    The research aimed to determine the effect of parities on the percentage of estrous and conception of OngoleOffspring after estrous synchronization using prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α). The research was held in November2012until February 2013, located in Punggur District, Central Lampung Regency, Lampung Province.This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and four replications. Thetreatments were Ongole Offspring heifers (P0); Ongole Offspring which have calved once (P1); and OngoleOffspring which have calved twice (P2). Data of percentage of estrous and conception was analyzed by using Chisquareon level of 5%.The result of the Chi-square analysis showed that parity was not significantly different (P>0,05) to the percentage ofestrous and conception of Ongole Offspring. The estrous percentage of Ongole Offspring was 100%. The conceptionpercentages of Ongole Offspring on P0, P1, and P2 in a row were 25%, 0%, and 25%

    The objective of this research is to know the influence of using turmeric and curcuma toward antibody titer AvianInfluenza (AI), Infectious Bursal Desease (IBD), and Newcastle Desease (ND) at broiler. This research isimplemented from February--March 2013 at PT. Rama Jaya Lampung experiments shed in Fajar Baru II village, JatiAgung Sub-district, South Lampung regency. The chicken that used is broiler rooster strain Cobb as much as 180head. This research is implemented by using Complete Random Design (CRD) with three treatment and sixrepetition. The treatment that used is regular water (P0); turmeric stew water 10 g/600 ml (P1); and curcuma stewwater 10 g/600 ml (P2). Taking of blood sample is implemented as much as 20% from total unit experiment. Thedata from this research is tested by using descriptive test. The mean of antibody titer Avian Influenza that producedafter 20 days vaccination is P0 (0,33 log 2), P1 (0,17 log 2), and P2 (0, 17 log 2). The mean of antibody titerInfectious Bursal Desease that produced after 15 days vaccination is P0 (6.400,92), P1 (4.391,43), and P2(5.098,50). The mean of antibody titer Newcastle Desease that produced after 20 days vaccination is P0 (4,42 log 2),P1 (4,42 log 2), and (5,00 log 2). The result of this research shows that by giving turmeric stew water have notpositive influence toward antibody titer Avian Influenza, Infectious Bursal Desease, and Newcastle Desease (P1lower than P0), meanwhile by giving curcuma have not positive influence toward antibody titer Avian Influenza andInfectious Bursal Desease (P2 lower than P0), but have positive influence toward antibody titer Newcastle Desease(P2 higher than P0)

    Lampung Province as a livestock area resulted in needed for food supplies that available onfollow throughout the years, so the attempted of feed based on agriculture waste industry, one of themis pineapple leaves. However, the pineapple leaves in a fresh condition have a high crude fiber contentand low protein content. Therefore, the pineapple leaves will be ammoniateed with urea addition atdifferent dosages in order to lessen the high fiber content. This study aimed to determine the effect ofurea and the best dosage on ammoniation of pineapple leaves of Smooth cayene variety onorganoleptic (color, texture, smell), dry matter, ash, and crude fiber content.This study was held in the Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Feed, Department of AnimalHusbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Lampung University and pineapple leaves samples obtained fromPT Great Giant Pineapple, Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung. The treatments using a CompletelyRandomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatments consist of ureaaddition at a dosage of 0%; 1,5%; 3% and 4,5%. The observation data were analyzed by usingvariance analysis with significant level of 5% and or 1%, and will be followed by the Least SignificantDifference test (LSD) if the value of the variance analysis showed the significant result.The results of this study showed that urea addition at different dossages had no significant effect(P>0,05) on organoleptic (color, texture, smell) and crude fiber content of pineapple leaves, butsignificantly (P<0,05) to the ash content and was highly significant (P<0,01) to the dry matter.     PENGARUH JARAK STRAW DENGAN NITROGEN CAIR PADA PROSES PRE FREEZING TERHADAP KUALITAS SEMEN BEKU SAPI LIMOUSIN

    This study aimed to determine the effect of straw space with liquid nitrogen on pre freezingprocess and the best straw space to the quality of frozen semen of Limousin Cows so that they areappropriate for Artificial Insemination process. This study was conducted in Regional TechnicalService Unit-Regional Artificial Insemination Office Lampung, Terbanggi Besar District, CentralLampung Regency, Lampung Province on 7th—13 th April 2014. The Completely RandomizedDesign (CRD) was used is these research with five treatments of straw spaces, 2 cm, 4 cm, 6 cm, 8cm, and 10 cm, with 4 replications. The data obtained was analyzed by using variance analysisandcontinued by Polinomial Ortogonal test.The result of this study showed that the straw space was significantly (P<0,01) to the motilityand live spermatozoa after thawing. However it was not significantly (P>0,05) to the motility and livespermatozoa after pre freezing. Polinomial Ortogonal test, obtained that the straw space wassignificantly (P<0,01) to the motility and live spermatozoa after thawing, had quadratic pattern withequation of Y = - 6,50 + 12,09x – 0,89x2 ; R2 = 41,3%, with the best effect on the straw space of 6 cm,that is 34%. Besides, the straw space was also different (P<0,01) to percentage of live spermatozoaafter thawing, had quadratic pattern with equation of Y = 8,97 + 8,81x - 0,64x2 ; R2 = 41,3%, withthe best effect on the straw space of 6 cm, that is 38,79%

    PENGARUH SUHU DAN LAMA THAWING DI DATARAN TINGGI TERHADAP KUALITAS SEMEN BEKU SAPI BRAHMAN

    The aim of this research was to determine the lest temperature and durations of thawing athigh altitudes in frozen semen of Brahman bull. This research conducted in 8-27 March 2014. Thisresearch was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3x3 factorial. The firstfactorial is temperature (34oC, 37oC, and 40oC) and second factorial is thawing durations with 3replications. Variables were deserved in this researchs the percentage of alive sperm and spermmotility. Research data was analyzed by Anova and Duncan test at 5%.The result showed that the temperatures and thawing durations influence the quality ofBrahman bull frozen semen, but has no interaction between them. Of this this research, the bestquality of spermatozoa obtained at 40oC and the 20 second duration of thawing has the highest qualityaverage among the other treatments. Motility of spermatozoa at 40oC is 33,89% and thawing durationat 20 second is 35,56%, the percentage of alive sperm at 40oC is 37,04% and the duration of thawingat 20 second is 35,43%

    This study of the influential factors of conception rate on cattle after estrous synchronization inPringsewu Regency was held in November 2012–February 2013. This study used 278 cattlesowned by 229 breeders. This study aimed to determine the factors and factor number whichinfluenced to the conception rate after estrous synchronization in Pringsewu Regency, Province ofLampung. The method used in this study was method of census. The data analysis used in thisstudy was analysis of regression. Before doing the data analysis, coding of data of inseminatorsand breeders was done to make the analysis easier, and then being analysed on program of SPSS(Statistics Packet for Social Science). The result of this study showed that the conception rate ofbeef cattles after estrous synchronization in Pringsewu Regency was 69,42%, including in goodcategory. The factors which influenced the conception rate and associated positively were thefrequency of giving pasturage with the factor number of 3, 386, the amount of giving pasturagewith the factor number of 0,196, the shape of stable walls with the factor number of 10,371, thegiving concentrate with the factor number of 4,011, the knowledge of estrous and inseminationwith the factor number of 7,579, while associated negatively were giving water to a large numberof factors 0,181, and the knowledge of hereditary breeding with the factor number of 3,707

    The experiment was conducted for 1 mounth from 27th August to 26th September 2012, in the village of Campang, District Gisting, Regency of Tanggamus. Goats are used is pasca-weaning Boerawa goat as many as 20 goats with an average initial weight of 18,25 ± 6,13 kg/goats. This research used randomized block design, consisting of four treatments, with repeated five times, they are R0: bassal feeding, R1: bassal feeding + concentrate (Crude Protein 13%), R2: bassal feeding + concentrate (CP 16%), and R3: bassal feeding + concentrate (CP 19%). The results shows: (1) a significant effect (P <0.05) additions concentrates on bassal feeding to organic matter digestibility Boerawa goats pasca-weaning, the opposite effect was not significant (P>0.05) for dry matter digestibility, and (2) the best effect of the addition of concentrates in the bassal feeding to organic matter digestibility

    The aim of this research was to know kind of carbohydrate as energy sources in skim egg yolkextender. This study was conducted on April 11th --18 th 2014 at Regional Technical Service Unit-Regional Artificial Insemination Office Lampung, Terbanggi Besar District, Central LampungRegency, Lampung Province.The Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was used in these researchwith three treatments and three repetitions. The treatment consist of P1 (glucose supplementation 2%),P2 ( fructose supplementation 2%) and P3 (sucrose supplementation 2%). The data obtained wasanalyzed by using variance analysis 5%.Results of this research showed that there was no significantly (P>0.05) between provision of glucose,fructose although sucrose that added in each skim egg yolk extender towards the motility of spermcells and life percentage

    The use of curcuma and turmeric into rations as additives is expected to increase uprationsefficiencywith the resultthat increasing the growth rate of the quail. The use of curcuma andturmeric to the rations in the hope to improve the quality quail meat. This research used CompletelyRandomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 6 replications. Each repeat consists of 5 pieces ofquail as a test unit. Treatment given in the form of a commercial ration (HI - PRO) added readyproducts of curcuma, turmeric, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids mixture. Treatments consisted ofconduct P1 (Rations = commercial rations + 0.0 %of curcuma and turmeric powder), P2 = commercialrations+ 1.0 % thecurcuma and turmericpowder) and P3 = commercial rations+ 2.0 % the curcumaand turmericpowder). Data was analyzed on the variance of the 5 % significantly, when there aresignificant differences, stated by orthogonal polynomial test. Variables observed are cooking loss, driploss and meat rotting test.The results showed that the granting of curcuma and turmeric in level 0.0; 0.1; and 2.0 % inthe commercial rations no significant (P > 0.05) for cooking loss and drip loss male quail meat.Conditions quail meat after 12 hourscutting all in a state of decay

    This study aimed to determine the effect of the use of turmeric and ginger in the drink water onphysiological responses broiler and determine the best treatment of the physiological responsesbroiler. The experiment was conducted in February -- March 2013 in the experimental cagesowned by PT. Rama Jaya Lampung is located in the village of Fajar Baru II, Jati Agung District,South Lampung Regency. Chickens used were as many as 180 Cobb broiler strain tail. Thisresearch was conducted using Completely Randomized Design with three treatments and sixreplications. The treatment given in this research is T0 : normal drink water; T1 : turmeric boiledwater 10 g/600 ml, and T2 : ginger boiled water 10 g/600 ml. Physiological responses samplingperformed 10 % of the number of experimental units. Then the data were analyzed using a rangeof 5% significance level and atau1% (Steel and Torrie, 1993). Variables measured wererespiratory rate, heart rate, and rectal temperature. Based on the results of this study thatadministration of turmeric and ginger on broiler aged 16 and 24 days did not significantly affectrespiratory rate, heart rate, and rectal temperature
