Faktor-faktor yang Memengaruhi Keputusan Petani dalam Mempertahankan Usahatani Padi di Desa Hegarmanah, Kecamatan Jatinangor, Kabupaten Sumedang

Hegarmanah Village is the largest rice producer in the Jatinangor Sub-district due to its geographical characteristics that are well-suited for rice cultivation. Despite having favorable geographical features such as suitable soil types and supportive weather, the area is not formally designated for agricultural use but rather for non-agricultural purposes. This has led to a continuous annual decline in rice field area due to land-use conversion. This study aims to identify the factors influencing farmers’ decisions to sustain rice farming amid this phenomenon. A quantitative method was employed using multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that personal, social, economic, and physical factors collectively influence farmers’ decisions to sustain rice farming in Hegarmanah Village. Partially, personal factors (farming experience and personal motivation), social factors (family tradition), economic factors (demand, costs, and income), and physical factors (climate and soil characteristics) were found to have a significant influence on the decision to continue rice farming in Hegarmanah Village

The increase in rice production in river basins (DAS) often faces challenges in the form of a decline in land quality due to land erosion and soil structure degradation that has an impact on farmers' harvests. One of the approaches that is beginning to be developed to overcome this problem is the soil bioengineering technique, which is a vegetation-based soil conservation method that aims to resist erosion and improve the physical condition of the land naturally. This research aims to: (1) analyze the cost, receipt and income of rice farming in the Tulusrejo Village Watershed, (2) analyze the comparison of costs, production and income between soil bioengineering farmers, and (3) analyze the factors of rice production and the influence of soil bioengineering on rice production, (4) analyze the elasticity of rice production. The research was carried out in Tulus Rejo Village, Pekalongan District using the cluster random sampling method on 37 rice farmers in river basins (DAS). The data was analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk, Mann-Whitney U test and the Cobb-Douglas linear regression model. The research results show that the implementation of soil bioengineering causes significant differences in total costs, production and income between the two groups of farmers. In addition, based on the regression results, it is known that the variables of land area, seeds, fertilizers and pesticides have a real effect on rice production, while soil bioengineering does not have a significant statistical effect. This finding indicates that the implementation of production inputs and the implementation of soil bioengineering techniques are effective in increasing rice production and are suitable for implementation as an environmentally friendly and sustainable land conservation strategy. The production elasticity value of 1,176 shows the condition of increasing return to scale, which means that the addition of production inputs proportionally will increase rice production output proportionally

National or regional food security does not necessarily guarantee food security at the household or individual level. Although Jember Regency was classified as a highly food-secure region in 2024 based on Food Security and Vulnerability Atlas (FSVA) data, the reality of household-level food security urgently needs to be addressed. The objective of this research was to analyze household food security conditions based on Engel's Law and Jonsson & Toole's theory. Data from Susenas 2024, analyzed using the Jonsson and Toole method, revealed that the majority of households in Jember still face food vulnerability. Specifically, only about 35.49% (427 households) fell into the food-secure category. Conversely, nearly half, 49.34% (597 households), were in the food- vulnerable category. Additionally, approximately 7.60% (92 households) experienced food scarcity, and 7.77% (94 households) were in a state of food insecurity

This study aims to identify sources of production risk in maize farming, analyze their probability and impact, and formulate appropriate handling strategies in Ketro Village, Karangrayung Subdistrict, Grobogan District. The research method used was descriptive-quantitative with a purposive sampling technique of 30 farmers. Data analysis used coefficient of variation (CV), Value at Risk (VaR), and Z-score, as well as risk mapping in four quadrants. Results showed that caterpillar infestation and heavy rainfall were the dominant risks, while plant diseases and drought were the risks with the greatest impact. A CV of 0.20 indicates relatively low risk in aggregate, but a 50% probability of loss indicates the need for mitigation. Strategies implemented by farmers are generally preventive, while mitigative and adaptive strategies are limited. This study recommends risk quadrant-based strategies to improve maize farming resilience
