    PENGARUH BERBAGAI JENIS BAHAN LITTER TERHADAP KUALITAS LITTER BROILER FASE FINISHER DI CLOSED HOUSE

    The aim of this research was to 1) determine the effect of the use of rice husk, wood shavings,rice straw as litter material on litter quality for broiler during the finisher phase in closed house, 2)determine the best type of litter material on litter quality for broiler during the finisher phase in closedhouse. The duration of the research was 26 days. The research was started from 15 April to 10 May2014 in the closed house owned by PT. Rama Jaya Lampung Krawang Sari Village, the District ofNatar,Southern Lampung regency.This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three levels oftreatment and six replications. The treatment levels were the types of litter material (i.e. rice husk,wood shavings, chopped straw and rice). The samples were 270 broilers which were divided into 18plots. Therefore, there were 15 broilers in each plot (per square meter). The data were statisticallyanalyzed using ANOVA with 5% significance level. Duncan test with 5% significance level wasconducted for further testing should the ANOVA obtained any significant results.The results showed that(1) the use of rice husk , wood shavings and rice straw as the litter materials inclosed house showed a significant effect (P <0.05) on litter moisture content, but not significantly (P>0.05) on ammonia levels, pH, and litter temperature.     The aim of this research was to know what the effect of C vitamin increament (ascorbat acid)in skim egg yolk extender to semen motility and life percentage of sperm cell. This research wasconducted in Regional Technical Service Unit-Regional Artificial Insemination Office Lampung,Terbanggi Besar District on 18 th --25 th April 2014. The treatment of this research are P1 (without Cvitamin increament), P2 (1,50 mM C vitamin increament), P3 (2,50 mM C vitamin increament), P4(3,50 mM C vitamin increament), P5 (4,50 mM C vitamin increament) in skim egg yolk extender andevery treatment repetitions for three times.     Purebred chicken egg is the most favorable egg in the society. This egg usually will be damageafter 14-days of storage. Beside of the storage duration, the internal quantity of egg has also beenaffected by quality of eggshell. The quality of eggshell include the eggshell thickness and amount ofeggshell pores. The amount of eggshell pores can be identified by means of eggshell color. The poreshave a role on the CO2 evaporation process, which give effect to the albumen index, yolk index, andegg’s pH.The purposes of the research are to know the best effect of storage duration and eggshell colorto albumen index, yolk index, and egg’s pH. This research was done on April 10-24th, 2014, usecomplete randomize block design with 2x2 of nested model. The main block is storage duration (P1: 7days and P2: 14 days) and the partial block is eggshell’s color (W1: light brown and W2: dark brown)with 5 times replication. The observed variable in this research are albumen index, yolk index, andegg’s pH. The research’s data were analyzed by using Analysis of variance test and 5% error levelDuncan test.The research result shown that storage duration and eggshell color have significant effect(P<0,05) toward albumen index, yolk index, and egg’s pH.     The experiment was determine to physiological responses of laying hens grower phases atdifferent stocking density and determine the effect of stocking density best on the physiologicalresponses of laying hens grower phases. Research carried out for 3 weeks from 2 April to 23 April2014, in Varia Agung Jaya Farm, Varia Agung Village, District of seputih Mataram, LampungTengah Regency. Chicken laying hens used were 8-10 weeks of age grower phases as much as 210.This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of four treatments, replicatedfive times, namely P1: 6 m-2 tail cage density, P2: 9 m-2 tail cage density, P3: 12 m-2 tail cage density,P4: 15 m-2 tail cage density. The resulting data were analyzed by analysis of variance at the 5%significance level.The results show that stocking density 6, 9, 12 and 15 m-2 individuals per had no significanteffect (P<0.05) on physiological responses (respiratory rate, rectal temperature and temperatureshank) chicken laying grower phases

    The objective of the research were to study potency of rice by produce and its carryingcapacity in Sukoharjo II Village Sukoharjo Sub-District Pringsewu District. This research wasconducted in may 2013 located in Sukoharjo II Village Sukoharjo Sub-District Pringsewu District.The methode of purposive sampling was used in the research. The Date used in this studyconsisted of prime and secondary date. The prime date consist of agricultural land, harvested ricearea, product of rice mill, and product of straw. Secondary date consist of information aboutagricultural potency and animal husbandry potency in Sukoharjo II Village Sukoharjo SubDistrictPringsewu District.The result of this research showed that the straw can produce 683.537,4 kg/year and ricebran 64.920 kg/year based on dry matter. The waste production of straw with range 40 % for feedand rice bran with range of 50% for feed. Sukoharjo II Village Sukoharjo Sub-District PringsewuDistrict can produce 752.957,4/kg/th waste of rice.     The increase of population in Indonesia has caused farmland increasingly narrow. In contrast, the more limited availability of green feed and causing feed prices continue to rise every year.  Therefore, alternative feed resources needed are cheap, readily available, abundant in nature and highly nutritious.  Expected to be sufficient alternative feed feed shortages due to narrowing of agricultural land and reduce production costs.  This study aims to determine the elemental content of Ca, P, Mg and Zn in plant parts Kiambang (Salvinia molesta).  This research was conducted at the Batu Tegi Dam Tanggamus Lampung regency and Animal Nutrition Laboratory Department of Dairy and Nutrition Faculty of Animal Science, Bogor Agricultural University.  This research used Completely Randomized Design 5 treatments with 2 replications. Treatment consists of young leaves, old leaves, old roots, young roots and whole plants Kiambang.  The data obtained in this study were analyzed on a variety of real level of 5% and 1% Test, BNT used as a means of comparison between treatments in the real level of 5%.  The results showed that.  (1) Kiambang contain elements Ca, P and Zn in the roots of the old site, while the largest element Mg on older leaves.  (2) Kiambang (Salvinia molesta) has potential as a source of essential minerals (Ca, Mg and Zn) for organic ruminants.   Keywords: Kiambang, mineral, Batu Tegi Da

    PENGARUH UMUR TELUR TETAS PERSILANGAN ITIK TEGAL DAN MOJOSARI DENGAN PENETASAN KOMBINASI TERHADAP FERTILITAS DAN DAYA

    Hatchery can be done naturally and artificially and or by combining both of the ways. In hatchery,hatch egg age is one of factors which influences fertility, hatchability, hatch loss, and hatchweight. The aims of this study were: 1) to know the effect of hatched egg age of tegal andmojosari duck crossing with combination hatching on fertility, hatch loss, hatchability, and hatchweight; 2) to know the best hatched egg age of hatched egg of tegal and mojosari duck crossingwith combination hatching on fertility, hatch loss, hatchability, and hatch weight. This study usedCompletely Randomized Design with three treatments of hatched egg age (1, 4, and 7 days) and 6replications. The result of this study showed that hatched egg age was significantly different(P<0,05) on hatched egg age (1, 4, and 7 days) and not significantly different (P>0,05) on hatchloss, hatchability, and hatch weight. The the best fertility of hatched egg of 1 day old was 93,75%,even the hatched egg of 4 days old was 83,33%, and the hatched egg of 7 days old was 72,92%

    PERBANDINGAN FERTILITAS SERTA SUSUT, DAYA DAN BOBOT TETAS AYAM KAMPUNG PADA PENETASAN KOMBINASI

    Hatching chicken eggs can be grouped into three ways namely hatching naturally with the help of wild duck, artificial hatching machine, and a combination of natural and artificial means. Hatching allegedly using a combination of ways to improve hatchability chicken. The purpose of this study was to determine the combination of chicken egg hatching process better by fertility and shrinkage, power, and weight of hatching. This study using student t-test on the real level of 5% with 2 treatments namely P1 (7 days incubation at parent wild duck and then proceed to the hatching machine) and P2 (10 days incubation at parent wild duck and then proceed to the hatching machine). Each treatment consists of 20 units and each experimental trial consisted of 5 eggs. Incubation at parent entok for 7 days and then proceed to the hatching machine indicates fertility and hatchability better (P <0,05) compared with the parent wild duck incubation for 10 days, but the effect was not significant (P> 0,05) against shrinkage and weight hatching.     The production of rice bran in Indonesia was 4 million ton in 2011. This big potency of rice bran hasn’t been optimally used yet as animal feedstuff, because the rice bran has short storage limit. The rice bran can’t be stored in long time because the fat content of the rice bran experiences the hydrolysis reaction easily that causes rancidity. The hydrolysis reaction happens because the reaction of fat and water content. Therefore, the water content of the rice bran must be decreased to prevent the hydrolysis reaction. The charcoal is hygroscopis, namely can absorb water, so that the use of charcoal in storage expected to be able in decreasing the water content and preventing the the hydrolysis reaction on the fat of the rice bran. This research aims to find out the effect of the use of wood and coconut shell charcoal on the organoleptic quality of colour, smell, texture, the water content, rancidity, and the fat of the rice bran stored for 4 weeks. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments. Each treatment was replicated 4 times. If the result of variance analysis is significantly different on a variable, so it’s continued by using Least Significant Different (LSD) Test on significant level 5% and 1%. The result showed that the use of the coconut shell charcoal influenced very significantly (p<1%) on the smell, water content, peroxide number of the rice bran stored for 4 weeks. The wood charcoal influenced very significantly (p<1%) on the water content and influenced significantly (p<5%) on the peroxide number. Key Word : peroxide number, rancidity, rice bran
