Investigation of stability limits of a premixed counter flame
In combustion operations, flame fronts are often spread in an irregular. Therefore, the temperature and flame speed varies along the flame\u27s front and depend on the asymmetry of the composition of the mixture and the conditions of the local flow before the flame, especially this behavior is evident in double counter flames. This paper describes an analytical study of stability limits of premixed counter flame. The investigation is based on experiments carried out to identify the effect of varying the distance between upper and lower burner edges on the stability limits at different equivalence ratio valuesliquid petroleum gas (LPG) was used as fuel in experiments. The blow-off limit, disc flame limit, and double flame limit were investigated. Under the change of fuel gas-air flow velocity, in this type of flames, the conical flame is transformed into mushroom-shaped tented flame attached to the widened convex apex in the medial distance between the upper and lower burner edges. The experimental data and numerical analysis obtained show that high-stability for double flame, fuel-rich premixed flame operate over narrow range of equivalence ratio ? from 0.43 to 1.41. The ANSYS 17.0 FLUENT Premixed Flamelet Module with pre-processing was used. The results appear that increasing distance between burner edges decreases the flame stability efficiency
MOOC quality design criteria for programming and non-programming students
The purpose of this study is to investigate the quality design criteria for developing a Massive
Open Online Course (MOOC). Currently, there are limited studies that highlight the required design
criteria for the MOOC programming courses. A descriptive analysis was conducted to examine the
characteristics of the three important quality design criteria which are (i) Instructional Design Criteria
involving Lecture Organization and Culture(ii) Technical Criteria involving User Interface, Video
Content, Learning and Social Tools, and Learning Analyticsand (iii) E-Assessment. The data were
collected from 306 respondents, representing the UUM MOOC students of 2018 class, were further
analyzed using the T-Test hypothesis testing to determine whether both the programming and nonprogramming students require the same quality design criteria. The questionnaire used in this study
consists of 46 items related to the MOOC quality design criteria that were adapted from previous
studies. The results indicate that out of the nine constructs, four have obtained significant differences
in the mean scores, namely the Video Content, Instructional Design, Culture, and E-assessment. This
signifies that different quality design criteria are needed for both the programming and nonprogramming students. The outcome of this study may assist the developers in designing the MOOC
by providing the required criteria according to its importance

The magnetorheological fluid: testing on automotive braking system
This paper presents the testing of a Magnetorheological brake (MRB) in the braking system of a vehicle. Two techniques are used to determine the capability of the brake system which are the simulation via Matlab Simulink Software and experimental study by using a quarter vehicle test rig. A Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) is employed as a wheel speed control as well as to enforce the MRB to produce the required braking torque need by a vehicle. A dynamic test, namely sudden braking test is performed in three rotational speed conditions which are from 127.5 rad/s (1200 rpm) to 31.42 rad/s (300 rpm), 52.37 Rad/s (500 rpm) and 73.31 rad/s (700 rpm) in two different wheel load which are 10 kg and 15 kg, respectively. The behaviours to be assessed are wheel speed response and brake torque produced by the MRB. From the observation, it is concluded that the capability of the MRB in providing the required brake torque is promising and harmony between simulation and experimental response
Institutional Reform Success Indicators in Higher Education
Reformation of higher education (HE) institutions is fundamental in improving and strengthening its academic institutions of HE independence. Moving on now to consider the present academic community must undergo a process of change to improve the teaching, research, management functions, and operations of the institutions, which are incremental in a sustainable manner. In essence, there are many indicators of success that have been identified in studies conducted for other industries. The major trend currently observed is the reformation of the HE institutions in major countries mimicking the for-profit industries to make them more competitive. This paper integrates and advances pertinent factors that enable an effective and successful reformation process from the Asian HE perspective by reviewing relevant reformation literature on the matter. This systematic review has developed three (3) core themes relating to the importance of leadership, policy development and governance, and autonomy, which regards higher institutional practices from within the Asian region reviewed. And to conclude, the internal factor is dominating the indicators for HE reforms success. This finding seeks to offer future research to be extended from established institutions from other developed countries as a comparison when planning and implementing change initiatives at the institutional level
Leveraging business data analytics and machine learning techniques for competitive advantage: case study evidence from small businesses
Data analytics is the essential component in deriving insights from data obtained from multiple sources. It represents the technology, methods and techniques used to obtain insights from massive datasets. As data increases, companies are looking for ways to gain relevant business insights underneath layers of data and information, to help them better understand new business ventures, opportunities, business trends and complex challenges. However, to date, while the extensive benefits of business data analytics to large organizations are widely published, micro, small, and medium sized organisations have not fully grasped the potential benefits to be gained from data analytics using machine learning techniques. This study is guided by the research question of how data analytics using machine learning techniques can benefit small businesses. Using the case study method, this paper outlines how small businesses in two different industries i.e. healthcare and retail can leverage data analytics and machine learning techniques to gain competitive advantage from the data. Details on the respective benefits gained by the small business owners featured in the two case studies provide important answers to the research question
The Influence of Expenditure Behaviour Towards Homeownership
Homeownership becomes the dream of all households. It requires proper planning on the buyer\u27s income and expenses. The different level of household expenditure often influences the allocation of money for house purchasing. Hence, various types of household expenditures have been studied to see how far they may affect the current income and homeownership. A mixed-method was adapted to completing the study. A study sample was obtained through the questionnaire survey among respondents residing within Klang Valley region. The analysis was conducted using the correlation technique. The results show that all categories of expenditure are significant and have a high impact on the status of homeownership
Modelling Workplace Incivility as a Social Process Towards Sustainable Workforce in the Malaysian Context
as well as employees\u27 preferences on how to address incivility at work and who should handle it. This qualitative study will investigate workplace incivility to understand incivility from the perspective of employees, refine the theoretical understanding of workplace incivility construct, and collecting data to develop the integrative model of workplace incivility. Employees will be asked to answer open-ended survey questions about the characteristics of workplace incivility and questions about why it happens. Responses will be analyzed with the phenomenological method. This research can also ease the development of practical strategies to manage and prevent workplace incivility. Therefore, the findings of this study can serve as a basis for specific prevention and intervention techniques that can be built in the future. This is because, it is important to uncover effective strategies to manage workplace incivility to improve employee well-being, which in turn would influence organizational performance
