Impact of industry 4.0 concept on the levers of lean manufacturing approach in manufacturing industries
No full textIndustrial companies looking for permanent performance are facing challenges of reducing production costs, reducing customer delivery delays and improving their quality products, this lead them to improve their responsiveness and flexibility to meet the varying needs of customers. To cope with these constraints, several industrial companies have adopted the Lean Manufacturing (LM) concept, based on the Toyota production system, to reduce wastage according to a methodical and structured approach that has given this proof for several years, this approach currently finds its limits, since it is based on static data, while a dynamic approach, with real-time data on customer needs and production performance, will readjust the levers of Lean Manufacturing to improve its efficiency. No full textFokus kajian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perbelanjaan belia kumpulan B40 dan M40 yang menetap di bandar, iaitu Kuala Lumpur berdasarkan keperluan tertentu. Bagi mencapai objektif kajian ini, satu kerangka kajian tentang keperluan yang diutamakan ketika berbelanja telah dibangunkan. Keperluan tersebut merangkumi keperluan asas, perlindungan dan kesihatan, keluarga, agama, dan masa lapang. Hasil dapatan kajian memperlihatkan bahawa tiada perbezaan yang signifikan antara kedua-dua kumpulan tersebut ketika berbelanja. Walau bagaimanapun, terdapat perbezaan keutamaan ketika berbelanja yang didorong oleh keinginan untuk menjamin kelangsungan hidup di bandar. Walaupun keperluan asas seperti pemilikan rumah sering menjadi topik perbincangan dalam kajian perbelanjaan khususnya bagi kumpulan berpendapatan rendah dan sederhana, harga rumah yang tidak mampu milik lebih-lebih lagi di bandar telah menyebabkan perbelanjaan bagi keperluan perumahan membeli rumah bukanlah penyumbang utama dalam keseluruhan perbelanjaan. Liberating orphan works from the copyright orphanage: the Malaysian perspective
No full textOrphan works are works that are still protected by copyright and whose owners cannot be
identified or located by prospective users for copyright clearance. Many countries have addressed this
issue since the emergence of the problem, and it remains a legitimate subject of inquiry in this present
day. However, Malaysia is yet to initiate public consultations and formulate legislative and nonlegislative solutions to the orphan work problem. Hence, this paper aspires to underline the challenges
and obstacles in exploiting the orphan works in Malaysia. It starts with a brief introduction to the orphan
works problem and its causes. It further highlights the legal and policy uncertainties about the orphan
work phenomenon in Malaysia and its implication to higher learning education. Besides, this paper also
examines the current practices in the United Kingdom and Canada. Finally, this paper proposes some
suggestions into what Parliament and policymakers have to do and avoid when solving Malaysia\u27s
orphan work phenomenon. It is hoped that the access to the orphan works in Malaysia would not be
problematised, thereby liberating them from the copyright orphanage
The impact of biodiesel blend variation contamination to engine friction, wear, performance and emission
No full textBiodiesel can be utilised in diesel engines without major alteration to the enginehowever, its use can lead to engine oil dilution through biodiesel leaking and scraping to the engine oil pan. The objective of this research is to investigate the contamination of biodiesel in engine lubricant oil, and determine the relationship between engine performance and emission for three different blends of palm methyl ester (B10, B20, and B30). To simulate the contamination, the engine oils were blended with biodiesel fuels at 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% by volume and these mixtures were tested on four-ball test equipment. An air-cooled diesel engine was used to analyse the influence of the three biodiesel blends on the output and emission of the diesel engine. The results show that both coefficient of friction and wear scar diameter increased with the increase of biodiesel percentage. The results of engine performance during both sweep test and step test showed that the variation of torque and power among the blends at a particular speed was within a very narrow range
Security Analysis Between Static and Dynamic Sboxes In Block Ciphers
No full textThe development of block ciphers has resulted in a number of cryptographic
algorithms such as AES, aria, blowfish256, desl, and 3d-aes. AES is one of the
best cryptographic algorithms that can be used to protect electronic data.
However, the principal weakness in AES is the linearity in the s-box. The
objective of this research is to investigate and evaluate the existing work related
to the dynamic s-box. Other than that, the aim of this research is to design a
dynamic s-box using affine transformation in order to increase the security of
the encryption. The method to design is using java with the NetBeans software.
The proposed block cipher will be tested using NIST statistical test suite to test
the randomness of the algorithm. Besides, the strength of the s-box will be
analyzed using the s-box evaluation tool (set). The cryptographic strength
depends strongly on the choice of s-box. Therefore, this new proposed block
cipher can be used by countries, organizations, stakeholders, or interested
parties as one of the secure algorithms to increase the protection of the
information and also will contribute as an alternative to other cryptographic
algorithms in computer security research
