    POTENSI HIJAUAN SEBAGAI PAKAN RUMINANSIA DI KECAMATAN BUMI AGUNG KABUPATEN LAMPUNG TIMUR

    This study aimed to determine the forage production in agriculture field and plantantion based on theplanting extensive and to determine the capacity of animal in Bumi Agung District East LampungRegency.This study was conducted in January 2014 in Bumi Agung District East Lampung Regency. Thisstudy used survey method. The method used was method of purposive sampling. Study consisted ofprimary and secondary data. The primary data included all information about agriculture field,harvest extensive, forage production, forage waste produced, and processing of waste fromagriculture and plantation. The secondary data included information about potency of agriculture,plantation, and animal husbandry in Bumi Agung DistrictThe result of this study showed that the forage production based on dry matter as much as34.858.257,94 kg/year have the capacity of cattle as much as 10.611,34 AU and for goats as much as9.095,44 AU. The population of ruminants in Bumi Agung District in 2013 were 865 cattles and2.083 goats. If it was counted from the forage of the whole potency existed, so it could add 9.746cattles and 49.087 goats

    PENGARUH PEMBERIAN KONSENTRAT DAN ZEOLIT BERAMONIUM PADA RANSUM TERHADAP PERTAMBAHAN BOBOT TUBUH KAMBING BOERAWA

    This study aimed to determine the effect of concentrate and amonium zeolite supplementation inration to the body weight gain of Boerawa goats. Fifteen Boerawa goats of 6—7 months old, withaverage initial body weight of 15,11 ± 4,44 kg/goat, were used in this experiment. This study usedRandomized Block Design with 3 treatments. The treatments were R0: ration of farmers, R1:ration of farmers 30% + concentrate 70%, and R2: R1 + amoniated zeolite 5% of ration dry matterof R1 with five replications. The water during this experiment was given ad libitum. The result ofthis study showed that the treatments of addition of concentrate without zeolite amoniated (R1)and addition of concentrate and zeolite amoniated R2 increased the body weight gain (P<0,05)compared with the treatments only addition of silage of cassava trunk and leaves (R0). However,the treatment of R2 showed the same result with R1 on the value of the body weight gain (P>0,05)of Boerawa goats. Besides, on the treatment R1 and R2 decreased the consumption of rude proteincompared with only R0 (P<0,01). However, on the treatment of R2 and R1 could increase theratio of protein efficiency which caused the increase of body weight heavier compared with R0 ofBoerawa goats (P<0,01)

    Kiambang (Salvinia molesta) is the weed in Batutegi Dam which its existence andcomposition have potential to be animal feed stuff. Information of crude fiber content, especiallyNDF and lignin of Kiambang in Batutegi Dam is still unknown. This study aimed to: (1)determine the difference of crude fiber content, namely are NDF and lignin in the whole plant,young leaves, young root, old leaves, and old root, (2) determine the highest and the lowest crudefiber content of Kiambang whole plant, young leaves, young root, old leaves, and old root. Thisstudy was held in April – June 2012, located in Batutegi Dam Tanggamus District and Laboratoryof Animal Research Office Ciawi Bogor West Java. This study used descriftive methods with fivetreatments (namely were whole plant, young leaves, young root, old leaves, and old root) and tworeplications. The study result of analysis van soest showed that the highest NDF content was in thepart of Kiambang whole plant, 77.56%, and the lowest contents were in the old root and trunk, asmuch as 68.40%. The highest lignin contents were in the Kiambang old root and trunk, 25.38%,and the lowest content was in the young leaves, 16.62%

    This study aims to: (1) determine the effect of the addition of concentrates with different levels of crude protein in the basal ration for goats Boerawa past-weaning dry matter and organic digestibility and (2) to the addition of the best concentrates on past-weaning dry matter and organic digestibility Boerawa goats. This research used randomized block design, consisting of four treatments, with repeated five times, they are R0: bassal feeding, R1: bassal feeding + concentrate (Crude Protein 13%), R2: bassal feeding + concentrate (CP 16%), and R3: bassal feeding + concentrate (CP 19%). The results shows a significant effect (P <0.05) additions concentrates on bassal feeding to organic matter digestibility Boerawa goats pasca-weaning, the opposite effect was not significant (P>0.05) protein digestibility and crude fiber

    The study aimed to know the production of waste of rice straw and cassava leaves and the carrying capacity of cattlein Sidomukti Village, Tanjung Sari Sub-District, South Lampung District based on the potency of waste of ricestraw and cassava leaves.This study was conducted in May until September 2013 located in Sidomukti Village, Tanjung Sari Sub-District,South Lampung District. The study used survey methode of purposeive sampling. Data used in this study consistedof primer and secondary data. The analysis of water value was done in Laboratory of Nutrition and AnimalFeedstuff Animal Husbandry Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung.The result of this study showed that the wide of rice and cassava field in Sidomukti Village the forage waste as widewas 43 ha and 116 ha. Totally as much as 469.669,81 kg/year (46,96) ton/year for dry matter and protein as27.511,677 kg/th (2,75 ton/th).     The main problem in developing of ruminant production in Indonesia is the difficulty in fulfillingthe availability of feed continually, either the quality or the quantity. The abundant pineappleleaves are potensial to be feed stuff. However, the crude fiber content of pineapple leaves is high.Therefore, the pineapple leaves will be fermented by day treatment to reduce the high crude fibercontent. The aimed of the study to determine the effect of the best fermentation duration and todetermine the effect of Trametes sp. on dry metter, ash content, and crude fiber content ofpineapple leaves of Smooth cayene variety.This study was done in the Laboratory of Animal Feed, Department of Animal Husbandry, Facultyof Agriculture, University of Lampung. The treatments were arranged by using CompletelyRandomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and four replications. The treatment consisted ofstorage during 0 day, 2 days, 4 days, 6 days. The dates of observation was analyzed by usingvariance analysis with significant level of 5% and or 1%. The polynomial orthogonal was usedafter the variance analysis showed the significant result.The result of this study showed that the treatment of storage duration of 0 day, 2 days, 4 days, 6days were significantly different (P<0,01) on dry matter content, ash content, and crude fibercontent. The duration of Trametes sp. Fermentation was significantly different to the content ofdry matter, crude fiber, ash. Longer duration of fermentation, more decrease the content of drymatter, crude fiber, and ash. According to the regresion equality of dry matter Y=12,11-0,61x(R2=0,84, r=0,92), crude fiber content Y=26,08-1,81x (R2=0,69, r=0,83), and ash content Y=7,39-0,47x (R2=0,73, r=0,85)

    PENGARUH PEMBERIAN KUNYIT DAN TEMULAWAK MELALUI AIR MINUM TERHADAP GAMBARAN DARAH PADA BROILER

    This study aimed to determine the effect of tumeric and curcumin on the amount of erythrocytes,leucocytes, and haemoglobin level in the broilers. This study was conducted from Frebruary –March 2013, in the unit of trial poultry house of Rama Jaya Lampung, located in Fajar Baru IIVillage, Jati Agung District, South Lampung. 180 Broilers strain Cobb were used in this study.This study consisted of three treatments, P0: usual drinking water; P1: tumeric boiled water 10g/600 ml; and P2: curcumin boiled water 10 g/600 ml. Each treatment consisted of 6 replicationswith 10 broilers for each replication. 1 broiler was taken from each block of 18 cage blocks forbeing a sample. Then, data obtained were variance analyzed by using significant level of 5% . Ifsignificant result was obtained on the variance analysis, Least Significantly Different Test wascontinued on the significant level of 5% (Steel dan Torrie, 1993).The result of this study showed that tumeric and curcumin were not significantly different(P>0,05) on the amount of erythrocytes, leucocytes, and haemoglobin level. The average of theamount of erythrocytes were P0 (1.128.333/mm3), P1 (1.440.000/mm3), dan P2 (1.386.667/mm3).The average of the amount of leucocytes were P0 (7.767/mm3), P1 (7.792/mm3), dan P2(7.908/mm3). The average of haemoglobin level were P0 (7,6 g/100ml), P1 (8,5 g/100ml), dan P2(8,5 g/100ml). On the treatments given with tumeric and curcumin, they had higher average oferythrocytes, leucocytes, and haemoglobin level than the one without treatments

    This research aimed to study the effect level of supplementation of hydrolyzed feather and mineralorganic on cattle. The experiment was applied in latin square design with three treatment and threereplication. The treatments which consisted a: R0= basal ration, R1=basal ration +3% hydrolyzedfeather, R2=R1+ macro organic minerals (Ca-organic 0,5%, Mg-organic 0,04) and micro mineralsorganic (Zn-organic 40 ppm, Cu-organic 10 ppm, Se-organic 0,10 ppm and Cr-organic 0,30 ppm).Analysis of variance, and countinues with least significant different test at level (P>0,05). The resultshowed that hydrolyzed feather and combination of mineral organic, the data where had no effectingto digestibility of dry matter and organic matter on cattle

    This study aimed to compare the populations of fungi and HCN levels in cassava waste drying on thesoil and cement floors. Implementation of the research conducted at September-October. Cassavawaste sample have from East Lampung and Center Lampung. Populations of fungi analysis inLaboratory of Microbiology, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences,Lampung University. HCN levels analysis in Laboratory and Nutrition, Department of AnimalHusbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Lampung University. This study used a survey method. Thesampling technique using non-probability samples by purposive sampling. Data populations of fungiare transformed using log x, then data population of fungi and HCN levels were analyzed usingstudent's t-test at 5% significance level.Average populations of fungi in cassava waste drying on the ground is 113.71 103 cfu/gr and thecement floor is 77.60 103 cfu/gr. Average HCN levels in cassava waste drying on the ground is 94.31ppm and cement floor is 77.56 ppm. The results showed that the populations of fungi and HCN levelsin cassava waste with drying on the ground and the cement floor was non significant differences(P>0.05)

    Egg are nutrient-rich livestock products and are needed by the body as a source of protein, fat, andminerals are cheap and affordable for all people. However, the egg is a perishable farm products. Thesecond phase of broiler production was 42--72 weeks to produce eggs which have a large surface area,thin shell, causing release CO2 and H2O through the pores for fast storage, so that the rate of decline ininternal egg quality the faster.The purpose of this study are (1) determine the effect of egg storage time on the internal quality ofeggs and (2) determine the best long shelf against internal quality egg production in the secondphase.This research was carried out on September 25--October 9, 2013 housed in the LaboratoryAnimal Production and Reproduction, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture,University of Lampung. This study use a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments eggstorage time for 1,5, 10, and 15 days. The data obtained were tested in accordance with theassumption of variance. If there was a real variable Duncan test at 5% significance level.The results of this study showed that treatment of egg storage significant effect (P<0,05) on eggweight, HU impairment, an increase in the pH of the egg, and egg yolk color score. Storage time forfive day the best effect on egg weight is lowest at 1,4% and the value of Haugh Units (HU) of 55,4(quality B) compared to the old 10 and 15 days of storage
