Attraverso uno sguardo comparativo esteso a diverse diocesi dell’Italia centro-settentrionale, questo contributo analizza lo sviluppo di tali esperienze, ricostruendone profilo e articolazione istituzionale. Stringendo il focus sulla Lombardia Tre-Quattrocentesca, si proverà infine a valutare l’impatto esercitato da alcuni fenomeni (la ridefinizione del potere episcopale, l’irrobustimento del controllo fiscale visconteo sulle chiese locali) sugli assetti fiscali e sugli equilibri fra le diverse componenti del corpo ecclesiastico. / ENGLISH: In the late Middle Ages, the tax pressure on local churches encouraged the emergence of peculiar forms of shared management of taxation. By comparing the situation of several dioceses in Central and Northern Italy, this contribution examines the development of such experiences, analyzing their profile and structure. Particular attention will be paid to 14th and 15th century Lombardy, where the redefinition of episcopal power and the consolidation of Visconti’s fiscal control over local churches had a significant impact on diocesan fiscal structures and on the balance between the different parts of the ecclesiastical body

Get PDFFRANÇAIS: L’objectif de cette étude est d’éclairer sous un jour nouveau les choix résidentiels et les stratégies d’acquisition de biens immobiliers des élites génoises réunies en alberghi au cours du XVe siècle à partir des sources fiscales et en particulier du registre Possessionum de 1414. L’analyse fine de la documentation et des données qu’il est possible d’en extraire permettent d’examiner en détails ces choix tout en mettant en évidence l’importance du patrimoine immobilier de ces élites et les stratégies de contrôle de l’espace qu’elles développent. Enfin, certains aspects précis de la gestion des biens immobiliers sont pris en considération afin de nuancer l’hypothèse selon laquelle les propriétés avaient été gérées pro indiviso au sein des alberghi. / ENGLISH: The aim of this study is to reconsider the residential choices and strategies in property acquisition of the Genoese elites gathered in alberghi during the 15th century on the basis of fiscal sources and in particular of the Possessionum register of 1414. A detailed analysis of the sources and the collected data enable to examine such choices in detail and to underscore the consistency of the real estate property, and the strategies of control of the urban space. Famiglie e alberghi genovesi nel Trecento: per un censimento dei segni di distinzione e di appartenenza
Get PDFITALIANO: L’articolo intende affrontare quanto ruota attorno alla coppia oppositiva distinzione/incondizionata adesione per quanto concerne gli alberghi della città ligure, sia che derivino da un unico ceppo familiare, sia che risultino dall’aggregazione di diversi nuclei familiari, e proporre un primo censimento. L’arco cronologico preso in considerazione è il secolo XIV, poco esplorato per quanto riguarda la vicenda cittadina, mentre le fonti analizzate sono per lo più ancora prodotte e conservate dalle istituzioni religiose. Epigrafi sepolcrali, marcatori di famiglia sugli edifici, pianete e arredi per altari e infine una causa per l’uso di un banco destinato alle donne nella cattedrale contribuiscono a delineare un quadro molto mosso in cui c’è spazio sia per declinazioni personali delle scelte sia per identificazioni incondizionate. / ENGLISH: The article aims to address distinction/unconditional membership with regard to the Genoese alberghi, be they a single-family entity or an association gathering several households, and advance some initial hypotheses. The contribution considers the 14th century, which is still little-studied as far as the city’s history is concerned, while the sources analysed are mostly produced and preserved by religious institutions. Sepulchral epigraphs, family markers on buildings, chasubles and altar furnishings, and finally a lawsuit for the use of one of the pews in the cathedral which was reserved for the women of an aristocratic family, help to paint a dynamic picture in which there is room for both personal choices and unconditional identifications

Se si prende in esame l’ambito genovese della prima metà del secolo XV, tra le serie archivistiche già valorizzate dagli eruditi e dagli studiosi ottocenteschi emerge quella relativa alle suppliche
per pattuire la tassazione pro capite, inoltrate al governo da artisti specializzati nelle tecniche suntuarie e da artigiani delle più varie estrazioni. L’analisi comparata di diversi documenti, editi e inediti, fa individuare possibili segnali di crisi nel “sistema” produttivo delle arti suntuarie negli anni intorno al 1440. / ENGLISH: Since a small number of artworks have survived, the documentary sources must be attentively examined in order to write a history of medieval and 15th Century sumptuary Arts in Genoa and in the Liguria region. As 19th Century scholars pointed out, the archival series of the tax agreement pleas submitted to the Genoese government in the first half of 15th Century provide substantial information about the social status of the artists. The compared analysis of a number of these documents, both published and unpublished, allows us to identify some signals of crisis in the “system” of luxury artistic production in Genoa around 1440

the urban space between the 13th and early 16th centuries, contributing new knowledge on the regio Nidi, thanks also to unpublished sources. It analyses the residential strategies
developed by some noble families defined as antique at the end of the 15th century and the practices of the urban space control they eventually activated. The aim is to examine how the vetustas i.e. rootedness and unflinching control of the urban space is perceived as a criterion of social distinction and as a symbolic notion codified by the ancient nobility in the late 15th century

To this end, cases from different contexts and chronologies have been examined: firstly, Giovanni Villani’s chronicle, which conveys a polarized image of the Gothic and Carolingian worlds; and then some testimonies from the ninth century, that use the Ostrogothic model in connection with the present in a more complex and
ambivalent manner. The various interpretations of the Gothic world are linked by a tendency to emphasize historical analogies, that leads to an overall and protracted disinterest in the specific forms of Ostrogothic society and in the work that most documents it, i.e. Cassiodorus’ "Variae"
