    The Existence of Behavioral Biases and Personality Traits in Explaining the Effect of Fundamental and Technical Analysis to Investment Performance in Indonesia Stock Exchange

    Rational investors focus on the fundamental and technical analysis in their investment decisions. In fundamental analysis, they consider economic conditions, industry analysis, and company analysis if they use a top-down approach, and vice versa if they use a bottom-up approach. Technical analysis focuses on the historical movement of stock price to predict the future price by using the pattern of a chart. However, in modern finance, investors are not fully rational as they are also affected by the psychological factors when making their investment decisions. These psychological factors then create behavioral biases, which becomes the basic assumption of behavioral finance This research is aimed at investigating the role of availability bias and disposition effect as behavioral biases that make investors irrational in their behaviors and whether it is supported by the Big Five Personality Traits, which include openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism (OCEAN). It needs to explore the influence of fundamental analysis and technical analysis on investment performance with the existence of behavioral biases as mediating variable and personality traits as a moderating variable between fundamental analysis and behavioral biases

    Acalypha indica (A. indica) possesses antibacterial properties and has capability to accelerate wound healing due to its active therapeutic compounds of flavonoid and alkaloid. The incorporation of A. indica extracts in polymer hydrogels is useful for wound treatment, despite the advancement in synthetic medicines and drugs. In this study, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) hydrogels with different concentrations of A. indica extract (0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 mg) were fabricated. The ATR-FTIR spectra testified the presence of A. indica in the hydrogels. More enormous spotted agglomerations were visualized on the higher concentrations of A. indica hydrogels. The A. indica hydrogels became less moisture, more hydrophobic and has low water uptake ability compared to the control hydrogel (without A. indica). The antibacterial activities of the hydrogels against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were acted in a dose-dependent manner where higher inhibition zones and higher bacterial retardations were recorded on the hydrogels with higher concentrations of A. indica. The incorporation of A. indica (1.0 - 1.5 mg/mL) has also induced cell viability, cell migration, and proliferation of the human skin fibroblasts. Therefore, optimization of the A. indica hydrogels is crucial in accommodating the bi-functional properties of antibacterial and biocompatibility for wound treatment

    Constraints of paddy production among smallholding farmers

    The study was conducted in Samarahan Division, Sarawak to identify the production constraints faced by smallholding paddy farmers. This survey was conducted in four districts in Samarahan Division. All the respondents were selected randomly from the list of the registered paddy farmers obtained from Department of Agriculture Sarawak. There were 273 respondents from four districts participating in this study. Data were collected by using questionnaire survey. The obtained data were analysed by using correlation analysis and Multiple Linear Regressions (MLR) analysis. The finding reported that only physical and technology could be concluded as significant production constraint to the paddy production. Various suggestions of management practices also have been discussed to overcome the constraints towards a more sustainable paddy production

    Multi-objective single DGPV planning in transmission system using artificial immune systems optimization technique

    In this paper, a compensation scheme to impose an acceptable transmission system voltage profile and to minimise itsactive power loss while keeping a low cost was orchestrated. Loss and voltage of a power system are significant issues as they effect the power system quality of service. The installation of DGs has shown positive impacts to reduce system loss with some sideenhancement on the system voltage. This paper analyses the effect of installing DG to reduce the transmission system loss while at the same time ensuring the system voltage is within allowable operating limit with a DG cost constrained. The Optimal DG sizes and location were determined using Artificial Immune Systems (AIS). IEEE 30-Bus reliability test system was used as the transmission testbed. The results demonstrate that an optimal single real-power DG is able to ensure that the transmission voltage can be sustained within a recommended limit and at the same time reduce the system loss with minimal DG cost, which in turns would be beneficial to the power provider

    Negative refractive index shaped lens for mobile base station

    Recently, there are rapid developments in antenna researches to fulfil the advanced mobile technology requirement including 5G technology. Narrow beam width, higher frequency, and higher gain are among the key characteristics in 5G antenna technology to serve a massive number of users, consistent interconnectivity, and higher capacity. Previously, the multi-beam operation was performed by using array antennas, however, in the 5G system, more losses due to complex feeding network is expected if the conventional array antenna is adopted. Therefore, the lens antenna is identified as one of the potential candidates to replace the current antenna structure used in the mobile base station. In this study, the characteristics of the negative refractive index shaped lens using the energy conservation law in mobile base station applications are investigated. One of the significant findings from this study is that a smaller radius and slender lens configuration can be achieved using a negative refractive index. A lens antenna with the gain of 27.55dB and narrow beam width of 7.81o is produced. This configuration is suitable for mobile base station application due to its less bulky characteristics which makes it easy to be mounted on the base station

    Edpuzzle telah digunakan sebagai platform e-pembelajaran bagi pelajar operasi perhotelan yang mengambil subjek Front Office di Kolej Komuniti Sungai Petani. Tiga objektif kajian iaitu untuk mengenal pasti i) tahap kefahaman pelajar mengenai konsep e-pembelajaran di Kolej Komuniti Sungai Petaniii) persepsi pelajar terhadap penggunaan aplikasi Edpuzzle dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran Front Officedan iii) tahap kesediaan pelajar Front Office Kolej Komuniti Sungai petani terhadap penggunaan Edpuzzle dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran. Sampel responden terdiri daripada 49 orang pelajar Operasi Perhotelan yang mengambil subjek Front Office. Soal selidik digunakan sebagai instrumen kajian untuk mengukur tahap kesediaan responden dari segi persepsi pelajar dalam menggunakan aplikasi Edpuzzle dalam pembelajaran. Berdasarkan dapatan yang diperoleh, kefahaman pelajar mengenai konsep e-pembelajaran di Kolej Komuniti Sungai Petani berada pada tahap tinggi dengan jumlah min 4.09 dan sisihan piawai 0.688. Seterusnya, persepsi pelajar terhadap penggunaan Edpuzzle dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran berada pada tahap tinggi (M=3.96) dan (SD= 0.816). Seterusnya, tahap kesediaan pelajar Front Office Kolej Komuniti Sungai Petani mengenai penggunaan Edpuzzle berada pada tahap tinggi. Kajian yang dijalankan telah membuktikan pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi Edpuzzle berjaya meningkatkan tahap kesediaan responden dalam subjek Front Office. Justeru, penggunaan platform ini diharap dapat membantu pelajar Kolej Komuniti Sungai Petani menguasai pembelajaran Front Office dengan lebih baik
