasi Mangrove Desa Sebubus Kecamatan Paloh Kabupaten Sambas
The area of the mangrove forest located in Sebubus Village is not supported by the data and information that provide a description of the forest structure. This research was carried out to find out the vertical and horizontal profile diagram of mangrove vegetation in Sebubus Village, Paloh Sub-district, Sambas Regency, and to find out the influence of the character of environmental factors (salinity, pH, substrate and substrate texture) and mangrove forest zonation patterns. This research was conducted for five months from January to May 2015 in Sebubus Village, Paloh Sub-district, Sambas Regency. The data was collected by making transects at three points. The transects were 30x10 meters in size. Each transect had a sub-plot with the size of 10x10 meters. The observations and measurements were conducted on the identification of tree species, tree height, stem diameter, canopy width, and distance between each tree. The soil samples were taken in each sub-plot to conduct the analysis of the pH value, salinity and substrate structure. The research revealed that the mangrove species found in the site were Brugueira cylindrica (L.) Bl., Brugueira gymnorhiza (L.) Lam., Rhizopora mucronata Lam. and Sonneratia alba Sm.. The zonation patterns formed from the coast to inland were Sonneratia alba Sm., Rhizopora mucronata Lam., Brugueira cylindrica (L.) Bl., and Brugueira gymnorhiza (L.) Lam.. The trees found can be categorized into 3 strata, i.e. 4-9 m, 10-15 m and 16-21 m
Uji Antiinflamasi Infusa Bunga Seroja (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn) Pada Struktur Mikroanatomi Ginjal Mencit (Mus musculus) yang Mengalami Stres
Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn) is an aquatic plant that contains various kinds of phytocemical compounds, one of which is quercetin that has the potentiality to suppress inflammation. The arm of this research was to observe the anti-inflamation effect of Lotus infused water on kidneys mikroanatomical structure of mice (Mus musculus). The test subjects used in this research were 2 months old male swiss strain mice. This research utilized the completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3 replication each. The treatments groups were the given Lotus infused water orally consist of 5,6 mg/g BW, 8,4 mg/g BW and 11,2 mg/g BW dosages for 7 days, the normal control groups and the negatif control groups. Kidney microanatomical preparations were made using paraffin method with HE coloring. The result of this research show this research shows that stressing the mice may affect their kidneys microanatomical structure in forms of cell swelling (edema), hidropic degenerations, necrosis, and atrophy. The consumtions of Lotus infused water can suppress the inflammation on kidneys mikroanatomical structure of mice. The changes on kidneys tubulus and glomerolus of mice may start to be visible on the consumtion of 5,6 mg/g BW dosage of infused water
Pemanfaatan Tumbuhan Arecaceae (Palem-Paleman) Oleh Masyarakat Dayak Randu' Di Desa Batu Buil Kecamatan Belimbing Kabupaten Melawi
Several Arecaceae plant are widely used by the local resident in Batu Buil village, especially coconuts, sugar palms, areca nuts, nipah, oil palms and sago. The aims of this study were todetermine the species of each Arecaceae plant, their useful parts and how were they used by Dayak Randu’ tribe in Batu Buil village. This study was conducted from December 2013 until February 2014. Data were gathered by interviewing the respondents using the snowball method. Arecaceae were used by Dayak Randu’ tribe in different ways, such as plaited, shredded, dried and boiled. Leaves, stems, fruits and flowers were frequently used, while roots and seeds were rarely used. Result showed that there were 7 species of Arecaceae which commonly used as food source, traditional medicine, building materials, handicrafts, and others
Prevalensi dan Intensitas Larva Infektif Nematoda Gastrointestinal Strongylida dan Rhabditida pada Kultur Feses kambing (Capra sp.) di Tempat Pemotongan Hewan Kambing Pontianak
Gastrointestinal nematodes of Strongylida and Rhabditida orders are mostly found infect ruminants and may cause sufficient loss for the stock farmers. The aim of this research was to determine the prevalence and intensity of gastrointestinal nematodes infective larvae of Strongylida and Rhabditida orders in faecescultures of goat (Capra sp.) collected from four goats slaughterhouses in Pontianak. There were 30 faeces samples cultured, representing 30 individuals of goat. Faeces samples were cultured for 14 days under room temperature, the larvae then filtered using Baermann Method. The result shows that there are 3 varieties of goat slaughtered at four goat slaughterhouses in Pontianak, which are kambing kacang, Peranakan Etawa (PE), and Jawa Randu. Infective larvae of Oesophagostomum are dominantly found in faeces culture ofkambing kacang variety with prevalence value 70.83% and intensity value 40.82 larvae/gram/individuals. Infective larvae of Trichostrongylus are dominantly found in faeces culture of PE variety with prevalence value 75% and intensity value 41.33 larvae/gram/individuals. Infective larvae of Oesophagostomum are dominantly found in faeces culture of Jawa Randu variety with prevalence value 50% and intensity value 12 larvae/gram/individuals. Teladorsagia larvae are found in faeces culture of every goat varieties with the low intensity value
Jamur Mikoriza Vesikular Arbuskular (MVA) pada Tiga Jenis Tanah Rhizosfer Tanaman Pisang Nipah (Musa paradisiaca L. var. nipah) Di Kabupaten Pontianak
The growth rate of banana (M. paradisiaca L. var. nipah) in three types of soil in Pontianak district is very high. The plant growth is expected to be affected by vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza’s activity, a type of fungus that helps the process of growth and absorption of nutrients from its surroundings. This study aims todetermine the Genus found in vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza and percentage of infection level in three types of soil planted with banana (M. paradisiaca L. var. nipah). This study was carried out for three months from April 2014 to June 2014 in Laboratory of Microbiology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences,University of Tanjungpura. The procedure in this study consisted of several stages, namely sampling, isolation of spores with combination method, pour-wet filter technique and centrifugation technique, identification and characterization, as well as coloring and making root preparations with method of coloring. Based on observation result at Genus spores of vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza in alluvial soil, Acaulospora, Archaeospora, Gigaspora, Glomus and Paraglomus were found. Genus spores of vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza can be found in peat soil that contained Archaeospora, Gigaspora, Glomus, Paraglomus and Scutellospora. In ultisol soil, Genus spores of vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza consisted of Acaulospora, Gigaspora, Glomus and Paraglomus. Observation result on vesicular arbuscular mycorrhiza indicated that the percentage of infection in alluvial soil was 53% (high), 41% (average) in peat soil and ultisol soilamounted 57% (high)
Struktur Anatomi Daun, Kantung dan Sulur Nepenthes gracilis Korth. yang Tumbuh di Area Intensitas Cahaya Berbeda
Sunlight is one factor that plays a major role in the process of the plant physiology. Plants will go through a variety of morphological and anatomical changes in order to be able to adapt to the environment with varying light intensity. This research aims to know the anatomical structure of leaves, foliage and Nepenthes gracilis Korth. tendrils which grow in areas with different light intensity. The research was conducted from May 2014 to September 2014. The paraffin method is used inmaking preparations of transverse incision of leaves, foliage, and N. gracilis tendrils. The results of the study on the transverse incision of the leaves, foliage and tendrils growing at different light intensity indicated a difference in the thickness of the epidermis, stomata number, thickness of cortical cell layers and size of the vessel. N. gracilis that were grown in the shaded area had thinner epidermal thickness of leaf which was 3.24 ± 0,48μm than those grown in an open area which was 6.59 ± 1,35μm. The number of stomata grown in a shaded area was fewer i.e. 44 compared to that grown in the open area which was 84. The thickness of the cortical cell layers of tendrils grown in the shaded area was thinner which was 155.30 ± 2.79 μm than those grown in an open area that was 176, 49 ± 4,23μm and the size of the vessel on the leaves and tendrils grown in the shaded area was smaller than those grown in an open area
Aspek Reproduksi Ikan Toman (Channa micropeltes Cuvier) Di Danau Kelubi Kecamatan Tayan Hilir Kabupaten Sanggau
Snakehead fish (Channa micropeltes Cuvier) is economical freshwater fish which are found in Kelubi Lake. Over time, Kelubi lake had changed by activity around the lake and impact on biota in it. The purpose of this research to gain information about aspects of snakehead fish reproduction in the Kelubi Lake which involve include density, sex ratio, level of gonad maturity, index of gonad maturity, fecundity, and egg diameter, along with aspects of marine environment Kelubi Lake. This research have been done at December, 2013 untill February, 2014. Sampling technique using Proportionate Cluster Random Sampling with fishnet stocking area 12,56 m2. Based on Catch per Unit Effort (CPUE) analyst is known snakehead fish density in Kelubi Lake is 439 fishes. Sex ratio between snakehead fish male and female is 2:1. Population is dominated by widhitebait with level of gonad maturity (TKG) I. Index of gonad maturity is about 0,03-0,94%,indicates that snakehead fish can spawn year-around. Snakehead fish fecundity as about 14.056 grains/fish and egg diameter range between 2,30-2,57 mm
Penggunaan Benzylaminopurine (BAP) dalam Mempertahankan Kualitas Bunga Potong Anggrek (Vanda douglas. Joaqium )
The increase in the vaselife is one of the important factors to improve the quality of cut flowers of orchid Vanda douglas one of which is by giving a growth substance. The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of BAP and to find the concentration to reduce decrease of vase life and withered petals as well as maintaining the period of vase life. This research was conducted in the Biology Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the Tanjungpura University, Pontianak in May 2014. The research methods used was the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 6 BAP concentration treatments, i.e. aquades control of 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 ppm respectively. The results showed that the giving BAP of 20 ppm could slow down the decrease of vase life in cut flowers by 35,31%, the number of withered petals by 40% and retained the period of vase life of cut flowers up to 12,33 days
Pemanfaatan Gel Lidah Buaya (Aloe chinensis L.) yang Diaplikasikan dengan Gliserin sebagai Bahan Pelapis Buah Pisang Barangan (Musa acuminata L.)
Aloe vera gel (Aloe chinensis L.) is a polysaccharise that contains a lot of inhibitor components for postharvest damage in fresh food products and is capable of maintaining humidity by means of controlling the water loss. The material that can be combined with the coating material to maintain the compound of the Aloe gel is glycerine. This research aims to find out the influence of coating materials of Aloe vera gel bu adding glycerine to the storage of barangan banana (Musa acuminata L.). The research was conducted from April to July 2014. It employed a Completely Randomized Design with 7 concentration of glicerine (0%, 5%, 6%, 7%, 8%, 9%, 10%). Analysis results showed that the educed weight of the banana covered with a mix of Aloe vera gel and glycerin of 75 was 6,75%. The banana skin color covered with a mix of Aloe vera gel and glycerin of 7% resulted in a score of 22. The organoleptic test resulted in the aroma score of 5,00-5,47 and flavor of 5,18-5,71 which means the banana is somewhat favored by consumers. The Kruskal-Wallis analysis results continued with Nemenyi test on the banana glucose level showed that the banana coated with a mix of Aloe vera gel and glycerin 7% had a glucose level of 4,5% on the 12th day of observation.Keywords: Aloe ver
