STUDI KARAKTERISTIK DAN UKURAN TUBUH ANTARA KAMBING JANTAN BOERAWA G1 DAN G2 PADA MASA DEWASA TUBUH DI DESA CAMPANG KECAMATAN GISTING KABUPATEN TANGGAMUS
This research was conducted using a survey method in Campang Vilage, District Gisting, Tanggamus conducted inJune 2012. Parameters observed in this study that the characteristic of livestock (hair color, face shape and earlength) and body size (body weight, chest circumference, body length and shoulder height).Goat Boerawa G1 andG2 samples each 60 tail. Qualitative data on the characteristic analyzed with descriptive analyzed, while quantitativedata were analyzed by T-test to determine the difference between G1 and G2 of each variable. Result of this studyindicate that the shape of the face goat G2 Boerawa flat and thick. The average length of ear G1 and G2 21,13 cm19,65 cm. Chest girth, body length and body weight Boerawa male goat G2 greater than G1: average chestcircumference 78,15> <71,97 cm body length of 66,14> <63,90cm; weight 41,45> <34,85 kg, while the shoulderheight G2 is lower than G1 the 65,77> <71,16cm
ANALISIS KUALITAS SEMEN BEKU SAPI SIMMENTAL MENGGUNAKAN PENGENCER ANDROMED® DENGAN VARIASI WAKTU PRE FREEZING
The goals of research was to know the effect of pre freezing time to the frozen semen quality ofSimmental and the best time of pre freezing that can preserve the frozen semen quality of Simmental.This study was conducted in Regional Technical Service Unit - Regional Artificial InseminationOffice Lampung, Terbanggi Besar District, Central Lampung Regency, Lampung Province on 7th –13th April 2014. The completely randomized design was used in this research with 5 treatments (5minutes; 6 minutes; 7 minutes; 8 minutes; 9 minutes) and 4 times of replication. The data wereanalyzed using analysis of variance and then continued with orthogonal polynomial test.The results showed that the time of pre freezing did not affect significantly (P> 0.05) on thepercentage of sperm motility and the percentage of life sperm after pre freezing, but the effect wassignificant (P <0.01) on the percentage of sperm motility and percentage of life sperm post thawing.Orthogonal polynomial test showed that the effect of pre- freezing time on the percentage of spermmotility and percentage of life sperm after thawing had linear pattern with each equation those were Y= -28,88+7,38X and Y = -24,97+8,09X. Pre freezing for 9 minutes was able to show the percentage ofsperm motility and percentage of life sperm after thawing better than the pre freezing for 5 − 8minutes
PROFIL TITER ANTIBODI Newcastle Disease (ND) dan Avian Influenza (AI) PADA ITIK PETELUR FASE GROWER DI KECAMATAN GADINGREJO KABUPATEN PRINGSEWU
This study aimed to determine the antibody titre against Newcastle Disease (ND) and AvianInfluenza (AI) in laying duck of grower phase. This study has been conducted in December 2013--January 2014 in Gadingrejo Subdistrict, Pringsewu District, Lampung Province. The method used inthis study were survey method and sample collecting by method of purposive sampling. The variableobserved was the antibody titre against Newcastle Disease and Avian Influenza. The data analysisused in this study was descriptive analysis. Based on the result of Hemaglutination Inhibition (HI) onAvian Influenza in laying duck of grower phase in Gadingrejo Subdistrict, there were 33% ducks thatshowed seropositive result on AI with the score of 21, 23, 26, 27, 25 and there were 67% ducks showedseronegative. Based on the result of HI test of Newcastle Disease in laying duck of grower phase inGadingrejo Subdistrict that showed seropositive result 19% with the titre score of 23, 24 and 81%ducks showed seronegative. The level of uniformity on AI was granted the score of 33% and the levelof uniformity on ND was 19%
PENGARUH IMBANGAN HIJAUAN BERBANDING KONSENTRAT TERHADAP KECERNAAN BAHAN KERING, KECERNAAN BAHAN ORGANIK DAN KECERNAAN PROTEIN PADA KAMBING PE JANTAN DI LINGKUNGAN PANAS
This research aims to find out the influence of equilibration forage comparing concentrates to drydigestibility, organic digestibility and protein digestibility on male PE goat in the heatenvironment. Goats that were used as the sample were 3 male PE goast with body weight range(20.5 to 26.7 kg). This research used draft Longitude Cage Latin (RBSL), consisted of threetreatments (three periods), R1: 85% forage: 15% concentrate, R2: 70% forage: concentrate 30%,and R3: 55% forage: concentrate 45% . The water during the research is given by ad libitum. Theresults showed that: the equilibration forage comparing concentrates was not significant (P> 0.05)on dry digestibility, organic digestibility and protein digestibility
SURVEI SIFAT FISIK DAN KANDUNGAN NUTRIEN ONGGOK TERHADAP METODE PENGERINGAN YANG BERBEDA DI DUA KABUPATEN PROVINSI LAMPUNG
Cassava into industrial waste which is generated in the form of wet tapioca . Utilization of cassava asanimal feed , usually first dried . The drying process can be done on the cement floor and on theground . The differences in the drying potential to provide different quality of nutrients .This study aimed to compare the nutritional composition and physical properties of the drying cassavaon the ground and the cement floor , and to know the method of drying on the ground or on a cementfloor the better the nutritional composition and physical properties of the onggok.Pelaksanaanresearch conducted at the Laboratory of Nutrition and Animal Feed Animal Husbandry Department ofthe Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung . This study uses data obtained will be analyzedusing Student's t-test at the 5% significance level.The results showed that : ( 1 ) there is a significant difference ( P > 0.05 ) in ash content, BETN levels; ( 2 ) there is no significant difference ( P < 0.05 ) in moisture content, protein content, fat content,and crude fiber
SELEKSI INDUK KAMBING PERANAKAN ETAWAH BERDASARKAN NILAI INDEKS PRODUKTIVTAS INDUKPADA BOBOT SAPIH DI DESA DADAPAN KECAMATAN SUMBEREJO KABUPATEN TANGGAMUS
Doe productivity index (DPI) on wean weight refers to doe capability to wean kid in specificweight per year. So it’s parameter could be used as selection tool to find the best doe as maternalresource. On that purpose, record of 30 PE doe in Dadapan Village, Sumberejo SubdistrictTanggamus Municipal, Lampung Province, were evaluated to determine doe productivity index.Evaluation were done in October-November 2013, which are included data ; Doe age. Kid bornweight, Type of offcpring, and corrected weaning weight. Parameters involved are: average weanweight (AWW), most probable producing ability (MPPA), reproduction efficiency (RE), and doeproductivity index (DPI), respectively.Data calculation show that AWW (kg), MPPA (kg), RE (%), and DPI (kg) are: 22,75±1,94 kg;22,75±0,15 kg; 94,78±8,80%, and 21,56±1,97 kg, respectively. On the other side, the best five DPIwere resulted by doe Q1 (26,66 kg), H1 (26,52 kg), O2 (24,23 kg), J1 (24,06 kg), and A1 (24,03kg). Based on the result, it concluded that those five doe could be used as main maternal resources inDadapan Village, Sumberejo Subdistrict Tanggamus Municipal, Lampung Province

KUALITAS FISIK DAGING SAPI DARI TEMPAT PEMOTONGAN HEWAN DI BANDAR LAMPUNG
The research was conducted in April 2014 in slaughterhouses in Bandar Lampung. This studyaims to determine the physical quality of the beef that is in Bandar Lampung by pH, water holdingcapacity and cooking loss. The meat is taken from the back of the thigh meat obtained fromslaughterhouses in Bandar Lampung. This study uses survey were analyzed descriptively.The results showed that the physical quality of the beef that is in Bandar Lampung is stillwithin the normal range. Average pH of 6.0, while the average value of 30.14 water holding capacity,and the average value of 42.53 cooking shrinkage. Based on these results it can be concluded that(1)the physical quality of the beef slaughtering place is normal and (2)good to eat
SELEKSI INDUK KAMBING BOERAWA BERDASARKAN NILAI PEMULIAAN BOBOT SAPIH DI KECAMATAN GISTING KABUPATEN TANGGAMUS
Breeding Value (BV) is an evaluation of the quality of animal genetics for a certain character which isgiven relatively based on it’s position in population. This study aimed to determine the value ofweaning weight, heritability, ripitability, and BV of each individu of Boerawa goat, and to determinethe females which had the highest BV of weaning weight.The study was held in February-March 2013 in District of Gisting, Regency of Tanggamus. Themethod used in this study was survey method with 40 samples of parentstock which had record ofbreeding age at birth, pedigree of males, and goatling of female samples which had recording of birthweight, type of birth, type of maintenance, and weaning weight of the first and the second birth.Heritability was counted based on method of step brother of 1 father and ripitability was counted basedon method of corelation of interclass.Based on the study result, the averages of corrected weaning weight, value of heritability, andripitability of weaning weight, and BV of Boerawa goat in a row were 25,706±1,908 kg; 0,072±0,006(lowest category); 0,335 (medium category); 26,273±0,205 kg. Besides, there were 22 (55%) of 40Boerawa goat parentstock which had BV above the average. There were 5 parentstock with the highestBV of weaning weight, they were female goat parentstock with codes O1 (26,273), F1 (26,179), D2(25,955), H3 (25,934), and R2 (25,902)
PENGARUH UMUR INDUK TERHADAP FERTILITAS, SUSUT TETAS, DAYA TETAS, DAN BOBOT TETAS TELUR KALKUN
Turkey meat has a high protein and low fat when compared with some other animal meat.Breeding companies commonly use hen age variation to maintain the availability of seed, hen agevariations lead to differences in performance hatching (fertility, weight loss, hatchability, andhatching weight). This study aims to: (1) determine the effect of hen age on fertility, weight loss,hatchability, and hatching weight of turkeys egg, (2) determine the best hen age of the on fertility,weight loss, hatchability, and hatching weight of turkeys egg. Research was conducted on March1 to April 12, 2013, held at the Mitra Alam Ranch Turkeys Partners Sukoharjo 1, DistrictSukoharjo, Pringsewu District. Eggs used are turkey eggs as much as 72 points. This research usedCompletely Randomized Design (CRD), with three treatments, namely P1 (egg from 9 months ofhen age), P2 (egg from11 months of hen age), and P3 (egg from 13 months of hen age). Thetreatment was repeated 6 times, and each experiment each unit consists of 4 eggs. Results of thisstudy showed that hen age was not a real is different (P> 0.05) on fertility, weight loss, andhatchability. However, the hen age showed significant differences (P <0.05) on hatching weight,and 13 month of hen age treatment gives the best effect on hatching weight
