    STATUS GIZI KAMBING KACANG DI KECAMATAN TANJUNG BINTANG KABUPATEN LAMPUNG SELATAN

    This study was conducted in December 2014 in Tanjung Bintang District South Lampung Regency. This study aimed to determine the nutritional status of kacang goat based on the feedstuff consumed, crude protein content, and the management of feeding used by the kacang goat farmers in Tanjung Bintang District. This study used qualitative approach with survey method, then it was descriptively analyzed. Farmers interviewed came from six villages namely Jati Baru, Jati Indah, Trimulyo, Srikaton, Budilestari and Serdang. The result of this study showed the feedstuff mostly in the form of forage.  Average dry matter consumption was 2.07 kg/goat/day, even the dry matter need was 0.61 kg/goat/day, and average protein consumption was 0.23 kg/goat/day, even the protein need was 0.07 kg/goat/day.  Nutritional status of kacang goat in Tanjung Bintang district South Lampung Regency has fulfilled.     PENGARUH PEMBERIAN VITAMIN C TERHADAP SUSUT BOBOT DALAM PENGANGKUTAN SAPI DARI LAMPUNG KE BENGKULU

    Body weight of cattle would be lose about 10-30% during transportation because of stress. The condition affected on cattle business. Vitamin C could reduce stress, so it’s assumed that vitamin C treatment could reduce weight lost during transportation. An operation research was done on May up to August, 2014 to evaluate the effect of  vitamin C treatment on weight lost of during transportation from Lampung Province to Bengkulu Province.. Two group of cattle were observed in this research, 60 heads of the first group got 500 mg vitamin C treatment and 60 heads as control. Varibale observed were body weight of cattle before and after transportation. Quarrel between body weight before and after transportation were weight lost. Weight lost of cattle of the treatment group and the control group were analysed by t tests. This research indicated that weight lost of  treatment group were not different with control group (P>0,05).It could be concluded that 500 mg vitamin C had not reduced yet stress condition of cattle during transportation.     PENGARUH LAMA PENYIMPANAN DAN WARNA KERABANG TERHADAP KUALITAS INTERNAL TELUR AYAM RAS

    The eggs susceptible to damage and loss of quality due to the entry of bacteria into the egg so that can’t function properly. In addition to the storage duration, eggshell colour factors also affect the level of people's preference for chicken eggs. The darker egg shell colour the thicker the shell and less the pores so the evaporation will be less. Egg shell colour is relatively dark and has a thicker shell and smaller pores that evaporation of the lower egg. The research was to know the effect of storage duration and colour of eggs shell towards the internal eggs quality (egg weight, Haugh Units, and yolk colour); the best effect of storage duration and colour of egg shell towards the internal eggs quality. This study was carried out on March 12 – April 2, 2014 was at the Laboratory Animal Production and Reproduction, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The method was completely randomized design with a nested pattern, factor storage time (7 days and 14 days) as the main plot and eggshell colour intensity factor (light brown and dark brown) as the subplot. Each treatment was repeated 5 times and its experimental unit consist of 3 eggs. The parameters measured were egg weight, yolk colour, and Haugh Units (HU). Data was analyzed with analysis of variance. If there is a real variable Duncan test at 5% significance level.The results was the treatment had significant effect (P <0.05) to the HU value, but not significant (P> 0.05) to egg weight and yolk colour. The storage duration 7 days and eggshell dark brown gived the best of HU

    PENGARUH LAMA SIMPAN DAN WARNA KERABANG TELUR ITIK TEGAL TERHADAP INDEKS ALBUMEN, INDEKS YOLK, DAN PH TELUR

    The purpose of this research was to investigate and to compare the effect of tegal duck eggshell colour with different storage time (0, 7, and 14 days) on albumen index, yolk index and egg’s pH. This research was done on April 7--21st, 2014, used complete randomize block design with 3x2 of nest model and orthogonal contrast test. The storage time (P0: 0, P1: 7, and P2: 14 days) as the main block and the eggshell’s colour (W1: light color and W2: dark color) as the partial block with 4 times replications. Each treatment consist of 3 eggs, so that the number of eggs used are 72 and the respond variable in this research are albumen index, yolk index and egg’s pH. The research result shown that storage time and tegal duck eggshell’s colour was significant on albumen index, but not significantly on the yolk index and egg’s pH. Tegal duck eggshell’s color with shell thickness 0,01 mm differences with different time storage (0, 7, and 14 days) were not significant on the value of albumen index, yolk index, and egg’s pH

    The aim of this research was to determine the level of S/C and the factors value that affect the level of S/C atlactating dairy cattle in BBPTU-HPT Baturraden Purwokerto Central Java, onApril, 29 th – May 13 th 2014.This research used sensus method with primary and secondary data. Analysis data used regression analysiswith SPSS (Statistics Packet for Social Science) program.The result showed that the S/C at BBPTU-HPT Baturraden is 2,12±1,23. Factors affecting the value of S/Cform the herds man and the cattles. On the level of cattle are the education of herds man that negativelyassociated with factor value 0,615, number of the cattle that positively assosiated with factor value 0,067,herdsman knowledge that positively assosiated with factor value 0,721 and the distance between the cowshedwith office that negatively assosiated with factor value 0,060. Factor affecting the S/C on dairy cattle arelactation level that positively assosiated with factor value 0,174, days open that \positively assosiated withfactor value 0,238, mating post partus that negatively assosiated with factor value 0,214, calving intervalthat negatively assosiated with factor value 0,326, lactating duration that positively assosiated with factorvalue 0,278 and dry period that positively assosiated with factor value 0,343

    PENGARUH PEMBERIAN VITAMIN C TERHADAP SUSUT BOBOT SELAMA PENGANGKUTAN SAPI DARI PROVINSI LAMPUNG KE PALEMBANG

    Weight loss due stres during transportation had become economic defect on livestock business. According to this situation, an operational research using 136 cattle were held to evaluated effect of vitamin C treatment since the capability of vitamin C to reduced stres. There are 68 heads which is oral treated using 500 mg vitamin C and 68 control,  respectively. Observation were done on May-August 2014, during cattle transportation from Karang Endah Sub district, Lampung Tengah Municipal, Lampung Province to Palembang, Sumatera Selatan Province. Transportation repeated 6 times using trucks consist of half treated, which has odd tag, and control cattle. Cattle weighing were done before and after transportation, while data analyzed using t-test. Observation showed that the weight lost difference between treated (10,15%)  and control (9,74%) is 0,41% (P<0,05). Result also showed that vitamin C could saving of Rp.647.595,00/truck/ transportation

    This experiment aims to know water content, ash, and crude fiber of  wafer of  various agricultural as feed and to know the best water content, ash, and crude fiber from wafer of various composition of agricutural waste.  This experiment was held Juny-July 2014 in Bandar Baru Village Sukau Subdistrick West Lampung Regency. This sample were analyzed in the Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Feed Science, Department of Animal Husbandry, Lampung University.  The experimental design used in this research was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and four replications.  The treatments were : A: sweet potato 8% + potato 3% + leaf couliflower 5% + china cabbage 10%  + carrot 50% + chayote 5% + tomato 15,99 % + molasses 3% + salt 0,01%; B: sweet potato 15% + potato 5% + leaf couliflower 10% + china cabbage 15% + carrot 40% + chayote 6% + tomato 5,99 % + molasses 3% + salt 0,01%; C: sweet potato 20% + potato 7% + leaf couliflower 15% + china cabbage 20% + carrot 23% + chayote 8% + tomato 3,99 % + molasses 3% + salt 0,01%.  The  data were analyzed by using variance analysis with significant level of 5% and or 1%, and will be followed by the Least Significant Difference test (LSD).  The results of this study showed that the composition of wafer with various agricultural wastes was not significant effect (P> 0.05) on water content, but significantly (P <0.05) of the crude fiber content and highly significant (P <0.01) against of the ash content.     PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN TEPUNG GAPLEK DENGAN TINGKAT BERBEDA TERHADAP KANDUNGAN NUTRISI SILASE LIMBAH SAYURAN

    The purpose of this research was determined to: 1) the effect of additioning cassava flour with different level against to the nutrition qualities (fat, fiber, protein, and NFE) of vegetable waste silage; 2) the best additioning of cassava flour against to the nutrition qualities (fat, fiber, protein, and NFE) of vegetable waste silage. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments by adding cassava flour as accelerator (0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%) and with three repetition. Data were analyzed with Analysis of Varians and continued with Least Significant Difference Test (LSD) 0,05. The result of this research showed that waste vegetable silage with different level adding of cassava flour was significant (P<0,05) to the nutrition qualities (fat, fiber, protein, and NFE) of vegetable waste silage. The best treatment for protein contents of vegetable waste silage was addition by 0% cassava flour, 20% for fat and NEF, and 15% for fiber.     Vegetable waste in the trditional market can be used as feed.  Nevertheless, the shortcomings from vegetable waste is have a high level of water content.  Vegetables waste can be processed to be silage with addition accelerators that is cassava flour.  This research determined to: 1) the effect of the addition cassava flour with different levels on the levels of dry substances and levels of organic matters in vegetable waste silage; 2 ) the best increasing rate of cassava flour against to dry subtances and organic matters in vegetables waste silage.  The design used Completely Random Design (CRD) with five treatments additonal cassava flour (0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20%) and each treatments was repeated for three times and the data was analyzed  with Least Significant Difference test (LSD).  The result indicated that additonal levels of cassava flour was highly significant ;(P<0,01) on the levels of dry substances and levels of organic matters vegetables waste. Best treatment is in vegetable waste silage that added 20 % cassava flour against to dry substances levels and levels of organic matter.     PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PROBIOTIK DARI MIKROBA LOKAL TERHADAP TEBAL KERABANG, PENURUNAN BERAT, DAN NILAI HAUGH UNIT TELUR YANG DISIMPAN SEPULUH HARI

    This study was conducted to 1) determine the effect local of probiotic supplements on shell thickness, weight loss persentage, and Haugh unit of eggs which stored ten days; 2) determine the optimal  level of supplements local of probiotic on shell thickness, weight loss presentage, and Haugh unit of eggs which stored ten days. This research was held on 08--19 December 2014  in the CV. Varia Agung Jaya henhouse laying  in  the District of  Seputih Mataram, Center of Lampung  Regency and continued on 20 December 2014--18 January 2015 in the Laboratory of Microbiology, Laboratory of Molecular Biology Faculty, University of Lampung. The study used completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments of  local  probiotics in the diet (0%, 1%, 2%, and 3%) and 5 replications. Data obtained was analyzed using analysis of variance at 5% level and continued Orthogonal Polynomial test at 5% level. Based on these results we can conclude: effect of local probiotics in the diet (0,1,2, and 3%) no significant (P> 0.05) on the weight loss presentage and  Haugh unit of eggs which stored ten days, but significant (P <0.05) on  shell thickness. Increasing the percentage of local probiotic on the ration will improve shell thickness indicated by the regression equation ŷ = 0.42 + 0,24x, with r = 0.68 and R2 = 0.47.
