Exploring the sustainable retirement village concept in the Malaysian context: an initial review
The sustainable retirement village is designed for senior citizens to enhance the quality of the living environment by providing suitable accommodation, services, and facilities which meet residents\u27 social, economic, and environmental needs. The concept of a sustainable retirement village can be adopted in Malaysia as the population aged 65 years and older is expected to increase to 24 per cent in 2050. However, in Malaysia, the provision of the elderly home is still at the introduction phase, and the concept of a retirement village is not clear because there is no technical and legal definition. Thus, this study aimed to explore the sustainable retirement village potential practices in Malaysia. A systematic literature review analysis was conducted based on practices in Malaysia and other countries. The findings of the study indicated that independent living, age-friendly environment, affordability and location are the main concepts of the retirement village. This paper provides a basis of reference to assist various stakeholders such as the government, developers, researchers and society in understanding the concept for the development of a sustainable retirement village
Quality of work life among public hospital nurses in Sarawak
Globally, the quality of work-life (QoWL) of nurses is significantly affected. They are the largest health care groups and the leading front liners in the clinical settings. When the nurse\u27s quality of work life is compromised, the work environment\u27s dynamic changes will also be affected. At current, the focus issues in nursing include excessive workload and poor work conditions. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of quality of work-life among public hospital nurses in Sarawak General Hospital (SGH), Kuching, Malaysia. Methods: Descriptive study with a purposive sampling technique was used in recruiting 461 nurses working at SGH. A composite scale was used for the assessment of QoWL in nurses. Data were collected using adapted questionnaires that focused on nine different areas. The questionnaires were distributed to the nurses via an online survey. This study revealed that 52.9% of the respondents were not satisfied with their QoWL, while 47.1% were satisfied. Three areas were identified to record a higher percentage of unsatisfactory QoWL: relation and cooperation, autonomy of work, and resources adequacy. There are significant differences between the nurses\u27 quality of work-life and socio- demographic characteristics (p-value?0.01). Female nursesthose involved in clinicalworking and staying at the same hospital for a long timeand those working shifts, having satisfactory QoWL. In sum, the nurse\u27s quality of work-life is at a moderate level. This research further indicates that the socio-demographic features of nurses and QoWL are substantially linked. Result-driven research is also needed to examine the effectiveness, efficacy, and cost benefits of specific strategies to improve quality of life. The health care authorities should implement policies to strengthen nurses\u27 working standards and their QoWL to provide excellent and effective care for their client
The Cayley graphs of crystallographic point groups under hexagonal crystal system
In chemistry, point groups are used to describe the molecular symmetries of
a molecule. Meanwhile, a crystallographic point group is a set of point group
that holds at least one point in a fixed position and have some restriction on
the rotational symmetries. In this research, the application of graph theory
and group theory on the symmetry study of molecules is presented in which
the Cayley graph of crystallographic point groups under the hexagonal
crystal system is determined. The generators are also computed for group

An overview of the management of rectal neuroendocrine tumours: a case report
The incidence of patients with rectal neuroendocrine tumours (RNET) is on an exponential rise. This is due to the increasing awareness and improving knowledge of the disease resulting in earlier detection via colorectal cancer screening programmes. The latest guidelines suggest transanal, endoscopic or surgical treatment depending on the size, nature and stage of the tumour, with non-specific post-treatment surveillance. (Copied from article)
A rare case of myeloid sarcoma of the colonic epiploicae mimicking acute appendicitis
Myeloid sarcoma or granulocytic sarcoma is a rare extramedullary manifestation of acute myeloid leukaemia. It is a tumour mass consisting of myeloblastic cells or immature myeloid cells and is associated with a poor prognosis. Diagnosing a myeloid sarcoma is challenging due to its non-specific clinical and radiological findings. Case presentation: We report a case of a 25-year-old gentleman who presented with two days history of right-sided abdominal pain mimicking an atypical acute appendicitis. (Copied from article)
The impact of mass media and social networks on how fans interact with sports libraries in the world
Abstract
Background and Aim: The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of mass media and social
networks on the relationship between fans and sports librarians in the world. Method: In this study, to
investigate the role of new media and social networks on the interactions between fans and sports
librarians, the role of new media on how fans interact with sports libraries from the review of the
research carried out from 2009 onwards. Regarding the use of sports media, given that the category of
modern media is a new concept, quantitative research has been conducted on its impact on sport, the
creation of jobs, the promotion of communication, and the limited research on the negative effects of
these media. The study was followed by a manual review of the studies conducted over the period without
such results. Findings: It is not that all interactions between fans of athletes and coaches in the new
media are positive. The growing interaction that has emerged between these groups today can have
negative aspects. The results showed that the negative aspects of the new media have affected all life\u27s
moments of athletes and coaches. Negative tweets are so bad in some cases that most athletes and
coaches are forced to turn off their communication devices. Conclusion: It seems that with the
development of new media and social networks the wall between athletes, coaches and fans is collapsing
and it is possible for new connections between these two groups to be created, this new relationship has
a lot of positive and negative effects, although the organization sports exercises allow for a better
experience for fans
Flow Characteristics and Efficiency of Faraskour Pump Sump using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
This paper predicts and enhances the hydraulic problems in the Faraskour pumping station. Initially, water could not reach the first and fifth units of the operation. The main hydraulic problem of the suction basin of the new pump station is the sharp rotation of the suction guide from the sharp rotation of the quay station, and that caused the continuous discontinuation of the first and fifth units due to the lack of regular water entering the unit. A numerical simulation was conducted to investigate the hydraulic stability of the station. Computational fluid dynamic (CFD) is used to simulate the flow conditions at different working pumping units to predict the hydraulic problem at the suction side. The results indicate that the geometry of the intake is proper for running five parallel flow pumps with the designed flow rate and use guide walls with a curvature length of 6 m and width of 0.5 m for each pump
