Justifying business intelligence systems adoption: A literature review on Healthcare Supply Chain Perspective
Business Intelligence (BI) systems have played an essential position in facilitating information sharing, strategic cost-cutting, and improvement in business process management through data-driven decision-making analytics. The technological enablers of Industry 4.0 have empowered the clinician to attain accurate information in formulating predictive and data-driven diagnoses based on artificial intelligence-enabled medical devices resulting in an efficient and quality clinical pathway for patients. However, there is a noticeable distinction between the hospital\u27s technological aptitude between clinician and non-clinician. The current technological capability of the hospital information system is to digitize daily business processes that could not offer intelligence reports for predicting, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making support. The compilation of past works of literature is expected to justify the need for the healthcare supply chain to adopt BI solutions that produce near real-time data in making efficient inventory management and procurement to support the clinician in delivering efficient and quality clinical pathways for patients by bringing the supplies at the right moment. Hence, a study of BI solutions in healthcare supply chain operation is achieved through a narrative overview of existing literature from papers published online. The results show that appropriate technological tools, resource competencies, and supplier management platform as the essential dimensions to support the business intelligence adoption effort. The study, therefore, not only identified the critical dimensions in facilitating BI adoption but also offer practical awareness to the healthcare policymakers to better understand the strategic need for BI systems in managing the entire hospital operations to gain a competitive advantage

The potential of carbon footprint reduction of a mid-rise residential building in Sarawak
Carbon emission is released into the atmosphere as the result of various activities due to rapid urbanisation and thus contributed to global warming and climate change. The government has taken various initiatives to reduce the impact, including from the construction industry in order to support the carbon footprint reduction of 40% as pledged by the Prime Minister. Various strategies, such as the Malaysian Carbon Reduction and Environmental Sustainability Tool (MyCREST), have been established to promote green building development in Malaysia. Recent studies suggested that the selection of sustainable materials can reduce the overall carbon emission of a building, but the cost has been identified as the main barriers. This paper aims to analyse the potential of carbon footprint reduction by using sustainable material in mid-rise residential building and subsequently to evaluate the cost implication. The impact of the conventional and the selected sustainable materials was assessed using data from the MyCREST tool while the data for cost analysis were taken from various sources of cost data such as JKR Rates online (RATOL), JKR Sarawak Schedule of Rates (SOR), and previous research. The results show that the sustainable materials such as 30% of Blast Furnace Slag (BFS) concrete mixture, Aerated Autoclaved Concrete (AAC) block, and recycled steel roof truss has the potential to reduce the carbon emission. The findings also show that sustainable materials are slightly cheaper than the conventional materials except for the AAC block and clay roof tiles. Therefore, the potential of carbon emission reduction approach by using MyCREST as a guideline tool can assist in the reduction of the environmental impact of buildings
Development of sustainable LSP-bricks using local industrial wastes
Uncontrolled infrastructure development may produce excessive
carbon emission and scarcity of natural resources. The reuse of
waste materials in general promotes material ecology and the
cradle-to-cradle concept. The utilisation of industrial waste in
the development of advanced materials promoting the extensive
research on sustainable building components. The main objective of this research is to
investigate the potential of utilising local industrial waste, Solid Waste Fly Ash (SwFA) and
Paint Sludge (PS) as target material in replacing laterite soil that is non-renewable natural
resources. Standard industrial size bricks were fabricated consist the combination of Laterite
Clay, SwFA and PS (LSP) at 50:25:25 ratios. The results for engineering and environmental
properties were within the acceptable of engineering standards and performances. This test
result suggests potential used of SwFA and Paint Sludge as substitute to clay for unfired brick.
This will certainly contribute to the recycling of SwFA and industrial sludge (Paint Sludge and
possibly others) and hence to minimise the impact of these by-product to the environment if
send to landfill. The manufacture of unfired bricks can exploit locally available waste
materials and can be used in certain applications of low load bearing situation. This research
also suggests innovation and enhanced waste management and contribution towards the
concept of green building components
The malay principal form: a study of roof decorative elements of rumah limas bumbung Perak
This research aims to identify the Malay principal form in the roof decorative elements of Rumah Limas Bumbung Perak (RLBP). Through site observation, the data is collected in the form of images and analysed using the CAQDAS (Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software) of Atlas Ti. 8. The findings of the research found that there are four Malay principal formsGunungan, Buah Guntung, Lebah Bergantung and Pohon Beringin present in the roof decorative elements of RLBP. The similarity and uniformity in the engagement of the form and its meaning is identifiable with the traditional houses of the other region which indicates a uniform understanding of the belief system and practises of the craftsmens throughout the Peninsula
A Grid-based Invisible Watermarking for .Jpeg Images Using Least Significant Bit
Internet is a one stop centre for users to download any media file such as image, audio and even videos. It is an excellent distribution system for digital media as it is inexpensive, eliminates warehousing and stock and user-friendly. However, there is an issue where user may copy or share the data illegally which eventually can increase the risk of privacy level of the media. Digital watermarking is introduced in order to solve the issue where it can provide copyright protection of the media and also to provide ownership that can be used to protect data from piracy. An efficient scheme of invisible watermarking is that it has to be able to overcome attacks on social media such in a way where when people download and crop any image from social media, the owner of the image can proof that the image is rightfully his. The loss of synchronization caused by geometrical modifications of an image, such as cropping, increases the difficulty of watermark detection, especially for invisible watermarking schemes. In this research, the Spatial Domain technique based algorithms were considered and two experiments were conducted in where one is text-based watermark embedding and another is image-based watermark embedding, The text-based watermarking method preserved the watermark after being uploaded and download to social media but decreases in terms of size of image. For the case of image-based watermark, the watermark was preserved for images with minimal colours or solid colours. It has also survived the watermark originality once being uploaded to social media
Space organization in Perak Malay Traditional House analysis of space organization on Perak Malay Traditional House
The Perak Malay Traditional houses are one of the relics that should be appreciated due to their space organization uniqueness which is not present in today\u27s modern houses. The study of the house\u27s space organization should highly be given attention for future generations to discern. The issue is there is minimal approach on appreciating the space organization and there is even no concern of its benefits if applied in the construction of modern houses today. Indeed, in an orientation before the construction of a residential house, the role of the environment including culture, way of life, especially the occupants of the residence are taken care of by a craftsman. Discussion between the host and the craftsman is an important aspect before the residence is established. Space requirements are the most in the architecture of a traditional Malay house, a space was born as a result of the activities of society, by gender requirements in addition to the comfort of concern with the residential environment. Space requirements are common in almost every traditional Malay house in Malaysia but there are differences in orientation, climate, environment and local culture that trigger the use of a space. The purpose of this study is to pass knowledge to the future generation in order to appreciate the relics house. For that, the objectives of this research is to analyse the spatial organization design and architecture of a traditional Malay house with Perak state based on the space functional diversity through research on the role of space during performance of activities. This paper employs a qualitative research adapting the observation on-surrounding and the house\u27s interior space. Besides, sketches on house spatial pattern, joinery detailing and joinery construction were some of the approaches that have been applied to obtain the data. To strengthen data acquisition, interviews with target groups like village heads or local house carpenters were made. The data were analyzed and the sketches were illustrated in diagrams to interpret the pattern of findings. The results strengthened the characteristics of the interior spatial organization for Perak house traditionally do influence the environment, society, cultural customs, beliefs and religions
