Ben Jelloun?s Point of View on Racism in the Essay Le Racisme Expliqueé À Ma Fille
No full textMoroccan literature has been growing since the 1950s, when Morocco was still under French occupation. The big themes that commonly appear in Moroccan literature are the issues of colonialism and racism. One Moroccan writer whose work speaks a lot about racism is Tahar Ben Jelloun. This article aims to analyze one of Ben Jelloun's works entitled Le Racisme expliquée à ma fille. The essay discusses a father and his 10-year-old daughter about racism and what makes people became racist. In the essay, some words are in bold, and these words are mostly phenomena or social events related to the dark history of world civilization due to racism. This study used a qualitative method by using Genette's focalization theory and opposition theory by Greimas markers. The analysis results show that the concept of racism in this essay is conveyed through the father's focalization even though the essay's form is a question and answer between the father and daughter. The selection of forms of dialogue with father and daughter figures can be seen as a narrative strategy to convey the implicit meaning to combat racism. No full textThe purpose of this research is to know Reaganism terms from the main character in the movie. The author uses qualitative descriptive analysis to analyze it. The data are collected from dialogues, the scripts and pictures that captured in the movie. The author analyzed this movie using the concept masculinity and Reaganism terms that exist. From the analysis of this movie, the author finds that the main character which has all of collective symbol of men related to Reagan masculinity terms. It appear when the main character, Dominic shows about his bulged, and well-built body in the movie. His life started as a street racer in Los Angeles, become a leader of his team, and his family since Dom?s father passed away. In this movie the main character tries to save the world from the high class professional villain, Owen Shaw in London. Although the main character also shows about the masculinity concepts in him, he appears as a father, the hard man with some deadly skills when he fights, and some ability to drive, tune his own supercars. In this movie the main character is also shows the action heroic that related to Reaganism terms. By using weapons, firearms and American supercars, Dominic is becoming a hero and save the world with all kind from American in this movie

The purpose and significance of this research are to understand, analyze and explain the narration of video game in literary perspective or literary study and the anarchism issues in the video game. Using qualitative method and descriptive analysis technique, this research explains the video games narrative aspects studied in literary studies and also to explain the conflict that occurred in the video games by using philosophical socio-politics concept of anarchism. The narrative of Assassin?s Creed II video games has narrative structure like the other forms of fiction as it is researched through literary narrative theory. The video game also has its own narrative theory as it synergic with the theory of narrative. The anarchism issues shown in Assassin?s Creed IIare shown within the video game through the narrative and video games theory, as it shown socio-politics struggle between characters.The class war between the oppresed and the oppressor started when oppressive state start to produce a reaction among people to revolution progress as it a part of communist anarchism, while the liberation act based on the individulist anarchism. The meaning of emotion words in those song imply the songwriter?s background. The emotion words are classified based on Robert Plutchik and Henry Kellerman?s book titled Emotion: Theory, Research, and Experiment. Then, those emotion words are analysed using semantics theory to find the meaning and how the songwriter?s background is implied. The method which is used in this research is qualitative method because the research is describing verbal data which is the words in the song lyrics

No full textPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kepuasan pemustaka terhadap layanan karya tulis ilmiah di Perpustakaan FKIK UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta berdasarkan dimensi Information Control dan Library as Place. Selain itu juga untuk mengetahui kepuasan pemustaka terhadap sikap dan perilaku petugas layanan karya tulis ilmiah. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester akhir yang merupakan anggota perpustaaan FKIK UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta dengan jumlah responden 65 dari total populasi 327 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara teknik purposive sampling. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode LibQUAL+TM untuk mengukur kepuasan pemustaka berdasarkan kualitas layanan perpustakaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kepuasan pemustaka tentang kualitas layanan karya tulis ilmiah di perpustakaan FKIK UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta berdasarkan dimensi Affect of Service mendapatkan penilaian puas dilihat dari nilai Adequacy Gap dengan skor 0,55 sedangkan penilaian hasil dari Superiority Gap dengan skor -0,94, masuk dalam batas Zone Of Tolerance. Information Control dalam kategori puas, dilihat dari nilai Adequacy Gap dengan skor 0,61 sedangkan Superiority Gap -0,72, masuk dalam batas Zone Of Tolerance. Library as Place berada di kategori puas dilihat dari nilai Adequacy Gap dengan skor 0,6 untuk Superiority Gap dengan skor -0,4 masuk dalam batas Zone Of Tolerance

The translation technique of subtitling and dubbing in original soundtrack movie (Frozen: Let it Go).
No full textIt is a research of translation technique which focuses on the subtitling and dubbing translation in OST Frozen: Let it Go. The researcher takes the whole lyrics of the song for the corpus. The researcher uses qualitative method to explore the objective of the research. The researcher uses herself in collecting data through several steps: reading each source language and target language, finding the translation techniques contained in the target language, marking, classifying and analyzing them based on the theories of translation technique proposed by Molina and Albir. The finding obtained from the analyses of the data show that: first, the subtitled version uses eleven techniques in the process of translation from the lyricsinto the subtitled version while the dubbed version only uses nine techniques in translating the lyrics into the dubbed version; second, the most frequent translation technique applied in the subtitled version is literal translation while the dubbed version?s most common techniques are modulation and reductio
Semantic error analysis of instagram machine translation from Indonesian to English
No full textThis study aims to know the translation error in semantic aspects. Some of them are referential, grammatical, and contextual meaning on the translation that is produced by instagram machine translation by using the descriptive-qualitative method according to Sayogie theory.The data, namely, caption are taken from HTI?s instagram account regarding their postings in responding the Islamic defensive action of 2016. The three data are compared to the target language by recognising the translation errors of semantic aspects. As the result, the analyzed data show two translation errors occur to referential meaning, the twenty two translation errors occur to grammatical meaning, while nineteen translation errors occur to contextual meaning. The translation errors that mostly appear of each datum are grammatical and contextual meaning. The all translation errors show that instagram machine translation cannot produce a good translation, and human as a translator still have crucial role in translating. Therefore, as human, we should not expect more to the instagram machine translation to produce a good translation. The quality of Instagram machine translation cannot translate well of the grammatical and contextual meaning
