Acceleration of Very Large Reflectarray Radiation Pattern Computation Using an Adaptive Resolution Spectral Grid
In this work, it is proposed a novel use of the Non-Uniform Fast Fourier Transform (NUFFT) in reflectarray antenna analysis to greatly accelerate the computation of radiation patterns using a non-uniform, reduced and adaptive grid in the spectral domain. The proposed methodology is very useful for very large reflectarrays which have very narrow beamwidths due to their large directivity, and shaped-beam reflectarrays for satellite applications such as Direct Broadcast Satellite (DBS), which might require a compliance analysis in very small angular regions. In those cases, high resolution in the radiation pattern is required, while a low resolution could be enough elsewhere to account for side lobes. However, current analysis techniques for such reflectarrays present limitations regarding large memory footprints or slow computations. The methodology presented in this work allows to overcome those limitations by performing computations in a non-uniform, reduced and adaptive grid in the transformed UV domain, achieving faster computations using considerably less memory. Numerical examples for current applications of interest are provided to assess the capabilities of the technique. In particular, the use of the NUFFT allows to compute efficiently the radiation pattern in any principal plane with improved resolution for multibeam applications. Also, compliance analyses for DBS applications may be improved with the use of a reduced, multiresolution grid and the NUFFT. The proposed technique is thus suitable to greatly accelerate optimization algorithms. This work was supported in part by the European Space Agency (ESA) under contract ESTEC/AO/1-7064/12/NL/MH; by the Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, under project TEC2017-86619-R (ARTEINE); by the Ministerio de Economía, Industria y Competitividad under project TEC2016-75103-C2-1-R (MYRADA); and by the Gobierno del Principado de Asturias through Programa "Clarín" de Ayudas Postdoctorales / Marie Curie-Cofund under project ACA17-09
Quantifying the Variability in Flow Competence and Streambed Mobility with Water Discharge in a Gravel-Bed Channel: River Esva, NW Spain
Streambed mobility in gravel-bed rivers is largely controlled by the rate at which particles with different grain sizes are recruited from the riverbed into the bed load. In this paper, we present a study case in which we explored this question, based on combining field observations using painted plots and the grain size analysis of a large flood sediment deposit in the River Esva, northwest Spain, and the generalized threshold model (GTM) competence model developed by Recking. The main aim was to accomplish a complete characterization of streambed mobility in this river. The obtained results suggest the large potential of the GTM model compared to previous competence models when searching for the quantitative description of particle entrainment and streambed mobility in the River Esva. We observed how the grain size of the bed load in the River Esva tended to be closer to that of the sub-armour bed material during large floods, while moderate magnitude flows tended to carry a relatively fine bed load. Additionally, we compared our results with previously published field observations on flow competence. This comparison outlined the large degree of site specificity in the links between grain size of the bed load and that of the bed material.Ayuda post-doctoral ACB17-44, co-financiada por el programa “Clarín”-FICYT (Principado de Asturias)/ Marie Curie Co-Fund.

Framboidal chalcopyrite and bornite constrain redox conditions during formation of their host rocks in the copper stratabound mineralization of Picachos, north-central Chile
The Picachos Project is a copper deposit that occurs in manto-type orebodies in north-central Chile and it exhibits
common features of Chilean stratabound or manto-type copper deposits: (1) an increase of copper contents
from the margins to the centre of the orebodies; (2) sodic and potassic hydrothermal alteration of host rocks with
subsequent chloritization and sericite alteration; and (3) its occurrence in sequences of limestones that are
intercalated with volcanic rocks. The most salient characteristic of the Picachos Project is the presence of pervasive
framboidal pyrite in both the non-mineralized limestones and the host rocks of the copper mineralization.
These framboidal pyrites are well preserved, probably due to their close relationship with organic matter, and
have no evident textures of overgrowth, recrystallization or dissolution. Moreover, framboidal chalcopyrite and
bornite are formed in the external and internal areas, respectively, of the orebodies, sharing common morphological
characteristics with framboidal pyrite, and are formed by the replacement of the original pyrite
framboids, without changing their shape and size distribution. Representative size distributions of framboidal
pyrite, chalcopyrite and bornite are determined using high-resolution X-ray tomography (micro-CT). This study
highlights the effectiveness of these analytical techniques to obtain the representative size distribution of
framboids in mineralized rocks. The preservation of the original framboidal texture of pyrite makes it possible to
infer anoxic to near-dysoxic conditions. The size distributions of framboidal chalcopyrite and bornite are hypothesized
to be additional potential paleo-redox indicators, referring to the same formation dynamic as typical
framboidal pyrites.Spanish Ministry of Economy and

In recent years, the prevalence of type 2 diabetes has increased, reaching 15.3% in the Valencian Community. A basic pillar in good metabolic control is therapeutic adherence, which is why today, according to the World Health Organization, therapeutic compliance is a priority health issue.
Objetives
The main objective is to determine the adherence to pharmacological treatment and the healthy lifestyles of type 2 diabetics at the Benicasim health center in the period from July 2017 to December 2017.
Methodology
An observational, descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out using the Morisky-Green survey and the instrument to measure lifestyle in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (IMEVID). A total of 151 patients diagnosed with the ICD 250 Diabetes mellitus type 2 at the Benicasim health center were included.
For the univariate analysis, the point estimate and the 95% confidence interval were calculated and for the bivariate analysis the Chi square for the qualitative variants and the Student's T for qualitative and quantitative variants were calculated.
Results
It was found that 98% of the people analyzed had a healthy or very healthy lifestyle while adherence to pharmacological treatment was 29.8%.
Conclusions
It has been shown that there is still non-compliance with treatment, which makes it necessary to continue research to improve therapeutic adherence through health education.

ENGLISH: The study investigates some aspects of the relationship between the counts of Savoy and the scribes who produced their documents, and reconstructs the effects that this relationship had on textual structures, authenticating practices and graphic forms. In Piedmont, the dynasty systematically exploited the work of imperial notaries. In the various sectors of the transalpine domains and in the Aosta valley, the documents concerning the counts were written by local scribes (mainly clerics from the entourages of bishops and abbots) until the end of the 12th century; after 1200 many Sabaudian acts were produced by itinerant notaries mainly from the Savoy region. In that area notaries could have an ecclesiastical, Sabaudian or imperial appointment (many of them had more than one) and notary practices differed from the Italian ones in terms of forms, validation methods and extrinsic characters. The notaries who were Sabaudian officers (usually designated as notarii comitis) adapted those practices taking into account many factors: the ambitions of the counts, who looked for both public legitimacy and administrative efficiency; the legal traditions of the areas where the documents had to be used; the outcomes of the dialectic between the professional autonomy of the notary and his subordination to the counts as an officer
ENGLISH: Innocent III was, without any doubt, the pope who gave the greatest contribution to the birth and affirmation of the “Romano-canonical procedure”. One in particular, among the legislative measures of this Pope, constitutes the central point of this essay dedicated to the role of writing in the judicial process: the decree Quoniam contra issued in the Fourth Lateran Council and traditionally considered as the decisive factor for the affirmation of a new judicial procedure characterized by the clear prevalence of writing on orality. The subject is dealt with in three sections: the first deals with the situation previuos to the issuing of this decree; the second is devoted to examining the contents of the same text and the third to some reflections on the impact it had on the development of doctrine and legal practice during the late Middle Age
ENGLISH: From our West, the Mediterranean shorelines touching Syria and Palestine, or the “Holy Land” and Egypt until the Libyan littoral coasts are defined Eastern by centuries; but it is
good to remember that this is only the orientation established ‘ex Occidente’ and for the first inhabitants of Babylon, instead, this sea would have been the “Upper Sea”, the border of the known world, while for us, who today we can observe the Earth from the sky, it seems the tip
of an upside-down crescent, almost opposite to the “fertile” living one in the collective memory
Best Practices for 3D Digital Recording and Global Sharing of Catacombs from Late Roman Sicily
During the most recent excavations at the Catacombs of St. Lucy at Siracusa, carried out between 2013 and 2015, an array of 3D technologies were employed to record excavation data and provide new interpretative models for the site. The research focused on some very problematic parts of the Region C of the complex. Thisarea most effectively documents the long life of the Christian hypogeum, which incorporated previous structures and artefacts related to the Greek and Early Roman Imperial periods and continued to beused until the Middle Ages. During the exploration 3D digital techniques were used for the daily recording of the archaeological units, but also to create high-resolution virtual replicas of certain districts of the catacombs. Furthermore, the same techniques were applied to support the study of certain classes of materials, such as frescoes and marble architectural elementsthat couldnot otherwise be studieddue to the dark environment of the catacombs. The virtual archaeology research undertaken at the Catacombs of St. Lucy represents the first systematic application of 3D digital technologies tothe study of such a specialarchaeological context in Sicily, culminating in a work-plan for digital global dissemination
